Happy Holidays from Small Box

You know all to well that the holidays are happy times for me and the rest of family. In fact we have a new little guy coming in February so this will be a special time for us. My business, Small Box continues to provide top level services in Web Design and Development and Indianapolis SEO. We've done a lot of good work lately especially.

I got the greatest family. How does it happen that an old guy like me recognizes that they're all on myspace and I didn't know it? They probably know more about it than I do, which is cool on some level I'm sure.

All you creeps stay away from them, I've already warned them about you.

I am really addicted to this new Elvis Costello release. I think it is my favorite EC ever!

Is it 2008 yet? Murder and weather is our only news.

Last night I bumped into a guy I used to work with. We discussed a late co-worker who died unexpectedly recently and I expressed that I really could not conjure up any real positive memories of him - and I felt bad about that.

All I can think of was that DN noticed I was upset that Geroge Harrison had died. But come on, everybody was upset about that, right?

Well not at the ad agency we worked for, a bunch of shallow people who probably couldn't tell the difference between George and Ringo.

Next time there will be more fatherhood stuff, I promise.

I turned 35 yesterday, same day as my friend Jeb's baby was born. Her name is Sylvia.

Some days it seems like a real drag getting older but I'm feeling pretty darn good about it right now. In other news:

I miss New Orleans

The government is a real drag

Rogue Wave is coming to town

I had pizza at a Father's Day lunch today with my father in law, in town from Florida.

Last night we went to see Danielson at this neat little all ages space called Harrison center. It was the most amount of unintentional feedback I've ever seen at a show, but wow, what a show. The whole band is so clean cut and positive. It makes me wonder why so many rockers don't even bother to take a shower and put on a decent shirt before they perform.

My mother in law was staying at our house with Abe. We were home by midnight, so this morning was pretty pleasant. I would have liked to hit Greg's for 75c beers with Dave Jablonski for his birthday, but you know I'm glad it went down just like it did.

I'm really at the point where in order to justify making music a bigger priority, that I should be able to make some money at it. So now I troll the boards looking for bands seeking someone like me. They all want to do covers, which I would even be open to doing because at least I feel like I should be playing something and making some money.

Oh yeah, I'm unemployed. Makes it hard to justify the cost of bass strings.

Everybody is either living outside of town, the band splits up before I can audition with Born to Run, Josie, Heroes, and Cinnamon Girl, or tonight.

It is a man and wife who just sing. Their doing modern rock covers. They are musical missionaries.

How do I explain to them that I feel like since I lost nearly everything that mattered to me in the fucking storm called Katrina, that god doesn't care about us. I drank a couple glasses of wine, called my friend Marty and we just laughed about all kinds of things.

I didn't tell him about Dog Cum, but he suggested that we could graft intestines on to our own existing intestines if we ever needed to - in the old days the barbers used to do it.

Christians bug me, I like drunks.

A word about Cheap Trick, they are not the greatest band ever, but they do have the greatest bass sound ever. Some people might disagree with me but they are wrong.
