Edison, New Jersey (USA) progressive metal act MUTINY WITHIN have been on quite a thrill ride in the past couple of years. They changed vocalists and then got signed to the biggest heavy metal label in the world, Roadrunner Records. Stepping up into the big time, the young act has now unleashed their technical explosiveness on a debut album, which is slated for a Feb/2010 release.

MUTINY WITHIN will support ARCH ENEMY on tour in the United States this coming January, alongside EXODUS, ARSIS, and SONATA ARCTICA.

When she’s not too busy being a mother to her two children or attending events with her famous husband (bassist Robert Trujillo of METALLICA), artist Chloe Trujillo – who grew up in Paris – is all about creating interesting works of art and showing us all that creativity is only limited by ones imagination. She is most well known for a pyrography (woodburning) design of the Aztec Calendar she did for her man, taking ‘art on instrument’ to a whole new level.

The Metal Den’s Randy “Rocket” Cody recently conducted an interview with

Current mood:Far Beyond Driven

Seventeen years ago, American groove metal band MACHINE HEAD was founded by Robb Flynn and bassist Adam Duce in Oakland, California. The band delivered a solid debut in 1994 with Burn My Eyes (featuring Chris Kontos on drums) and followed that up with The More Things Change (’97), which introduced drummer Dave McClain, The Burning Red (’99), and Supercharger (’01).

Entering into the picture officially in 2003, lead guitarist Phil Demmel (who had played with Flynn in the earlier Bay Area thrash act VIO-LENCE) soon became regarded as one of modern heavy metal’s elite, having played brilliantly on Through The Ashes Of Empires (’03) and 2007’s undisputed masterpiece The Blackening.

The Metal Den’s Randy “Rocket” Cody recently conducted an interview with
Phil Demmel Of MACHINE HEAD for his loyal army of Den Headz worldwide.

Current mood:  electric

The Metal Den reports:

MEGADETH was back in top form at this past Saturday night’s show at The National in Richmond, Virginia. The guys were all smiles on stage, and the crowd was as loud as can be. Shockingly enough, even Dave was in good spirits! The crowd sang along to each and every song, and it appeared as Dave himself was blown away by the Megadeth chants.

Born on November 12, 1964 in Jackson, Minnesota, David Ellefson grew up with a passion for rock ‘n’ roll music that ultimately took him all the way to the top as a founding member of MEGADETH in 1986, a pioneer of the American heavy metal thrash movement, most well known for their Grammy nominated, double-platinum Countdown to Extinction album released in 1992. Departing the band after 2002’s Rude Awakening, Ellefson moved on to join other metal acts, including F5 and the super group HAIL!.
