Last night was crazy...I shot an event for Manhattan magazine and then went over to Highline Ballroom to check out Wale (an artist from DC that is about to take GoGo nationwide).
The evening was hosted by Hot 97 DJs Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg; Colin Munroe was the first act, followed by Kid Kudi (an artist from Ohio that was pretty dope), with Wale headlining and bringing up a ton of special guests.

Let's get started.

I knew something was up when I saw Freeway outside of the venue...

Homie from the WIRE.

Mark Ronson hit the Turntables for dope set of DJ Premier influenced music.

Wale Live performance: Pretty Dope.  I normally talk shit about rappers that think they are going to put DC on the map, but for some reason I really liked the show.  First things first...I was at a GoGo in NYC...people don't understand....in DC, GoGo music is bigger than hip hop, so to finally see somebody blend GoGo and hip hop in front of a packed crowd in NYC, was dope.  He rocked out wit the UCB band and brought up a bunch of special guests...Uptown!!!

Surprise!!! -  Freeway hit the stage, joined later by Young Chris (Chris and Neef).

The rock was in the building...another surprise in waiting...

..

Chrisette Michelle and Wale performed their song, "Rising up", from The Roots new album.

Pusha T (The Clipse) hit the stage going nuts...I mean OD!!!!

..

And to finish the show off, Wale brought out Ryan Leslie.

..

Random shots throughout the night

JAY - Z ... hanging out with Kid Cudi.

Kid Cudi...big up Ohio.

Check the kicks...

This is a photo of Freeway after the show, thanking people for their support.... and something about burners...

My man J.

This shirt is kind of funny...

...but not really..<..??

I'm out...look at the slide shows...there are a lot more photos to see.
Hit me up to get copies of the images...FEEL FREE TO LEAVE COMMENTS!!!

We just finished The Food Chain album and you're the first to know about it. The album includes one song from every member of The Food Chain Collective. It's a very solid introduction to our art and hopefully it expresses the passion that we have towards creating music.

The album is available for a free download at http://www.foodchaincollective.com/

Peace everyone,

The Rosetta Stoned hustle has not slowed down, we still grind daily. The philosophy is literally to make the moves. We toured the west coast last summer with Food Chain family members, Math Panda & Flex Mathews. Starting May 15th we'll kick off a 10 date east coast tour with Yo Majesty & Does It Offend You, Yeah? (first 3 dates). We'll go from New York down to Miami. Check our tour dates, we'll be headed straight down I-95. Come party with us!

Here's some footage from last summer.

In June of 2007 our good friend Cubbiebear threw the 2nd installment of "The Rape" up at Sonar in Baltimore, MD. We came and partied like normal...here's a clip of a song called "Alien Gospels" produced by Mind-U-Mental with DJ Addikt on the tables behind us. Here's some candid footage from The Green Giants Tour out in Santa Cruz, California. We'd just headed out in the woods with Flex Mathews to retrieve the Math Panda boys. They'd decided to climb a tree and build a net up there and sleep there that night. Sounds rather simple until you realize they climbed the trees without any safety equipment and slept 80 feet above the ground.

So while walking...i turned to Stoney Ashes and told him to spit a written for the camera...his response was..."naw i'd rather freestyle man i'm only gonna be here...now"...so enjoy....and go visit a forest...especially all you city cats who are like myself....who never see shit like that.....

September should be a fun month for us all. We kinda switched our focus away from traveling and decided to channel all of our attention to DC for the moment to try and get a few monthly events off the ground. September will bring our 2nd installment of The Glass House and our 4th installment of the Hell is for Heroes freestyle battle.

This thursday will be the next Glass House @ Asylum. The line-up will have everything from r&b to hip hop to punk rock. After that we'll be playing with Boot Camp Clik @ Five & The Chicharones (Josh Martinez and Sleep) are coming out from Canada & Oregon to rock with us at Carpool in Herndon. We have tickets for both shows...send me a note if you're interested in grabbing one. The Chicharones tickets come with a CD with music from them & us on it. While supplies last of course.

The next Hell is for Heroes is probably going to be the most anticipated event of this month. The last one went over extremely well...congratulations to the winner...A-class. We had performers come out from as far as New York, Maine, & California to battle. Emcee who want to sign up for the battle...send me a note and i'll make it happen.

So while you're adding these events to your calendar.....hit up our page and listen to Fungi.
