OK Knittas~

Skein and Able is going to join WaterAid and I Knit London in a mission called Knit a river. Please forward this information to every knitta you know!

Knit a river is a new campaign with WaterAid. The campaign is designed to raise awareness of WaterAid and their aims - a world where everyone has access to safe drinking water.

I Knit and WaterAid have joined forces to produce an innovative campaign tool to demand water and toilets for all.

Take action today, knit a 15x15cm blue square; each blue square will be sewn together to form a river.

Instead of a more traditional petition I Knit is proud to be making a spectacle! Our Knitted River will force world leaders to sit up and listen. The river will travel to all future WaterAid campaigning events and carry the message. Our demands are simple - let the water flow!

WATER AND TOILETS FOR ALL!

Squares should be sent to-

So whether it is cheesy or not, I have decided to do a piece for the 4th of July and involve puff paint. Now, I understand that this automatically makes it look like I had a 3 year old assist me. The truth is, I am three years old. And I don't care what you think.

You are Beautiful (www.you-are-beautiful.com) has been a frequented website of mine for years. I was lucky enough to do 2 pieces in their You Are / I am books while they were traveling the world, and I wanted to thank them in a creative way for everything that they do to better this planet.

And of course, I wouldn't have even thought of this method if it hadn't been for Knitta, Please, (www.knittaplease.com) I work in the sweater industry, and as a hand knitter, I found myself very unsatisfied creatively, and have been dying for a way to express myself..I tried fiber art, (www.mygbotn.com) and a jewelry line, and......nothing. But they showed me a way to get it all out, and I can't wait to do more!! : )

And to end my mushy blog, I wanna remind everyone how important it is, especially in NYC, the land of loneliness,  to show love to the world. Organizations like You are beautiful and Knitta please are setting a great example of the way shit should be by showing love all over the damn place.

Rocks my fuckin casbah.
