We have received word from Festival Director Eric Panter that our six minute short film "Honey, I'm Home" will screen at the Atlanta Underground Film Festival on Saturday August 23rd, 2008.

Our focus has been on our upcoming feature film, "Night Before the Wedding."  Yet it is a thrill to see "Honey, I'm Home" continue it's life on the Film Festival Circuit.  We would like to thank Eric and the programming staff at AUFF for selecting our work.  This makes 20+ Official Selections for a short that we made without any money.

We just received this video link from the folks over at HollyShorts.  It is a cool recap of last year's festival where "Honey, I'm Home" was fortunate enough to receive an Audience Choice Award.

This video was filmed and edited by Daniel Mercaldi and is hosted by Damon Campbell.  Cannot emphasize enough how impressed we are with this highlight video.  It really captures the overall spirit and vibe that I remember from attending the fest.

It's great to see "Honey, I'm Home" represented in the video.  Not only is there a small clip from the film in the video, there are also words from Director David Branin and later from Actress Karen Worden.

Also look for words from Festival Directors Daniel Sol and Theo Dumont  Others include Writer Elliott Owen, Director Julian West, Actor Joe Lemieux, Director Justin Liberman, Host Viviana Vigil, Producer/Actor Chris Rice, Director Alex Ferrari, Director Chris Wilson, and Hip Hop Legend Biz Markie.

Hope you enjoy the inside peek at the festival as much as we do.

We have just received word from Producer/Festival Director Len Gibson that "Honey, I'm Home" has been accepted into the Sweet Auburn Internatinal Film Festival.  This is outstanding news and want to personally thank Len for being gracious enough to share our film with his Atlanta audience.

This makes it 20 Official Film Festival Selections for our film which was made from the change in our piggy banks.

The festival schedule is now being put together.  For the very latest news regarding this year's Sweet Auburn International Film Festival, please visit their official site here http://www.black-cinema.org/filmfestival.html

Have just received word that my YouTube account has been approved for

the YouTube Partner’s Program.  Basically it means that I will be paid

anytime someone clicks on the ads located on my YouTube videos pages.

Pretty cool news.  Not sure how much money I can make, whatever comes

my way I will put towards the budget of the feature film I am trying to get off the

ground.

Speaking of which, I went ahead and added my short film "Honey, I’m Home"

to YouTube.  In it’s 1st day it has surpassed 1500 views which is a great start,

yet it has very little comments and ratings to date.  If you have a YouTube account, please take a minute and show it some love.

Thank you!

First off, want to apologize to The Angry Princess who reviewed "Honey, I’m Home" quite some time ago.  I have been busy doing all I can to get my forthcoming feature film off the ground that I have not been able to keep up with news surrounding my surprising short film.

Glad to report that our film made The Angry Princess happy.  Want to thank you Kristin for taking time to share your thoughts on our film.

Here is a quote from her review posted over at This is Some Scene

"It was honestly different than anything I have seen in along time and I think most people will get a kick out of it!"

"Honey, I'm Home" is scheduled to appear at 4 great Film Festivals in the month of March, 2008.  Here is an overview.

March 1st, 2008

Lake County Film Festival - Lake County, IL

http://www.lakecountyfilmfest.com/index.html

As the owners of Dog Ear Music & Movies, we saw how hungry our customers are for great independent cinema. Despite Lake County's size of over 750,000 residents, there are few movie screens reserved for non-blockbusters. Movie lovers of all ages and walk of life come to our store looking for something they cannot find at the local cineplexes. In 2004, we decided to change that and the Lake County Film Festival was born.

The inaugural fest was a success with screenings of two critically acclaimed films, Robot Stories and September 11. The festival received front-page coverage in the county's two largest newspapers and gave us the idea to expand the festival.

The 2006 Lake County Film Festival will feature both full length and short form films shown over four days. Submission from independent filmmakers are being reviewed and buzz is already generating both through word-of-mouth and the Lake County press. The festival was also mentioned on IFC's "Ultimate Film Fanatic."

*March 6th, 2008 - subject to change, please read below

Peoria Film Festival - Peoria, AZ

http://www.peoriafilmfestival.com/

*This is the one festival in question.  My original notes had us scheduled for March 6th.  From what I can now tell, it appears the festival has been pushed back to September 18th-21st, 2008.  Hope to have this cleared up for you as soon as I can.

March 8th, 2008

Miami Underground Film Festival - Miami, FL

http://www.miamiundergroundff.com/

The Miami Underground Film Festival was created to give the independent filmmaker a forum to screen their work.  We put an emphasis on undiscovered or neglected talent from around the world. We hope to grow throughout the years and serve as a launching pad for future independent filmmakers in the spirit of Cassavetes, Rodriguez, Meyer and Jarmusch.

March 12th-16th, 2008

Backseat Film Festival - Philadelphia, PA

http://www.backseatfilmfestival.com/bff_08/bff_2008_home.html

2008 brings you the 6th edition the Backseat Film Festival!  We are very proud of all the great rock 'n roll movies we've been lucky enough to show over the years, and we are looking forward to this year's movies.  Once again, we'll be screening shorts, features, documentaries, animations, music videos and everything in between.  Student films and local stuff too!

And true to form, we'll be hosting loads of special events and after-parties during the festival at nearby venues.

Following this year's flagship Philadelphia event and Award Ceremony in March 2008, the Backseat Film Festival will again be traveling to several other cities, bringing with it past festival award winners and new submissions alike.

I have just learned that "Honey, I'm Home" has earned the honor of "Director's Cut" on MetaCafe.  The "Director's Cut" channel is a sub-division within the MetaCafe platform that  features fresh original videos that honor the art of storytelling and the craft of filmmaking in the categories of comedy, animation, documentary, action and drama.

It is quite an honor for "Honey, I'm Home" to earn this early in it's online status.

Here is the link to the five minute short film.
