Rush to record a NEW album THIS winter. Confirmed. . .

Alex Lifeson has revealed that the band will make  tentative steps towards their next album this winter.

Alex reveals that the band are due to reconvene  this winter to start working on a follow up to 2007’s

"Snakes & Arrows."

"Tentatively, we start work on the next album in the fall - I did mention it to Ged before he went away on

holiday and he sort of looked the  other way. Come September and we'll certainly have some plans, we

did the last record, or we started on  the last album in the fall and I'd like to do that again, start

recording maybe. I don't know who might  produce, that's some ways off yet."

Earlier this year Geddy Lee denied rumors that the new album would be a concept album akin to their

2112 record.

Retrospective III

I just got the Retrospective III CD/DVD delivered to me today, finally being able to listen to the new remixes. What does everyone think? My personal favorite remix would have to be "One Little Victory." I think it's got a great sound to it... What about you guys?

Also, just give me your general feedback on the new release! I'm loving it so far, but I do wish that the interview was something other than the Colbert Report. Not that I didn't like it or anything, but I've just seen it quite a few times. I was really hoping for some more behind the scenes, studio kind of stuff. But hey, I'm not gonna complain! :)

So, if you play Xbox 360, you may have heard of a game called Lost Odyssey. If you have and are a fan of the game, or if you're just a gaming fan in general, go ahead and add my friend's MySpace fan page for this game. Yeah, I know... Nothing to do with Rush... But hey, just to add a little Geddy Lee in here, go pick up some Rock Band and play your hearts out... Or a real guitar if that's what floats your boat. =D

Warner Music Group or the Warner Music Nazis?

Recently, as I posted in my bulletin yesterday, it has come to my, and many others attention that someone called the "Warner Music Group" (WMG) has been removing audio tracks to videos, and videos themselves from YouTube.com Why? Because they own it. And they own a lot of it, let me tell you. Here's from their very own website in the "about wmg" section:

"Warner Music Group (WMG) became the only stand-alone music company to be publicly traded in the United States in May 2005. With its broad roster of new stars and legendary artists, Warner Music Group is home to a collection of the best-known record labels in the music industry including Asylum, Atlantic, Bad Boy, Cordless, East West, Elektra, Maverick, Nonesuch, Reprise, Rhino, Roadrunner, Rykodisc, Sire, Warner Bros. and Word. Warner Music International, a leading company in national and international repertoire operates through numerous international affiliates and licensees in more than 50 countries. Warner Music Group also includes Warner/Chappell Music, one of the world's leading music publishers."

I understand that Youtube has to follow some sort of policy regarding that sort of thing, and it has done just that. But I think this goes beyond just a typical, understandable policy. A friend told me that he heard about user's videos being removed when they were doing a cover of a specific song with the WMG music playing in the background. Is that really called for?

What is the point of YouTube then? I know if I wanted a quick, easy way to listen to a song I liked, I just looked it up on YouTube, and there it was. But with half of the music gone now, it seems pointless. Videos being removed left and right -- what are they accomplishing? I thought it was their job to please the consumers. I've ended up buying quite a few new CDs, gotten into new bands buy looking the songs up on YouTube first, and I'm sure at least some of you can relate to that.

Feel free to leave your input with these people.

Hello to all friends on this page,

I want to apologize for not being on here as frequently as I had been before, but I have been caught up with some other things. School is out for me (finally done being a freshman in high school, woo hoo), and it is now my summer vacation... Looking pretty forward to that, especially since the Rush show I am attending is on June 9th in Illinois, at the United Center. Anyone else catching that show? Maybe you will see me there if you are. If you do see me... let me know who you are, that you know about this page, and just give me a quick hello!

But, I do have a few other MySpace accounts in addition to this one, so the time on this one in particular has been cut a little short. I still manage to get on to accept friend requests, read comments and messages - sorry if I don't reply to all of you guys, but I do try when I can. And if any of you guys have any Rush-related pictures to send me (tattoos, drawings of Geddy, pictures from the Snakes and Arrows tours) please send them in a message and I will be sure to upload them for you!

Hm. Enough about me. How are all of you doing? What'd you do for Memorial Day? Seeing Rush this tour...? Post whatever you feel like posting in this blog, just leave a comment, tell us how you're feeling! :)

Keep living in the limelight --
