For many years the Bones Artistic wheels have been the best selling artistic wheels on the market.  They’re now going to start making these wheels available in black.  Right now we have two versions in stock:

            57mm x 92A (softer than they’ve done before)
            62mm x 101A

They’re going to have 57mm and 62mm wheels in your choice of 92A, 98A, and 101A hardnesses, we hope to have all of them available soon.  They’re the same price as the original white Bones Artistic wheels.
 
Separately, our UPS machine crashed on Friday.  We were able to ship everything using a laptop, but we've lost the email addresses many of you use to get tracking info.  If you like your tracking info emailed to you each night, please send us an email with your company details and the email address you want the tracking sent to.  Thanks.

Several of the new Vanilla products just arrived.  The Blackmail and Flash are inline speed skates at very attractive price points, they are both significantly cheaper than most of the other inline race skates on the market.   Our paper catalog shows that these come in a size 4, that is wrong, the correct size range is 5 – 13.

The Diamond Walker is the newest boot from Vanilla, designed by one of their sponsored jam skaters, also arrived.  They are warning us that the first batch of these boots is running a little bit larger than previous Vanilla boots, so take this into account if your customer isn’t sure of his size.

The Vanilla Junior skates were originally supposed to be in this shipment, but they have been delayed.  If you have a customer that needs these by Christmas, let us know and we can try to get Vanilla to ship direct to your rink.

The Web Stinger and Tracer are two entry-level adjustable inline skates from Roller Derby. We’ve had the black versions of these for several weeks. We now also have white versions designed especially for girls. Both skates are white with pink wheels and accents. Both come in small (size 12J - 1) and medium (size 2 - 5).

The Vanilla Curve boots are back in stock. The Vanilla Junior, Diamond, Blackmail, and Flash are all on the way. We hope to have these in stock by December 10.

New Year’s Eve supplies are in stock now. Noisemakers, blowouts, glow sticks, balloons, drop bags, leis, party hats, etc are all in stock and ready for your New Year’s Eve party. Please don’t wait until the last minute to place your order.

We have several instructional DVDs in stock. Five of these are specifically about jamskating, one is about the basics of roller skating. Here are the titles:

Learn to Jamskate Videos

We’re now carrying a series of DVDs entitled “Learn To Jamskate”.  The DVDs are produced by Jennifer Leslie, a former jamskater and skating enthusiast.  There are currently six titles in the series:
            Learn to Roller Skate:  A Beginner’s Guide to Skating
            Intro to Jamskating:  A Beginner’s Guide
            Footwork Volume One
            Footwork Volume Two
            Groundwork Volume One
            Groundwork Volume Two
These DVDs could be used in your rink to instruct your teachers, loan out to interested skaters, or to sell to your skaters.

The Voyager is a new inline skate from Roller Derby designed especially for the roller rink market.  This skate has a molded shell, three buckles, a deluxe padded liner, and ABEC-5 bearings.  Sizes 13J-4 have 64mm wheels, sizes 5-12 have 76mm wheels.  These skates are in stock now.

We received a large shipment from Vanilla. Here is an update on what's available from them and what's coming soon:

The new Tony Zane Pro model is now in stock. This is a white boot with gold graphics. All sizes (4-13) are now available.

Their new Deluxe wheel in red with a white aluminum hub is now in stock.

Their new Remix wheel in white is also now in stock.

Later this month we should be getting more wheels (several jam models and also a derby model) and two more boots (a derby boot called Brass Knuckle and a jam boot called Diamond Walker Pro). Then, hopefully by December, they'll have a complete skate called the Vanilla Junior.

We still have a few of their older versions left, but please hurry, they won’t last long.

Roller Derby has two new juvenile adjustable inline skates that are available now.  Both skates come in small (fits sizes 12J – 1) and medium (fits sizes 2-5).  The small sizes have 64mm wheels, the medium sizes have 72mm wheels.

The Web Stinger skate (I-138B) is black with red and white graphics that makes the skate resemble a spider web.  The bearings are Bevo ABEC5.  It has laces and one buckle.

The Tracer skate (I-140B) is black with bluish-purple highlights.  The bearings are 608ZB.  It has two buckles.

Here are a few notes from our recent tradeshow for those that weren’t able to join us. . .

Birthday Skate:  Pacer’s Charger skate is being promoted as a birthday party skate.  Birthday parties are a great thing for rinks.  They bring in good numbers, and some of the guests are probably not regular customers.  Many rinks are reporting that birthday parties are the strongest part of their business right now.  The only problem with birthday parties is that they only happen once a year.
Consider what would happen if you could expand on the success of the birthday party and bring the birthday child back at least once a month. 

Some rinks are offering a birthday skate as an add-on to their birthday packages.  Some are including the skate in their nicer packages.  At least one group of rinks is including a birthday skate in every single birthday party they book. 

This is aggressive, but it seems to be working for them.  They believe that by including a skate in each and every birthday party they’re creating repeat customers.  The birthday child gets a pair of skates, so he is going to be coming back to the rink several times (at least).  The party guests see the birthday skates and they want their own, so they are sure to ask their parents to have their next part at the rink. 
Plus, the rink owner gives every kid at the party a coupon for a discount on their own pair of the birthday skate.  The coupon is valid for one week.  Some kids ask for the skate that day.  Some kids beg the parents to take them back to the rink before the coupon expires.

The Charger skate is designed especially for birthday parties.  It comes in black or white, sizes 10J – 4.  Most sizes will arrive here by October 12, a few sizes may be backordered for a couple of weeks.
If the birthday child is too big for this skate, then switch them to the GTX-500.  If they already have a nicer pair of skates, give them a credit in your pro shop towards new wheels or bearings.

Labeda:  We received a few pair of the Labeda Pro Line skates and a few sets of their new quad wheels.  We don’t have many in stock right now; we hope to get more soon.  If you’re interested please act quickly to get some from the first batch.

Sure-Grip:  They now have a white version of the Shaman in a “race” hardness.  They also have a new (additional) narrower profile of the Fugitive wheels in purple (88A), yellow (92A), and light blue (90A) designed for the derby market.

Chicago:  The Bullet skates are now available in white.

Vanilla:  They have a lot of new products on the way.  Here are the latest estimated ship dates.  Mid-October for the Zane boots, white Freestyle, black Freestyle, white Remix wheels, and red Deluxe wheels.  Early November for the Brass Knuckle (derby boot), Diamond boots, Curve boots, speed inlines, black Remix wheels, and blue Deluxe wheels.

Labeda Pro-Line:  One of the most successful high end quad plates ever is back.  The new version comes with 8mm trucks instead of 7mm, but other than that we couldn’t find any changes.  They’ll have 7mm trucks available if you need those.  The plates are 7000 series aluminum with a special angle geometry to reduce stress to the trucks and king pins.  A lot of people have been waiting a long time for this plate to be available again, and now it is finally going to happen.  ....

Stiletto Pro:  Higher end quad wheels for the derby skaters with an aluminum hub.  White (96A) or Ruby Red (97A).  ....
