We are thrilled to announce the release of our new record "Everyone Might Be A Senator", a musical about paranoia, love and senators. Listen to the tracks on our MySpace, listen to the whole album stream on beltcave.com, or purchase the CD or mp3's here! Samuel Des Pair of Dismal Bleak Hopeless Radio Theatre guides you through the most dismal, bleak and hopeless musical ever captured on a compact disc or mp3.

Hey guys, We've been up to a bunch of stuff and here is a bit of an update. In March of this year we were asked by the University of Nebraska at Omaha to play the Missouri Valley Historical Conference reception at the Joslyn Castle. They asked for a lower volume set and Jesse (our singer) recommended that we try to do a set of instrumentals. We recorded the performance and we love how it turned out. It prominently features two of our newer members (although both have played with us for nearly 5 years): NLJ Klosterboer on tenor sax and Luigi Waites on vibes. We've posted 5 of the tracks here and you can here an exciting bonus track at beltcave.comWe are currently narrowing down over 80 new studio tracks and figuring out what to do with them. We are planning on releasing most of them over the course of the next year. Thanks, Anthony

Our new album "Music from the film Extraordinary Leverage" is now available.
Amanda Mull of The Red and Black (Athens, GA) writes:
"Shelter Belt achieves a sonic richness few bands strive for and fewer attain. The band changes its style with every song and shows an amazing range of talent.
Luigi Waites' contributions to songs such as "Only So Much" give the music a depth of sound that makes them intriguing after repeated listening."
You can get a hard copy here.
It is also available at the iTunes store.
Thanks, Anthony

NEWS ITEM 1- Anthony (our drummer) has completed his first film. It is called "Extraordinary Leverage". It is a short comedy about two rival detectives. The movie stars: Jake Adolphson- Jake has appeared in a few local films and played many roles in local live theatre. S.D. Allison-Omaha author whose most recent book is entitled "Beneath The Plastic". http://sdallison.com/The film also features Shelter Belt members Anthony, Chris A., and Nick. NEWS ITEM 2- Shelter Belt, along with NLJ Klosterboer and Luigi Waites, wrote and performed the music for this film. It was very exciting to work with both of these guys. They have been very good friends of ours for a long time and they are exceptionally talented. NLJ Klosterboer is the saxophonist for the band Papers (they are excellent and you can hear them here: http://myspace.com/papers). You can read a bit about Luigi's distinguished career here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luigi_WaitesThe soundtrack for this movie features thirteen new songs and will be released as our next CD. We have posted six tracks from this project. Thanks for checking and please continue to do so periodically. We should be posting a lot of news in the next year.

We had a great fall. We released a new CD and had a really fun tour. You can see where we went and read reviews of "Under The World Awhile" here. In just over two weeks, we'll be doing our first tour of Hawaii (we already hope to do more). Jesse has a friend in Honolulu who has helped us a lot and because of him, we'll be saving a bunch of money. This will be the 22nd state that Shelter Belt has played in. We couldn't be more excited and we'll let you know how it went when we get back. On Friday, February 9, we'll be playing SD Allison's publishing party for his new novel "Beneath the Plastic". The show will be at the PS Collective in Omaha. Mal Madrigal will also be playing that night and it should be a lot of fun. We are grateful to Mr. Allison for inviting us. Check out his site: www.sdallison.comWe have started recording new music. We hope to get the next Shelter Belt album done faster than the first three. Thanks for stopping by, Anthony

6 acts will be playing short sets. These artists are among our favorites in the world and they are also some of our best friends. The show will run from 6:PM until after midnight.
The show is free and all ages. The PS Collective is an excellent venue and this should be a very fun night. We hope to see you there.
