So I thought that it was about time to post another tune from my new album "THE PIXELATED PATH", so you can now check out "JUST TO PROVE THAT THIS IS LOVE" on the myspace site!! :D

This tune was one of the last songs that came together for the album. I played all the guitars, penny whistles, and vocals, Matt Nakoa Pryor played keyboards, Benny Appleby rocked the bass, and producer Alder (aka David Bowick) did all the rest! I wanted to try something that kinda sounded like a techno version of a Rusted Root song, and Alder wanted to go for something a little bit more simplistic (along the Coldplay lines)....so after numerous versions of the song sent across the internet from Los Angeles to Philadelphia, we were able to crammed the 2 ideas together and come up with what I think is probably the coolest recording I've ever done!

I think the combination of the folky acoustic instrument and the electronic noises and vocoded (look it up, hehe) vocals really mess together to form exactly what I wanted to do with "The Pixelated Path"...create "folk pop" for the 21st Century!

I hope you enjoy it, and please let me know what you think!!

Love,

PS - you can download "Just To Prove That This Is Love" along with the rest of the album right now on iTUNES!!! :D

So I'm proud to announce that since the release 2 years ago of my cd "Art Kids from the Country" I've sold over 1,000 copies completely independently! The majority of these cds have been sold on tour at shows, and I have YOU GUYS to thank for that!

Now the only problem is that I have to re-print them, which is a little bit of a process...so until I get more copies the album won't be available at shows, BUT the good news is that you can still download "Art Kids from the Country" on iTUNES along with the new album "THE PIXELATED PATH"!!

I can't thank you all enough for the support over the years and for buying the albums. Check out the iTunes music store for all 4 of my cds and THANKS YOU EVERYONE...see you on tour! :D

ITS NEW TUNE TUESDAY!!!...every Tuesday in August I'm posting a new song from my album "THE PIXELATED PATH" and this week you can check out "Hair That Way"!!!

People have been asking me to put this silly song on an album for years now, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. It features Benny Appleby on bass, Bronwyn Bird on nyckelharpa (Swedish keyed fiddle), and I play and sing everything else. I was kinda going for a Violent Femmes meets an SNL skit kinda vibe....hope you dig!

Also, I wanna thank everyone for coming out to all the cd release show over the past 2 weeks...they were a huge success and I thank everyone for picking up the new cd and other new merch! See you on the road this fall! :D

ITS NEW TUNE TUESDAY!!!...every Tuesday in August I'm posting a new song from my album "THE PIXELATED PATH" and this week you can check out "Around the World"!!!

This was one of the first tunes we worked on and it features Aurelien Budynek on fretless guitar, Benny Appleby on Bass, Matt Nakoa Pryor ..boards, and Bronwyn Bird on nyckelharpa. (Swedish keyed fiddle) I played 12-string guitar, sang the majority of the vocals, and sampled a few weird percussion doo-dahs. Alder (aka David Bowick) created the beat with all sorts of fun sounds, most of which he sampled himself, plus added a few vocal parts.

This song I wrote several years ago when I performed my last concert at the Berklee College of Music for the Professional Writing Award Concert, where I represented the Songwriting Department. It was kind of written as my "farewell" to the college, and an ode to anyone who dares to dreams big! (not to sound TOO cheesy!)

Hope you all dig it!

ITS NEW TUNE TUESDAY!!!...every Tuesday in August I'm posting a new song from my album "THE PIXELATED PATH" and this week you can check out "DREAMER'S WORKING 9 TO 5"!!!

This song is definitely one of my most personal songs, and is quite possibly my favorite recording on the new album. Producer Alder (aka David Bowick) did a beautiful job on the synth parts and the beat, believe it or not using "office" sounds to create the drum parts! (printer sounds, paper shuffling, even a desk chair rolling across the floor...listen for them!) I actually played everything else you hear, (vocals, guitars, bass) so its just Alder and me on the track!

I can't believe how well it turned out, seeing as it was the last song we recorded and at first we had no idea what to do with it. This would be the reason why I didn't have any other players on it...I didn't know what to have them do! It came together within just a few days, from the moment I recorded the basic tracks, sent them to Alder in Los Angeles, had him add the beats and keyboard parts, mix it, and send it in to print! I think it captures beautifully the story of the song in a very innovative way (if I do say so myself!) and I'm VERY proud of it...I hope you like "DREAMER'S WORKING 9 TO 5"!! :D
