El festival más grande del mundo de Gothic-Post Punk-Deathrock por fin llega a Europa!!

Despues de años de demanda, el Drop Dead Festival, que tradicionalmente se llevaba a cabo en los USA, llegará a Europa el día 31 de Octubre del 2007. El Drop Dead Festival es el festival de Deathrock más grande del mundo, centrandose en derivados del horror y post-punk, como Goth, Punk, Psychobilly y Wave. La ciudad de Praga en la República Checa ha sido elegida como emplazamiento del festival por su excepcional belleza, y por ser una localización ideal conectando las zonas este y oeste de Europa.

El Drop Dead Festival empezó hace 5 años en New York, haciendo festivales con frecuencia y congregando gente de todas partes del mundo. El festival habitualmente acoge más de 65 grupos y DJs, combinando los más nuevos y mejores talentos con los más establecidos y legendarios artistas del underground. El Drop Dead también es famoso por sus actividades especiales, como la proyección del clásico de culto "Forbidden Zone" con preguntas y respuestas por parte del director Richard Elfman, regalos, un gran mercadillo, y mucho más.

Aunque el Drop Dead Festival es un evento internacional, la localización única de este año es una oportunidad perfecta para sumergirse en la música y el arte local. El festival se inaugura el 31 de Octubre con una actuación de grupos locales en el 007 Club. Después, la fiesta continuará en el Swamp Club con la primera fiesta de disfraces de Halloween celebrada en Praga, organizada por la gente de Gothic Pogo Party (de Leipzig, Alemania). Entre concierto y concierto, invitamos a los asistentes a comprobar porque a menudo se le llama a Praga "la ciudad más bella del mundo". Todas las salas se encuentran en el centro de la ciudad, dentro de una zona espectacular artísticamente, con una arquitectura famosa en el mundo entero.

De jueves a sábado, el histórico Rock Café Club acogerá a las formaciones de Post Punk, Wave y Deathrock con actuaciones de bandas legendarias como Lene Lovich (UK), Sex Gang Children (UK), Norma Loy (Francia), Ausgang (UK), Charles De Goal (Francia), y una reunión exclusiva de la banda escocesa de deathrock Twisted Nerve. El público también podrá ver algunas de las mejores nuevas bandas del momento como Miguel and The Living Dead (Polonia), Naughty Zombies (España), Din Glorious (USA), Sixteens (USA), Joy Disaster (Francia), Cremaster (Alemania) y muchas más.

Cruzando la calle, el Vagon Club será el lugar en el que disfrutar de las actuaciones de Horror Punk y Psychobilly. Veremos destacadas bandas de la escena Psycho como Klingonz (UK), Spellbound (Irlanda), y Death Valley Surfers (UK). También estarán los alemanes pioneros del horror punk The Spook y Crimson Ghost, así como Deep Eynde desde Los Angeles y Nim Vind de Canada.

Más que un simple concierto, el Drop Dead Festival es una ocasión única para celebrar una reunión entre gente con muchas cosas en común, y una gran cantidad de actividades a realizar. Loa asistentes (muchos de lados opuestos del globo), esperan durante todo el año esta celebración de la música, y DDF no defrauda. Además de bandas fantásticas, hay muchos otros eventos planificados: clubs para bailar durante toda la noche con Djs internacionales al ritmo de post-punk y deathrock, proyecciones de películas, ocasión de conocer y pasar un rato con los grupos, y una excursión a la famosa "Iglesia de Huesos" (Kutna Hora).

The largest Gothic-Post Punk-Deathrock Festival in the world finally arrives in Europe!

After years of demand, the Drop Dead Festival, traditionally held in the USA, will finally be held in Europe October 31- November 2007. Drop Dead Festival is the largest Deathrock festival in the world, focusing on horror and post-punk genres of music such as Goth, Punk, Psychobilly, and Wave. The city of Prague in the Czech Republic was chosen as the location for the festival for its outstanding beauty, and because of an ideal location connecting east and west Europe.

Drop Dead Festival started 5 years ago with regular festivals held in NYC and attracting fans from all over the world. The festival usually hosts 65+ international bands and DJs combining the newest and the best talent with more established and legendary underground acts. Drop Dead is also famous for special events like a DIY punk jacket showcase, a screening of the cult classic movie Forbidden Zone complete with question and answers from director Richard Elfman, giveaways from underground artists and companies, a large vending bazaar, and much more.

Although Drop Dead Festival is an international event, this year's unique location is a perfect chance to immerse in local music and art. The festival kicks off on October 31 with a showcase of local bands at the 007 Club. Later that evening, the party continues at the Swamp Club with Prague's first ever Halloween costume party hosted by the Gothic Pogo Party crew (of Leipzig, Germany). Between shows, attendees are invited to see why Prague is often called 'the most beautiful city on earth'. All venues are located in the center of the city and within easy reach of spectacular art and architecture famous the world over.

Thursday through Saturday, the two-story Rock Café Club will host a post punk, wave and deathrock line up with many incredible performances by legendary bands such as Lene Lovich (UK), Sex Gang Children (UK), Norma Loy (France), Ausgang (UK), Charles De Goal (France), and an exclusive reunion from Scottish deathrock band Twisted Nerve. Audience will also see some of the best newer bands like Miguel and The Living Dead (Poland), Naughty Zombies (Spain) Din Glorious (USA), Sixteens (USA), Joy Disaster (France), Cremaster (Germany) and many others. Across the street, Vagon Club will host a horror punk and psychobilly lineup. Performing will be psycho scene luminaries such as Klingonz (UK), Spellbound (Ireland), and Death Valley Surfers (UK). Also appearing will be the German horror punk pioneers The Spook and Crimson Ghosts, as well as Los Angeles natives Deep Eynde and Canada's Nim Vind.

More then just a show, Drop Dead Festival is a unique gathering of tribes with many activities in store. Attendees (many from opposite sides of the globe) look forward all year to this celebration of music, and DDF does not disappoint.
