Category: News and Politics

Hello Sound of Faith Fans,
I know it has been a while since we've sent anything to those on our mail list but we will try to be more timely in the future.  We really do want to keep you informed about Sound of Faith so that you can keep up with us and with what we are doing for God's glory!

To start with, there are several opportunities coming up to catch Sound of Faith playing live.  As always, you can get this info on our website, http://www.SoundOfFaith.com.  But here is the list:

8.18.07 Ichthys, Christian Music Festival 2007  Kannapolis, NC
6:30 PM  Kannapolis Village Park Amphitheatre
No cover charge, donations accepted

8.19.07 Redeemer's Light United Methodist Church  Mooresville, NC
10:00 AM  @ Mooresville Intermediate School
233 Kistler Farm Rd., Mooresville, NC 28115
No cover charge, donations accepted

8.25.07 "Pastor Jam" @ Second Baptist Church  Lancaster, SC
9:00 PM 1426 Great Falls Hwy., Lancaster, SC 29720
No cover charge, donations accepted

The Ichthys festival will be GREAT entertainment, but we hope that it is so much more.  We are praying that God is able to reach a lost soul (or several) during the event.  It actually starts at 1:00 in Kannapolis and goes to 10:00.  That's a FULL day of music.  As we understand it, at this point there will be about 17 different acts ranging from church choirs, to soloists, to bands; ALL Christian.  I know I can't wait to see the groups myself!

Other news that we'd like to share is that God is blessing us with a new place to create, practice, and record.  In this new area, we will be able to leave our equipment setup ALL THE TIME!  We've never had this luxury in the past, and I can assure you that we are all VERY excited about this.

As a group, Sound of Faith is getting ready to celebrate our 4th birthday!  Though we are not the exact same group that started at Mt. Olivet, UMC, we realize that we would not be where we are if it were not for God helping us along the way.  Anytime we have ever gotten down or distracted as a group, He has always refocused us on Him and put us back on the right track. Praise God!  On that note, we'd like to thank EVERYONE that has been with us or supported us over the years.  We know that we wouldn't be where we are without the contributions and support of the former members and the supporters that we've had along the way.  So, to all of you, we sincerely thank God for you and want you to know that you are in our hearts and prayers all the time!

We are currently looking to fill out some open spots on our calendar for the remainder of the year and get a jump start on next years calendar.  We are also aware that many festivals, fairs, and the like are booked well in advance.  If you'd like to book us, or if you know of someone that would, please have them email: info@soundoffaith.com or, simply respond to this email and I'll direct it to our scheduling person and we'll be back in touch.

On behalf of all of the members of Sound of Faith, as well as Sound of Faith Ministries, Inc.,
Thank you - and GOD BLESS!

In dealing with some "life issues" at the moment, God has shown me in a very clear and precise way that relationships with other people should be valued among the highest of gifts. It is obvious that all people can't have meaningful relationships with EVERY other person on the planet. And it's also true that you won't even get along with everyone that you see on a daily basis. However, in the relationships that you already have; think and reflect a moment on what your life would be like without them in it. If you truly value that relationship, it should put minor disagreements and arguments in the proper context so that the relationship does not suffer.

Now, for those people that you do not come into daily contact with, you can still have a positive influence. And, again, there does not have to be an argument here either. I've always heard people "argue" that we shouldn't "save the kids in Africa when we have poverty here in America." Well, guess what, has it ever crossed your mind that we can do both? Why not? There is always someone less fortunate than yourself that you can help out. I'm not speaking monetarily here; though that may be the case. Have you ever helped carry in the groceries for an elderly person, changed a tire in a parking lot for a total stranger, or even jump started a car for someone? Do you have any idea what a blessing that may have been to them? I can tell you I've done those things in the past and the peace and joy that was put in MY heart is indescribable.

Well, if you've read this far, I hope I've helped you see that there is still a need for love and kindness in the world. And it doesn't have to be you that gives the homeless person on the corner a nickel or dime. But it does have to be somebody that helps them in some way. Instead of arguing with someone about who to help, how to help them, and when; just be sure to help someone, every chance YOU get, in the way that YOU are best able. I can guarantee that you will be a better person for it... and they should be too.

1 a : one attached to another by affection or esteem b : ACQUAINTANCE
2 a : one that is not hostile b : one that is of the same nation, party, or group

Friend(According to me): One who I can go a long, long time without seeing or speaking to and, upon seeing again, carry on as if we'd just spoken yesterday.

WOW! As they say at Redeemer's Light:  God is good; ALL THE TIME!  I can say that His presence was felt at Redeemer's Light on Sunday morning and I'm sure he'll be with us this Sunday night at Midway UMC in Kannopolis, NC.  We are so excited to see our ministry growing and expanding; we certainly hope that it is pleasing to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
