I dislike the letter X. It is a stupid letter. It is not needed. And how on earth do children learn how it is pronounced? I have just looked at who knows how many alphabet charts, and they all teach the letter "x" as sounding like "Xylophone" (the "zz" sound), or "x-ray" (the "ex" sound). The letter "X" sounds neither like "zz" or "ex". Its sounds like "cks" as in "fox". Only one chart has listed Fox with the letter X. Still, wouldn't it be easier if the word STARTED with the correct "x" sound?.
There is none. That's right. I cannot think of any word, that a child would or could know, that would start with the correct "x" sound. I can't think of any at all. Every other letter, there is no problems. Thus I think we should just ditch the letter X all together. We can spell Fox, Focks, just like socks. And Xylophone can Zylophone. Much better.
And while I'm on the topic of letters, why do some people classify the letter "y" as a vowel?! We do NOT say "An yellow car". We say "A yellow car". It is not a vowel. The end.
Ok, im finished ranting now. Will someone help me banish the letter 'X'? lol
