Hide your cupcakes because the birthday monster is here! It's ok though as the monster motif shirt isn't at all scary (unless you're spooked of candles being blown out in a single breath and missing cake and ice cream!). This whimsical, appliqued guy has a big smiling face, button eyes (securely fastened of course) and outstretched hands complete with a cupcake decorated with the number of candles of the birthday child.

Frida Kahlo is a source of inspiration for me, both her vibrantly-hued, emotionally-charged Surrealist paintings (55 of which were self portraits) as well as her ability to overcome such extreme obstacles throughout her lifetime. So it is only fitting that there are several liliputians designs directly inspired by this famous painter.

Our newest shirt design is an homage to Frida, with a multi-layered and detailed applique depicting her self portrait in traditional Mexican dress with pet monkey, a heart milagro and tropical flowers (including a ribbon rose accent in her hair which gives the applique a 3-dimensional aspect). The shirt is available in girls and women sizes and can be made on a variety of shirt colors (white, black, chocolate brown, pink, light blue or lavender). We have a sweet tooth that must inspire us when making new designs. Because the latest outfit by liliputians is all about cookies, chocolate chip ones!

Colorful, retro cookie jar fabric is paired with a cookies and cream print for a fun, appliqued outfit. The peasant style shirt is comfy and play-friendly yet, stylish in design with a ruffled neckline, gathered sleeves & red accent edges. The matching jeans have a cookie print ruffle at the bottom hem, red ric rac accent and a row of individually appliqued cookie jars. More cookie jar appliques are on the front right knee along with some cookie appliques on the back pockets.

And to top it off for dessert, how about a pair of cookie hair clips? Handmade polymer clay realistic buttons make a fun pair of barrettes. Simply yummy . . . and calorie free!

We're a little late with these, but there was absolutely no way we could wait an entire year to add them to the liliputians boutique. Check out our fun, retro and kinda kitschy new button barrettes for Halloween! Each pair is unique as they are made from handmade polymer clay buttons sewn onto our ribbon-wrapped hair clippies.

There are smiling Jack O' Lantern Pumpkin Dotty Barrettes and then the grinning Black Cat Dotty Barrettes. Personally we plan on sporting the black cats year round - not just for Halloween.

Fall is here and so are some more new fall fashions from liliputians NYC. Anyone familiar with liliputians, knows of our love of polka dots and all things groovy. Well the newest outfit, Groovy Mushrooms & Polka Dots, combines both!

The poet blouse (available in long or short sleeves) is a classic style with a fun twist from being made of a tiny red and white polka dot print. It has red shirring at the neckline and cuffs giving the flowing top a touch of ruffles and a punch of more color. The polka dot mushroom applique (made from a fun Japanese import fabric) of the front left give it a dose of groovy.

The matching denim pants have a contrast cuff of the a row of the groovy polka dot mushrooms. A band of wide red ric rac accents the seam. Wear them cuffed or uncuffed as your little one grows.

Do you have a little helper? We do! Our little girl is quite the Miss Fix It. She loves nothing better than to help daddy or mommy when we're doing a project around the house or some light carpentry. She has her own play tools but there's nothing like letting a little one actually "help" you with your grown-up project and watch them beam! Our little helper was the inspiration for the latest liliputians tool time outfits for both girl and boy.
