Thanks to everyone who came out to the Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana for our gig w/ Uli Jon Roth & Friends. It was a great show and we hope to be back there soon.
A concert theatre full of Uli fans is guaranteed to include quite a few guitarists coming to see some master shredding. With Taz and Uli playing on the same bill, they certainly got more than they bargained for as Taz put on a guitar clinic of his own with the new CD's title track "Straight Up" as a highlight of the evening.
TTB played an entirely brand new set from the "Straight Up" CD with Keith Slack on vocals fronting the band for the first time. Keith flew in especially for this gig and gave an amazing vocal performance. It's easy to see why some critics have drawn comparisons to Keith with "David Coverdale in his prime"! Anyone who has heard Keith sing or seen him perform knows this guy is the real deal! Special thanks to keyboardist Bruce Conners for stepping in on short notice, learning all the tunes in record time and turning in a great performance! Nice job Bruce! Pre-show was a great opportunity to hang out backstage and chatting with Uli Jon Roth, Carmine Appice, Mark Boals, and to connect with our good friend Martin Motnik who spent a few weeks on tour in Europe last spring with his band The Roxx. We're working on more shows coming soon! Cheers, TTB

Fans and Critics alike are giving "Straight Up" the Thumbs Up! Check out some of these excellent reviews!! Full Review Here.... http://www.rockrealms.com/archive/t/ttb_su.php "One More Night' is, just, well, wow! Words cannot describe how cool this song is. It's laid back with a veneer of funk to start with and then, as it approaches the crescendo, the chorus suddenly bursts in and takes your breath away. It's quite unlike anything I've heard in a long time and is utterly captivating. The guitar playing is simply perfect and the singing is, if possible, even better... I love it! "Straight Up is a smile-inducingly solid album."... "the performances are all A+ rated. Claudia Ehrhardt
Melodic.Net - CD Review - TTB "Straight Up" "First song that hooked me up was the great The Fugitive that rocks good with strong riffs and a melodic chorus a'la Rainbow and it’s great to listen to Keith’s powerful voice." "What You Need smells Whitesnake for miles." " Information Overload is filled with lovely riffs from Taz and a Thin Lizzy sounding chorus, really good stuff!" "if you're into guitar based hardrock that flirts with both the 70s and 80s and contains some first class vocals then Straight Up is an album to check out."
STRUTTER'Zine - TTB "Straight Up" CD Review.
TAZ TAYLOR BAND ‘STRAIGHT UP' (ESCAPE MUSIC) "It’s almost impossible to go the wrong way when you are such an excellent guitarist as TAZ TAYLOR from Birmingham, UK and you have a superb lead singer called KEITH SLACK (MSG, STEELHOUSE LANE) on lead vocals" (Keith Slack) "can go anywhere with his range, melodic, soulful, bluesy, raw, etc. and never sound out of tune. He sounds like DAVID COVERDALE sounded in his heydays!" "Also the guitarwork of TAZ TAYLOR is really awesome, while songs like “The Fugitive”, ”Information overload” (excellent guitar solo), “What you need” and “In Harms way” (hello early 1980s WHITESNAKE) are all great UK style Melodic Hardrocksongs that also reveal influences from the late 70s sound of UFO, RAINBOW, GARY MOORE, MSG and THIN LIZZY besides the obvious WHITESNAKE similarities. A total must for fans of mentioned bands! More at: www.taztaylor.com and www.myspace.com/taztaylorband (Points: 8.7 out of 10)

We are very pleased to announce that our new CD entitled...
"Straight Up"
is officially released today!

Straight up is available for sale from our offical myspace site, taztaylor.com, Amazon, Music by mail, and dozens of other online sellers!
The album is 11 Tracks of Raw, Powerful and Heartfelt Hard Rock and is everything you would expect from TTB and more!
Taz has completely out-done himself on this CD. He has managed to distill all the best aspects of his style of playing into 11 tracks of searing guitar. Soaring leads, Heavy Riffs, Powerful transitions.Taz Taylor's guitar playing on this album is a high wire act without the net!
Val Trainor powers the TTB engine with aggressive hard hitting drumming. His contribution to “Straight Up” is a punchy, driving ballistic performance with classic hard rock style.
Keith Slack on vocals is a very welcome addition to TTB, Some of our fans my know Keith from his time as lead vocalist with MSG also appearing on MSG's 2000 live album, from his recent solo work or from his earlir band Steelhouse Lane. Keith has gone all out on this record. His voice and delivery are incredible! Lyrically Keith takes you a powerful & emotional journey! We feel that as a vocalist and an artist he is among the best of the best! After listening to the CD, you will too!
Our good friend Don Airey was generous to lend his awesome talent to the title track "Straight Up" Don Airey who closes out the album as only someone of his pedigree could. His haunting piano solos provide the perfect coda to the CD.
The title of the CD, the new songs and even the album design reflect a more direct and back to basics approach to our music. This is a straight ahead, pure and honest hard rock album. We hope you enjoy it! Peace,
TTB
