An important insight has awakened me. The problem with music and art today isn't completely our fault. It is what we have become due to outside influences such as, the mainstream media and corporatism. As a result of those things, the world is over-saturated by posers. People searching for their 15 minutes of fame. These people care about one thing...themselves. It seems like there was solidarity amongst people in the past music movements such as punk. People were part of a bigger picture. They were part of a movement, not just a scene. I don't want a scene. I don't care how you dress. I don't care how you look. I don't want fans.
As far as I'm concerned, I call my fans friends. I don't want fans to succumb to an idol. You are part of our family. I want to share with you what I create. You are promised fun and are allowed to feel emotions when I play. I want you to dance, slam, cry and feel. The difference between the posers and what I'm striving for is FEELING. Anyone can make blip bleep sounds on a laptop and call their friends and say "Hey, Listen to the blip bleeps that I made."
I want people that I do not know to come to shows, hang out with me and introduce themselves. I want to hug them and say "Thank you! Sit with us and hang out. We aren't rock stars. WE ARE YOU! - people who make music and share it with you." These sounds are not created so that we can have our small circle of elitist friends think we are cool. I'm no better then you. I simply carefully craft my skills to make something of quality that I want to share. I make statements that you may disagree with or agree with, doesn't matter.
Now let's hang out and have a good time! Be a part of my family, a family of musicians & artists that want to passionately share their art with you. I'm sure that you have something to share, like maybe your company. If you want to come see mindfluxfuneral or Flutter, wear whatever the fuck you want, BE whoever you want. Have fun and enjoy the show!
i love all of you
