Better late than never as we have finally gotten a string of waves and I have been back to work shootin and enjoying the California Lifestyle! I just wanted to say a HUGE Thanks for all the support with the last showing of "Art As Therapy" consisting of myself and Mr. Wade Koniakowsky. WIth a beautiful night came the beautiful people out to the Ocean Art Studio in Solona Beach Friday. With Wahoo's to fill the belly and Karl Strauss letting us sample some of their wonderful beverages, the eye candy and art purchasing was just , well, as smooth and enjoyable as the beer and wine.

Attendees were overheard with comments being thrown around like "fresh", "exciting" and "amazing", as the show was a great success and thrilled everyone who attended.

A huge thanks to Infinity board shop for the donated boards and glassing. These are some of the finest art peices Mr. Steele has done to date. (see attatched imagery)

Art As Therapy: A sensual blend of painting and photography that draws its energy from the ocean, designed to soothe the psyche with color and form. The art is created by two artists who have been deeply touched by a life near and in the sea.
On the photography side of the equation is Jon Steele- seasoned water photographer shooting for the likes of Surfer, Surfing, Transworld Surf, Surfer's Path, Men's Journal and the New York Times. Jon now holds the post of Photo Editor for the ever expanding Surfshot Magazine - based in San Diego and now covering all of California surfing.
Jon will join painter Wade Koniakowsky, owner of the Ocean Art Gallery. Wade is a nationally known ocean artist bringing to life the warmth and color of the tropics in oil paint. Together these two artists will present the latest imagery from their travels and time in the studio in what promises to be therapy for the ocean loving soul.

Sponsors include Surfshot Magazine, Wahoo's Fish Tacos, Infinity Surfboards and Sector 9 Skateboards.

My old roomate who is an amazing man has created the Doogood Conservatory about 8 years ago.
IT is a program to benefit underprivelidged kids who cant afford skateboards and surfboards.
It is basically a library kids can "check" out a board and pads donated by the industry to use for the day at parks and return them once done..
