She jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room.  She    said:  'How is my little boy ?  Is he going to be all right ?  When can I see him ?'

The surgeon said, 'I'm sorry.  We did all we could, but your boy didn't make it.'

Sally said, 'Why do little children get cancer ?  Doesn't God care any more ?  Where were you, God, when my son needed you ?'

The surgeon asked, 'Would you like some time alone with your son ?  One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he's transported to the university.'

Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good bye to her son.  She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair.  'Would you like a lock of his hair ?' the nurse asked.

Sally nodded yes.  The nurse cut a lock of the boy's hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally.

The mother said, 'It was Jimmy's idea to donate his body to the University for Study.  He said it might help somebody else.  'I said no at first, but Jimmy said, 'Mom, I won't be using it after I die.  Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom.'  She went on, 'My Jimmy had a heart of gold.  Always thinking of someone else.  Always wanting to help others if he could.'

Sally walked out of Children's Mercy Hospital for the last time, after spending most of the last six months there.  She put the bag with Jimmy's belongings on the seat beside her in the car.

The drive home was difficult.  It was even harder to enter the empty house.  She carried Jimmy's belongings, and the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her son's room.

She started placing the model cars and other personal things back in his room exactly where he had always kept them.  She laid down across his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried herself to sleep.

It was around midnight when Sally awoke.  Laying beside her on the bed was a folded letter.  The letter said  :

'Dear Mom, I know you're going to miss me;  but don't think that I will ever forget you, or stop loving you, just 'cause I'm not around to say 'I Love You'.  I will always love you, Mom, even more with each day. Someday we will see each other again.  Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you won't be so lonely, that's okay with me.  He can have my room and old stuff to play with.  But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn't like the same things us boys do. You'll have to buy her dolls and stuff girls like, you know.  Don 't be sad thinking about   me. &m happy, this really is a neat place.  Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some places, but it will take a long time to see everything.  The angels are so cool.  I love to watch them fly.  And, you know what?  Jesus doesn't look like any of his pictures.  Yet, when I saw Him, I knew it was Him.  Jesus himself took me to see GOD !  And guess what, Mom ?  I got to sit on God's knee and talk to Him, like I was somebody important.  That's when I told Him that I wanted to write you a letter, to tell you good bye and everything  But I already knew that wasn't allowed.  Well, you know what Mom ?   God handed me some paper and His own personal pen to write you this letter.  I think Gabriel is the name of the angel who is going to drop this letter off to you.
God said for me to g ive you the answer to one of the questions you asked Him 'Where was He when I neede d him ?'  'God said He wa s in the same place with me, as when His son Jesus was on the cross.  He was right there, as He always is with all His children.  Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what I've written except you.  To everyone else this is just a blank piece of paper.  Isn't that cool ? I have to give God! His pen back now. He needs it to write some more names in the Book of Life.  Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper.  I'm sure the food will be great.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you.  I don't hurt anymore.  The cancer is all gone.  I'm glad because I couldn't stand that pain anymore and God couldn't stand to see me hurt so much, either.  That's when He sent The Angel of Mercy to come get me.  The Angel said I was a Special Delivery !

How about  that?

Signed with Love from God, Jesus & Me.

(Let's see Satan stop this one. )  Take 60 seconds and repost this, within the hour, you will have caused a multitude of believer s to pray to God for each other.  Then sit back and feel the Holy Spirit work in your life for doing what you know God loves 'When you're down to nothing, God is up to something.'

fat loss mistakes

1. Decisions and Goal-Setting Wastes Time

*Attached to this email is my before and after picture. The before picture was taken in 2000, I am attaching my most recent after picture,  November 2007 to show you that once you get to your goal it can be maintained. I am proof that nothing can change a person like the decision and determination to be your BEST!

The new year is finally here and with it comes a fresh new opportunity for rebirth. All the speed bumps, impediments, challenges, road blocks, and frustrations that stood in the way of your 2007 dreams are part of the past. They are all so 2007!! And with this shining new opportunity to be reborn in the new year comes a clean slate and the tools to really make it happen. 2008 brings with it a fertile soil for you to plant all of your seeds of empowerment â€" to set your intentions and to make this year your year of profound commitment and transformation. Live in the NOW, 2008. - Frances

Don't fail to make the decision up front.
Are you kidding me? Of course you've made the decision. You know you want to get rid of that extra tire, exchange the six-pack of beer for the type of six-pack you can show, rather than share, at the beach. It was a simple choice, wasn't it? You're sick and tired of being overweight, so it's time to go. Right? Wrong again. Wrong!

The biggest mistake many people make is starting a fat loss program without truly making a decision. Sure, we know you want to get rid of the extra weight, but have you stopped to truly think about why? It may seem trivial, but having a deep, meaningful reason is critical to success.

It is one thing to throw the scale into the corner and bust down the gym door with a barbaric yell and start smashing iron around. Eventually, you will lose that initial high, and reality will come crashing down in its entire splendor.

You spent years filling those sacks of adipose tissue (fat) with extra fat calories, so why would you expect them to empty their precious load overnight? You'll prepare a healthy meal and suddenly it will look too bland, or even revolting, and the only thought on your mind will be something taboo -- something unhealthy.

Or you will hear the alarm blaring and decide you are just too tired. You might be staring at your dumbells and suddenly get the uneasy notion that it is mocking you, and decide you don't feel like struggling with the sweat and pain today.

It is during these moments of weakness that the decision comes into play. If you just jumped into the endeavor chances are, it will be just as easy to jump out.

Sure, you are overweight, but man, that meal makes you happy, so you're just gonna sit down and have it anyway, right?

Oh, yeah, you wanted to drop weight, but these workouts are tough, and don't you just want to rest? Sure, you can rest. There is always tomorrow to train.

You know what? It has been a rough week. Let's just start over again next week.

You lull and coddle yourself into a pipe dream that isn't real, but hey, you let it seem real -- you let it pull you in. You haven't truly committed to anything, so it gives you a nice, comfortable back door -- push the eject button and stay awhile.

Let's get real. You've spent many years living a certain way. You do not know what it feels like to be lean, strong, and healthy. Sure, you can try to imagine it or read articles about it, but how does it really feel?

Don't you owe it to yourself to make a choice -- an informed decision? Can't you handle living a few months differently than you have before, even if you hate every moment of it, if it means emerging from the other side with a new physique, a new you? It might be a battle, but then you will know what it feels like to come out victorious. If it isn't what you had it chalked up to be, feel free to lapse and fall back into old habits. But you will never really know for certain if you don't give it a try.

Make a goal. But don't just make it. Make it real. Make it tangible. It should not be "I will lose weight."

Instead, "I will lose 40 pounds," is better.

"I will lose 40 pounds by July of next year" is probably best.

Did you know that the only difference between a dream and a goal is a deadline? You need a specific deadline. You want something realistic?

This is the real thing. A Real Transformation. These are not touched up pictures with a professional model.

If you are overweight, you can transform yourself. You just have to be willing to do it. And unlike the infomercials' promise, it is not instant and it is not easy.

Consider this:

Men can typically lose between 0.5 - 1.5 percent of their body weight per week in fat if they are aggressively performing cardio, resistance training, and eating in a healthy way. Women are more in the 0.5 - 1 percent range.

If you are male and sitting at 300 pounds, then look to lose between 6 - 18 percent of your weight (18 - 54 pounds) in 12 weeks.

Wow, a big range, I know, but let's get real -- you know where you are starting and how well you will stick to it. Slow and steady? 18 pounds is comfortable. You think you're ready to go all out, and hit it like no tomorrow? Then set those sights high and take the 54 pounds.

It is not enough just to want to lose the weight. You need compelling reasons. If you don't have them, your mind will play tricks with you every step of the way. It is very easy to talk yourself into "I will be happy if I just eat this piece of food so I am going to do it" -- if you don't have a solid reason not to.

Just want to drop the weight? Who cares? Take an eternity! Doing it for health? Then realize this isn't something to stop and start at will -- it is a full-time commitment. If you are doing it for your children, then know that you need to set a consistent example around the clock, not just when it is convenient.

Set those goals, know your reasons, and explain how you will achieve the goals. Write your goals down. Put them on paper. Share the word with everyone you are comfortable with. Print multiple copies and carry them with you. Read them every day. Most importantly, make a solid decision. Don't lie to yourself and sell yourself short, don't trash your goals by making poor dietary choices and skipping workouts -- this is a major undertaking. And once you form your decision, be willing to see it through to the end.

Are you concerned about the possibility of getting cancer? Would you like to reduce your risk? Cancer rates are going up, not down, The Wall Street Journal reported recently. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States - only cardiovascular disease kills more people each year. More people than ever are diagnosed with this dreaded disease and many professionals now concede we should concentrate more effort on prevention. Reduce Your Risk Detoxify Your Home Incorporate a Healthy Lifestyle Cancer Prevention TipsCancer occurs when the cell's replication process is disturbed (by a poison, chemical, virus, or other agent). Under normal circumstances, erratic reproduction of cells is kept in check by your body's immune system. However, your immune system can be weakened by stress, prolonged deficiencies of certain protective dietary nutrients, exposure to free radicals or harmful chemicals, or an infection. In these cases, some of the errant cells may escape detection and multiply out of control. Keeping your immune system healthy is the main key to preventing cancer.Reduce Your Risk through Prevention!Traditionally, the medical community has focused on addressing cancer after it develops. However, many doctors now endorse cancer prevention as part of their practice. In a letter published in the September 16, 2002 issue of The Scientist, health professionals across the nation suggested several steps you can take to reduce your risk for cancer. They recommend that you: * Maintain a proper weight * Eliminate your use of tobacco and alcohol * Reduce or eliminate your exposure to pesticides and herbicides, especially on lawns and around homes * Make other lifestyle changes to improve your healthDetoxify Your HomeYou may be surprised by how many cancer-causing agents there are in common household and lawn care products. Minimizing exposure to these products reduces your risk - it's that simple. Make sure that you: * Read labels carefully, inspecting them for cancer-causing compounds * Get rid of dangerous or toxic cleaning and lawn care supplies * Purchase environmentally friendly products * Dispose of old or unneeded chemicals safely. (Don't just toss them in the trash because children or pets can get into them, and the chemicals can pollute groundwater) * Store questionable products in a well-ventilated area (gases can leak even from closed containers)Incorporate a Healthy LifestyleThe old adage "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" still holds true today. A diet high in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and other protective nutrients fortifies the well-being of each cell in your body. You can defend your health by: * Taking a daily multivitamin * Eating a nutritious diet that includes fresh foods high in fiber and antioxidants * Reducing your stress levels * Exercising for at least 30 minutes, 5-6 times weekly * Reducing ultraviolet radiation exposure. (Both the sun and tanning beds are sources of UV rays) * Using cosmetic and personal care products made with safe and natural ingredientsEven if you take care of your health and minimize your exposure to carcinogens, you may still be at risk for cancer. So remember to get regular medical checkups, as part of your preventive program.Don't wait for cancer to strike! Be proactive and improve your odds by employing some basic wellness steps. Evaluate your diet, environment, and exposure to cancer-causing chemicals. Then make a list of the ways you can positively change your lifestyle and eating habits. Plan your program and start preventing cancer today!

Tammy Van Wisse
and the Access Bar

..
Another Tammy Van Wisse

World Record

Powered By
The Fat Burning Access® Bar!

On Sunday, June 6th, after nine hours, 56 minutes and 57 seconds, world record holding marathon swimmer, Tammy Van Wisse became the first person to ever conquer the Gippsland Lakes – the largest inland waterway system in the southern hemisphere.

Tammy has broken several world records in long distance swimming in her lifetime but she says this 24 mile swim is one she won't forget. "I was probably more swollen from the cold in this swim than any other swim," she says. "I started at 4:00 a.m. and it was minus 2 degrees Celsius! It was so cold that my crew couldn't stay in the boat. They had to rotate because they couldn't drive the boat. Their hands were freezing," she adds. "My whole body was swollen when I got out. In fact, when I finished I couldn't even see my knuckles. It took about 48 hours for the swelling to go down in my hands."

With extreme conditions such as these, many people wonder how Tammy's accomplishments are possible! Since swimming competitively from age 11 Tammy has swum over 60,000 kilometers in her lifetime and she came to Convention in Salt Lake City to tell us how she does it!

"I've swum over 60,000 kilometers in my life and 50,000 of those were powered by the Access Bar!" she said as the crowd exploded in applause. "I've used this product for over 10 years now and I wouldn't use anything else. My success is a combination of being strong mentally and using the Access Bar to go beyond what people consider achievable," she says.

And the Access Bar helps her do this because it is made with patented food ingredients that contain "adenosine receptor antagonists" which, simply put, allow the body to more quickly convert fat into energy which the body can gain access to and burn during exercise. When taken 15 minutes before any workout the Access Bar "overrides" the energy-sapping effects of adenosine so the body is able to burn more fat, burst energy levels, minimize fatigue, reduce lactic acid build-up, and increase muscle fiber recruitment for a more efficient workout. It allows the body to naturally burn more fat and get more out of your workouts. Tammy says while her positive attitude and mental strength take her a long way, she won't go without the Access Bar!

"I try to maintain a very positive attitude and mostly I smile and laugh while I'm swimming. I can even talk in between freestyle strokes!" she laughs. "The crew in the boat next to me has a whiteboard and writes me messages – sometimes information like how many kilometers to go, and also when it's time to feed. I have a cup of tea in the water every 20 minutes and I eat half an Access Bar every 40 minutes to keep me going. The difference the Access Bar makes in my swims is immense! I basically live and breathe the Access Bar. I am a walking billboard for the Access Bar."

Tammy says after accomplishing such a difficult swim, her crew was astounded when she woke up the next morning without a hint of soreness! "The next morning I woke up and had no muscle fatigue whatsoever and my crew was amazed," she laughs. "They told me, 'We were just sitting on the boat all day and we're exhausted!'"

As one of the most accomplished swimmers in the world, Tammy's strong endorsement of the Access Bar has people coming from all over to learn more about it. "I put on eight kilos for this swim," she says. "And I lost six of the kilos during the swim. I mentioned that on the radio station after my swim and the phones started ringing off the hook. Everyone wanted to know where they could get these bars!"

The radio wasn't the only place Tammy was highlighted. "Discovery Channel spent a whole day filming me and the crew with underwater cameras, capturing how my stroke works and filming me eating an Access Bar," she says. "They are going to show what happens in your body when you eat these bars." The show will air in on the Discovery Health Channel and reach over 550 million viewers worldwide!*

"I'm very passionate about marathon swimming," she says. "I love what I do. To do this sort of sport you have to," she laughs. "And while we all ride this rollercoaster called life and no one is immune to the many ups and downs it presents to us, if you teach yourself to look for the ups and concentrate your focus on these, then your ride will be a lot more enjoyable."

We would like to extend a warm congratulations to Tammy for all of her success and a big thanks for visiting with Marketing Executives at Convention to share her inspiring experiences!

There is a Mom out there that has just moved to a new place.  She is home with her kids but has no friends nearby.  She cleans the house, takes care of the kids, and gets no recognition.  She desperately needs outside stimulation and a pat on the back.  I am looking for that Mom.  She needs us!

There is a Mom out there that has a child who suffers with eczema.  She has tried everything and nothing helps her child. I am looking for that Mom.  She needs us!

There is a Mom whose child suffers with ADHD and does not want her child to be drugged anymore. She needs us!

There is a Mom out there that has to ask her husband for permission to go shopping or buy something for the kids.  She feels trapped because he is the only one that WORKS as for as he sees it.  I want that Mom to have a check with her name on it.  I am looking for that Mom.  She needs us!

Current mood:  thoughtful
[From Sports Illustrated, By Rick Reilly]

I try to be a good father. Give my kids mulligans. Work nights to pay For their text messaging. Take them to swimsuit shoots.

But compared with Dick Hoyt, I suck.

Eighty-five times he's pushed his disabled son, Rick, 26.2 miles in Marathons. Eight times he's not only pushed him 26.2 miles in a Wheelchair but also towed him 2.4 miles in a dinghy while swimming and Pedaled him 112 miles in a seat on the handlebars--all in the same day.

Dick's also pulled him cross-country skiing, taken him on his back Mountain climbing and once hauled him across the U.S. On a bike. Makes Taking your son bowling look a little lame, right?

And what has Rick done for his father? Not much--except save his life.
This love story began in Winchester , Mass. , 43 years ago, when Rick Was strangled by the umbilical cord during birth, leaving him Brain-damaged and unable to control his limbs.

"He'll be a vegetable the rest of his life;'' Dick says doctors told him And his wife, Judy, when Rick was nine months old. ``Put him in an Institution.''

But the Hoyts weren't buying it. They noticed the way Rick's eyes Followed them around the room. When Rick was 11 they took him to the Engineering department at Tufts University and asked if there was Anything to help the boy communicate. ``No way,'' Dick says he was told. ``There's nothing going on in his brain.''

"Tell him a joke,'' Dick countered. They did. Rick laughed. Turns out a Lot was going on in his brain. Rigged up with a computer that allowed Him to control the cursor by touching a switch with the side of his Head, Rick was finally able to communicate. First words? ``Go Bruins!'' And after a high school classmate was paralyzed in an accident and the School organized a charity run for him, Rick pecked out, ``Dad, I want To do that.''

Yeah, right. How was Dick, a self-described ``porker'' who never ran More than a mile at a time, going to push his son five miles? Still, he Tried. ``Then it was me who was handicapped,'' Dick says. ``I was sore For two weeks.''

That day changed Rick's life. ``Dad,'' he typed, ``when we were running, It felt like I wasn't disabled anymore!''

And that sentence changed Dick's life. He became obsessed with giving Rick that feeling as often as he could. He got into such hard-belly Shape that he and Rick were ready to try the 1979 Boston Marathon.

``No way,'' Dick was told by a race official. The Hoyts weren't quite a Single runner, and they weren't quite a wheelchair competitor. For a few Years Dick and Rick just joined the massive field and ran anyway, then They found a way to get into the race Officially: In 1983 they ran another marathon so fast they made the Qualifying time for Boston the following year.

Then somebody said, ``Hey, Dick, why not a triathlon?''

How's a guy who never learned to swim and hadn't ridden a bike since he Was six going to haul his 110-pound kid through a triathlon? Still, Dick Tried.

Now they've done 212 triathlons, including four grueling 15-hour Ironmans in Hawaii . It must be a buzzkill to be a 25-year-old stud Getting passed by an old guy towing a grown man in a dinghy, don't you Think?

Hey, Dick, why not see how you'd do on your own? ``No way,'' he says. Dick does it purely for ``the awesome feeling'' he gets seeing Rick with A cantaloupe smile as they run, swim and ride together.

This year, at ages 65 and 43, Dick and Rick finished their 24th Boston Marathon, in 5,083rd place out of more than 20,000 starters. Their best Time? Two hours, 40 minutes in 1992--only 35 minutes off the world Record, which, in case you don't keep track of these things, happens to Be held by a guy who was not pushing another man in a wheelchair at the Time.

``No question about it,'' Rick types. ``My dad is the Father of the Century.''

And Dick got something else out of all this too. Two years ago he had a Mild heart attack during a race. Doctors found that one of his arteries Was 95% clogged. ``If you hadn't been in such great shape,'' One doctor told him, ``you probably would've died 15 years ago.'' So, in a way, Dick and Rick saved each other's life.

Rick, who has his own apartment (he gets home care) and works in Boston, and Dick, retired from the military and living in Holland, Mass. , always find ways to be together. They give speeches around the country and compete in some backbreaking race every weekend, including this Father's Day.

That night, Rick will buy his dad dinner, but the thing he really wants to give him is a gift he can never buy.

``The thing I'd most like,'' Rick types, ``is that my dad sit in the chair and I push him once.''
