so
this past week and a half or so i have noticed something that is sort of disturbing. as most of y'all know, i am living in ohio again. and the past couple weeks have been some what of a drunken blur, what with irish fest, and all that. in the course of the few weeks i've been able to check out a couple new bars that i hadn't been to. the ages of the people at the bars i've been frequenting tend to be pretty varied. however, there is one thing i noticed a lot last night, and have vague recollections of hearing about at other times, is that many people have this sort of unhealthy fascination with high school.
like last night for instance
there was some girl, who i believe was named tracy. she was probably in her early thirties or so. all she was doing was talking about high school. and what her life was like then. and the sports she played. and the sports she didnt play but wished she did. and the cliques of people she hung out with. and the cliques she would never hang out with. and she got mad at some guy that was there because he didn't remember this one girl's name who he had apparantly dated, in high school.
now don't get me wrong, i enjoyed high school. and every now and then i might reflect on what happened, or certain things i did. but to spend an entire night at the bar reminiscing to people that couldn't give two shits about your high school experience is a little bit much. and i've been noticing all these people in their thirties and forties, all they want to talk about is the times in high school. i understand that life can get mundane sometimes, but are so many people's lives so incredibly boring that the most exciting thing that has ever happened to them is high school? that is phenomenally sad. im only 23, and already have stories to tell, and things to look back on that are not high school, or related to it in any way, other than some of the people may have been in both. its not that hard to find fun things to do that are memorable. anyways, sort of a long blog, so im gonna get goin. just needed to vent
if anyone has any insight into this phenomenon, and why high school was apparantly so much more exciting for everyone but me, please inform me.
take care of yourselves, and thanks for reading.

so this weekend was indeed fucking amazing, as i had predicted in a former bulletin. this is my version of it. dave d has a few blogs about his version. so here goes
first off, a premise: Dave D and James from Ohio came to visit me. Dave D is the one from the Memphis stories, and James was the self-proclaimed best man in my wedding.
So, they got here thursday morning at like 645. they drove through the night, so we did the normal thing, and didnt sleep. We chilled a bit in my room, then i took them to College Perk, where we had some food, and dave and i experienced the morning bloody mary. by the way, college perks bloody maries are pretty much liquid cocktail sauce. you either love it or you hate it. i didnt love it. anyways, from then, we went to DC, so that dave could see the sights and sounds of our great capitol. James didnt want to see them so much, but seemed to enjoy himself, tho he didnt like the profanity that streamed from dave and myselfs mouth because he said there were kids around. these kids were in fact the main reason for the majority of the obscenities. there is no fucking reason that 13 year old girls need to be A: in large groups in the city, and B: dress like 2 dollar hookers. WHAT THE FUCK. anyways. found out that the museums are free, and serve beer. so we went to the art museum, and the natural history museum, and the air and space museum. The air and space museum had the original enterprise from star trek. thats the only thing we saw there. oh, by the way. do not get space food strawberries, no matter how hungry you are. they are horribly nauseating. anyways, we then dined at fado for dinner, which is an amazing restaurant with good drinks, and such phenomenal irish food. best chips in the fucking world... then we went back to base i believe, stayed up, did some mild hanging out, and then retired for the evening.
day 2(Friday) we woke around 11 or 1 or 2. not sure, but it wasnt 12, and im positive about that. so we were plannin on goin up to the fels point in baltimore and walking around that there area. we went to the mall first cuz we had to go to a bank, and there was a bank right outside the mall, so i decided to show them the mall. we walked around the whole thing, i got a journal and a flask and sympathy for mr vengeance and shinobi the movie, and then we saw spiderman 3. came pretty close to gouging my eyes out wiht a spoon during it. it was that bad. then it was like 8 or 9 by the time we got out of there, so we decided to buy premade burgers, and good beer and 2 whiskey bottles and a bottle of captains and throw a bbq. it was well attended. then people chilled in my room for a bit ,and that was the night.
Day 3(FUCKIN SATURDAY) went skydiving. this means i jumped out of a fucking air plane. it was phenomenal. then partied all night, with leftover alcohol from the night before, and then went to tastee diner, and i bought a camcorder off some dude on the street for 20 bucks, and then juan sold it to this biker that was sitting at my table with a hooker for 25 dollars. i was outside smoking at the time, and did not approve the transaction, but also didnt care. oh, said hooker gave brent a kiss cuz i told her he was asian. crazy times. then we came back, chilled a bit more with patty and a couple people, and then retired.
Day 4(TODAY< SUNDAY) they left.
