I met the head dudes of DIGIWAXX while rocking at SXSW... cool cats and they asked if wanted to do the next volume of their podcast/mixtape series for them... So far MOS, DON CANNON, DJ SOUL, and MARK RONSON have thrown down on this so i figured it was a good look... also was a chance for me to sit back and make a tape with allot of the newer hip-hop tracks I am feeling while mixing in some older stuff and keeping it fresh... check it out...

SUPER 7 Vol. 1

DJ JAYCEEOH presents SUPER 7 Vol.1 feat. DJ's STEVE1DER, B.CAUSE, MORSE CODE, PLATURN, BENZI, ELEVEN
http://www.zshare.net/audio/5212168908ee5cdf/
-------

-------

SUPER 7 is an intense mixtape experience, combining the talent of seven world renown DJ's onto one CD. The tape was brought together by DJ JAYCEEOH (NYC, The Masters) and features sets from STEVE1DER (L.A) , B.CAUSE (S.F. 4OneFunk), MORSE CODE (L.A. Deckstar), PLATURN (Oakland Faders), BENZI (MICH), and DJ ELEVEN (NYC, The RUB). Each DJ contributed a 10 minute mega-mix of straight heat including original remixes, mash-ups, edits, and existing material. The vast knowledge of music and individual style of each DJ crammed into one mix makes this a must have for your collection. This is the first of the SUPER 7 series. Volume 2 will drop early 09'  with a whole new line up of DJ's.

"I have always had a grip of DJs I know, have worked with, and respect that I wanted to record with. But with busy schedules, banging out a full 80 mintue mix with heads across the country is extremely time consuming. So I came up with the idea for SUPER 7 to bring together all these collabos and put out crazy tapes without it requiring too much work for any DJ involved. I hollered at cats and asked for a hot 10 minutes. They bang it out in a few sessions and boom...SUPER 7..." - DJ JAYCEEOH

Ughhxclusive Vol. 2

by Chris Faraone
Issue 9.7
Wed, February 14, 2007

One of the saddest casualties of hip-hop's war against oversaturation has been the term "exclusive." Other than it being the only genre in which artists repeatedly reference themselves on record, rap's defining trademark has always been the constant flood of underground material that's available to fans. A lot of what drops is exclusive in the sense that nobody's heard it, but not if you measure exclusivity by whether or not the tracks are worth leaking in the first place. On UX2, Undergroundhiphop.com resident DJ JayCeeOh resuscitates the exclusive mix format with 36 tracks guaranteed to swell some members. JayCeeOh does play favorites—the Special Teamz DJ commissioned crewmember Slaine to smash first, and Jaysaun to bless two rippers—but Boston is well-represented all-around, including prone2 rallying metaphors with Ohio miscreant Copywrite, Virtuoso sparring with R.A. the Rugged Man, and Golden Brown's NODOZ shanking posi-rap stereotypes with enlightened blacktop wisdom. Factor in single-worthy contributions from Rock, Rugged Intellect, MC Exposition, Large Professor, Sabac Red, Sean Price, Insight, Buckshot, Big Shug, Termanology, Jake the Snake, Planet Asia, Pumpkinhead and Nine (yes—Nine!), and you've got a righteous second installment in the toughest mixtape series since DJ Clue's Platinum Plus.

DJ JAYCEEOH - UGHHXCLUSIVE VOL. 1
Reviewed by PAINE (ELEMENTAL MAG) Issue .. 80

One of the resident Djs behind the online hip-hop superstore gets love back frp, the artists in the way opf a grip of exclusives. Though it caters more to the underground, this mix recognizes many levels of the culture witha DJ who knows how to flex his tonearms. Boston hip-hop definitely shines through on this mix. Led by EDO G, the Special Teamz crew explores racisim in the schools and ghettos on "Race Riot." A brassy beat from Goodwill employs strong vocals to enhance this testimonial, which uses hip-hop as an antidote to the problem. Akrobatik and Big Shug also stand out on "XXXclusive," a city praising ode that JayCeeOh enhances with a slick scratch chorus. Outside of the usual suspects, the mix also promotes some rising stars and bigger dogs. Of the rookies Wiz Khalifa shows why he's a blue chip on "Right Track," over a beat that could clain kin to Jay-Z's "So Ghetto." Uptown's Smoke & Numbers also show promise on "Boom-Bap," a street reflection over a jazzy composition. Consequence drops an album- worthy exclusive with two defiantly gangsta verses over a screwed Isley Brothers classis with accented horns. AZ also gives a weighty contribution with "Animal," a Statik Selecktah-produced look at growing hardened over time in the ruthless drug game. JayCeeOh reminds the listener of his skills throughout the mix with scratches, blends, and a very active presence. However, he throws a kitchen sink at the listeners ear with "Cutz Like These," a posse DJ cut with his Deck Demons brethren. This battle-set is a nice break in the music, and gives the mix the technical touch that so many lack, Ughhxclusive is very true to the store's inventory. With a love for the local, plus Boot Camp, Procussions, Lord Jamar, lots of bases are covered. The effort raises a curiosity about some of the newer artists, while offereing strong hold overs from Edo G, COnsequence, and Reef The Lost Cause. JayCeeOh shows why he's a good guy to know in and out of town, and how ughh.com loves the customner back.

SPECIAL TEAMZ
Special Teamz, The Mixtape (Str8up)
Boston hip-hop hybrid

Bona fide Beantown legend Ed OG teams up with Jaysaun of The Creators, Southie's lyrical champ Slaine and turntable phenom Jayceeoh to drop hip-hop chemistry on Special Teamz, The Mixtape. Main Event and Shed a Tear features production from two guys named DJ Premier and Pete Rock, respectively, and each MC holds it down like 1992 while flipping 2006 syllables. Jayceeoh in turn alternates between party rockin' selecta and DMC animal, savagely juggling from one track to the next. Special Teamz successfully updates the style while maintaining the sacred essence. Daniel Muessig

Masters of the universe: Party rocker teams with turntable star to break beyond Boston
By Chris Faraone
Tuesday, April 4, 2006 - Updated: 11:40 AM EST

On the Boston rap scene, opposites dont just attract; they reach global hip-hop audiences.

On&On and JayCeeOh of the Masters may seem a likely pair at first glance. Theyre both heralded DJs who scratch the pulse of Beantown hip-hop. But ask and theyll tell you there are big differences in what they bring to the turntable and in how they trudged through the ranks.

The cornerstone of the Masters is how the best of the Boston party rockers linked up with the best of the turntablists, On&On said of the partnership. We bridged the Bronx sweatbox connection with a kid whos completely up on the latest technology.

On&On hails from the school of loudmouthed club DJs. His quieter partner, JayCeeOh, speaks with his hands using turntables. Together, the two recently hosted MTV Spring Break in Negril, Jamaica, and recorded their Ace in the Hole mixtape, whose release theyll celebrate tonight at Rumor.

We just wanted to bring it all together, JayCeeOh said, hovering over the turntables at McGanns near North Station last week. On and I cover everything from b-boying to songs for girls. Theyre all elements that are keys to a DJs success. You cant be one-dimensional as a DJ.

And JayCeeOh and On&On certainly represent different dimensions.

JayCeeOh, 23, sharpened his technique as a student and DJ at Emerson College. Since graduating in 2004, he has risen rapidly in the Boston rap scene. In addition to the Masters, he also performs with the live hip-hop unit Audible Mainframe, as well as with his four-man Deck Demons DJ collective and the Boston rap all-star squad Special Teamz.

On&On, 28, is an Emerson dropout who honed his hosting skills on New Yorks nightclub scene. After DJing at strip joints and studying such New York legends as Funkmaster Flex for two years, he returned to Boston, where he teamed with artists such as Virtuoso, the Cambridge rapper largely responsible for Bostons mid-90s underground renaissance.

As a team, JayCeeOh and On&On feed on each others expertise. Their debut mixtape manages to fit artists as different as Super Cat, Busta Rhymes and Cyndi Lauper into their wide-open formula.

On&On has a great sense of music and ear, JayCeeOh said. We have really good chemistry. We could remix the Winnie the Pooh soundtrack and it would be hot.

On&On says their connection in the DJ booth stems from more than just a knack for blending classic pop with contemporary hip-hop.

What caught me about JayCeeOh is that he has undeniable talent, On&On said. Beyond that, hes Jewish, so we clicked. Im a Kenyan Jew. I run 24 miles and I feel guilty about it.

Next stop for the Masters: the Netherlands, where theyll host and produce a summer hip-hop festival in Amsterdam. While they could reign in the Boston scene individually, their work together has made them an international attraction.

Everything happened for a reason, On&On said. We put together this supernatural radio rocking DJ with me, someone who survived 11 years in the school of hard knocks. It all makes a lot of sense.
