Hooray, not long now!
Provided we're not all snowed in, our Christmas
party is tomorrow - a usual singers and musicians nights but with the odd
seasonal song and some South Yorkshire Carols thrown in. As a special treat and
reward for us fleecing you for raffle tickets all year for the cheapest wine
available in Barnsley, there is also a free buffet.
Dates confirmed for 2010 are;
Ray Hearne - 18th January
The Young Uns - 15th February
Wizz Jones - 8th May (at Holmfirth
Festival)
Jeni and Billy - 17th May
Plus the Easter Singaround - April 2nd - 4th which
is back at the Shaw Inn. (more details from ray padgett, cc'd
above)
As usual, I am happy to include your events etc in
this newsletter, just get it in to me by the start of the last week of the
month, I'll admit I'm a bit sporadic on that one though.
Thanks for your support over the last year - this
mailing list now exceeds 100 recipients - and gig-wise one of the best we've had
(Jim Eldon, Archie Fisher, FYRISH, John Platt, Wizz Jones, Tom Attah, Richard
Kitson, Swarb, Folk Award Nominees - Gilmore/Roberts, String Theory, Anna
Shannon, Jeni & Billy, Jenny & Dave, Sean & James Cannon, Steve
Turner, Acoustica, Toein' in the Dark, plus a couple I've probably missed)

Hi, Guests at the Shaw in the next month or so; June 22nd - Double Headliner Jeni and Billy & Jenny and Dave Jeni and Billy (USA) Drawing from Traditional Country, Appalachian, Old-time, Country Blues, Bluegrass and Folk music to create their original songs, Jeni & Billy have crafted a unique sound that is truly their own. Together, they will draw you into captivating narratives of heartache and hard living, of true life blues and unexpected grace. Images of coal & crowns, trash & trailers, and glass and gasoline recur, and Jesus and the Great Speckled Bird are never far off. http://www.jeniandbilly.com/bio.htmlJenny and Dave (St Louis Zipper) A real treat , 2/5ths of the goodtime washboard music bad St Louis Zipper, just back from their tour of Devon and Cornwall.
