Oh, it's been a busy, fantastic and chilly few months... We've just returned from Canadian Music Week in Toronto, an amazing trip which followed a scrumptious tour of Europe (thanks to our magical booker, Sandra) in February, during which we met some old buddies, made some new ones, saw tigers, frogs, rat-people, big stages, teeny-tiny stages and snow snow snow. Luckily we brought Rasmus' video camera and he's pieced together a few video diaries... Diary 1Diary 2Diary 3In Toronto, we played four shows, one of which was a great (and secret) Hawaiian birthday party in a kitchen in Kensington, and recorded some songs for Alt. Sessions, a Canadian TV show. It will air on television in Canada in the next couple of months and will then be posted on their website here. We also attended the CMW conference, ate tamari almonds and dried strawberries, froze to death, and ran into lots of Danes and one Danadian, who persuaded us to become citizens of his country, Canmark. We did suffer one tragedy of epic proportions… last summer at Nakke Festival (a little festival up north in Denmark) a sweet festival-goer gave us a small killer whale water gun, which has accompanied us to all of our shows since. On Monday, it was confiscated by a Canadian customs officer who managed to keep a straight face whilst deeming it “a pistol,” as his fellow officers tried to convince him to return it to us. Growl! Oh well, he let us keep the drum sticks, which might easily have begun to look like machetes had he had a little more time to inspect them. To read a review & to see a few photos from 3 of the Canadian shows, click here. And here are some of our own photos from both tours: Hope you're all happy and healthy and having a spring-like March!

Oh it's been a ridiculously long time...
We were busy busy busy this spring and summer, but we had fun fun fun.
In May we flew to Manchester and then we took a scenic train trip to the Lake District, where we played at a festival called Lost in the Woods, befriended some cows, herded some sheep, got snapped at by an angry gas station attendant, and got lost in the woods (for real). Luckily, we found our way home and traveled to Århus to play at SPOT Festival, where we also watched some amazing shows and met some lovely people. Next we played City Attack, a new Copenhagen festival, which drew a great crowd and made a mess of Enghave Plads. Then some of us traveled to Prague, spent a few days wandering the streets with dropped jaws, watched Tom Waits perform in a theater, with dropped jaws, and stole some of his glitter with our grubby little hands. Once home, we drove straight to Rørvig to play Nakke Festival, which was hot as hell, but a good time was had. More recently we played at the beautiful Trinitatis Natkirke and then at Bruunske Pakhus, which was both funny and fun.
And now we're excitedly preparing to head to Brussels to play Spot on Denmark at AB Brussels and then at Cultuurhuis Maison, which is run by the lovable Dieter.
Plus, our dear friend, John Kenn Mortensen, is a brilliant animator (and a brilliant guy) and he's made a video for True Love, which he'll be premiering at Loppen (in Copenhagen) in December and we've been invited to play at the unveiling, so we're also excitedly preparing for that. We'll post his video on our page after the show... it's magical and it's full of monsters.
And that's about all I can say without taking a breath.
Hope you're having a spectacular October and that you'll be doing & wearing something scary on the 31st.

Hey Buddies, We just want to thank those who’ve voted for us on Det Elektriske Barometer’s chart over the last few weeks... we’re number one this week. We’re honored. To see the list, vote for and listen to songs, go here. They generally interview bands when their songs reach number one, but some of us are in Vancouver, some of us are in New York and some of us are in Copenhagen, so we won’t be interviewed until we’re all in one place later this month. Also Jean-Pierre Moya has named Silly Killings album of the month... he hosts a fantastic radio show in France and keeps a great (French) blog here. Oh and a thoughtful (Danish) review of the album here. Yupyupyup... that’s it. Hope everyone’s having a mighty fine April. me with a Canadian beluga. kim in a Canadian bubble.

Hiya Buddies We've added a few songs from Silly Killings (the new album) to our page and to our website… the albums official release date is March 17th, but the distributors have set it up so that full album MP3s are available to those who pre-purchase it. That can be done by clicking the banner at the top of our myspace page. Our release show will be at Loppen (in Copenhagen) on March 13th & we hope to see those of you who are in our neck of the woods. We wish to see those of you who aren't, but we can't afford to fly you here (fiddlesticks!). We'll toast you though… so many sweet messages and much amazing artwork has been left on our page over the last few years. It's warmed our tigery hearts. Hope life's sweet sweet sweet for you and you and you and yours. xx sts our tools P.S. another song from the album was played on the Danish radio show Det Elektriske Barometer tonight. It can be heard here... it's competing to enter their Top Ten list and you can vote for it or any of the other fine songs there as well.

Hej tigers I keep forgetting to update this page (along with all of the other pages that I'm supposed to be updating)... last time I wrote, we'd planned to release the album in January. It will actually be released in March, still by Iwave, but with new distributors, Target, who have been great thus far, so we're tickled with this new arrangement. Our trip to Germany in December was fun fun fun. Kim's added some live photos to our page - along with a picture of Knut... well, a picture of him on a poster. We didn't actually get to see the little fella' in the flesh/fur, but we wandered the streets looking for Knut thingamajigs, of which we found none. Rasmus eventually bought a Knut mug at a shady little shop next to the zoo. Hope everyone's having a sweet January. I'll leave you with my niece's hand.

ahoy!
Holy, I'm a shitty blogger.... it's been a while. Hope everyone's having a sweet September.
We've been working working working. We lugged our studio out of town to a cabin on the water and have just about finished the second album, which will be released in January (I think). A couple of exquisite folk from Liga (our favourite tv show) drove all the way up to our cabin and spent the evening with us. We'll be on the show on Sept 27th. Tonight, they'll have PJ Harvey on at 23:45 (on DR1). If you're not in Denmark, you can watch it online here.
Kim's made our Kid Hereafter a spectacular new website here. Have you heard their dazzling album? Have you seen them play live yet? You should. It's transcendental.
Yup, that's it for now... hope you're all having a very merry fall.
Here are some tourist photos of our trip to the cabin. The wee bulldozer may be all over the album... it was humming & clanging throughout the trip.

Hej Friends,
Tomorrow at 16:00, the brilliant music video show, Liga (DR1), will air their version of the Danish Music Awards & we should all see it. We'll be a part of it... they'll play our video at some point. So, yep, make some popcorn and watch. It'll be good fun.
Also... our new buddies, Detachables, have made some amazing badges for us which we'll be putting on our website. Unfortunately our website's being finicky and temperamental, so we can't put them up just yet, but I really encourage you, if you're a band in need of badges or a person interested in badges, to go here for your badge needs.
The snow's melting and I haven't seen an icicle in a couple of days... maybe spring's on it's way.

My dear friend Jamie Tolagson is brilliant, artistically and otherwise, and he's made a few videos for us, including the video for Blame the View on our page.
His photographs can be seen here, he writes about art, film, music and throws tantrums here and he can be seen below, with me, sometime in the '80s.

After a very fine review of our album, Denmark's Radio has also named it one of the top ten Danish albums of the year. To see the list, go here.
Plus, congratulations to our labelmates A Kid Hereafter who've gone straight to #1 after getting tested on LigaDK's list last week! Good stuff! That fine fellow, Kristian Leth, also said some sweet stuff and played our new video on his show. You can see the show online here by clicking on "seneste udsendelse"... we'll put the video up soon too.
Hope you're all having a sugary winter!
