Oz songbird Kate Miller-Heidke has done the most flawless cover of countrymen Empire Of The Sun's Walking On A Dream, a song we first mentioned in September of 2008.

Miller-Heidke completely reworked the song from a breezy bit of electro perfection into an even more perfect heartbreaking confessional.

Sooooo pretty!

Nick's other band, Empire Of The Sun, will be one of the main-stage headline acts at Australia’s Parklife Festival occurring between 26 Sept and 5 Oct 2009. These dates will mark the first ever live performances by Empire Of The Sun whose debut album Walking On A Dream has surpassed platinum sales in Australia, propelled by the hits Walking On A Dream, We Are The People and new single Standing On The Shore. Walking On A Dream has also been nominated for Song Of the Year at the 2009 APRA Awards.

Front-man and vocalist Emperor Steele says “The show is going to be epic, full of colours, dinosaur-teeth chomping at the valleys of future. It will be more outrageous than the scents of imagination and will take the audience on a journey to another world.”

Lord Littlemore, who does not perform in the live show, says “We created the music as a celebration, this is an exciting new chapter in the Empire journey”.

Empire Of The Sun release their debut album ‘Walking On A Dream’ on Astralwerks today. The electro-psychedelic project led by Luke Steele, the enigmatic wunderkind behind Australia’s The Sleepy Jackson and Pnau’s Nick Littlemore has already reached Platinum status at home in Australia and has been a chart hit worldwide.

The title track “Walking on a Dream” will be iTunes ‘Single of the Week” this week. Fans can download the track for free starting today.

The track, which Rolling Stone has called “an insanely catchy electro-pop tune”, will also be featured on tonight’s episode of 90210. The show airs on the CW Tuesdays at 9pm Eastern / 8pm Central.

London... Monday. One week and one day after arriving. Bleak wet gale blowing outside by our back door towers, dwarfing us in our little flat. Yesterday, in the garden opposite there was a rumble of kids bashing the crapo outta of a pinnyata. Never getting to the goods inside.

We had played the night before at barfly in camden an old haunt of mine where i was once picked in a tussle. Shame really, just empty threats without a story. Sad. Anyways that was years ago and now i find myself working hard at throwing my body back and forth, sweating up heat and storming the stage. 30 minute intensities in one dingy back-room thundering bar at a time. Its been less than ten days and i already feel a distance from back home, falling out with my lady or a loss of warmth. BUT there is a fire inside of me comin from aa different place and it's stronger than the one that i had previous... the vitality that i gets from this place... the chance which can seemingly be achieved, would jus floor me.

This sun of energy is blowing down all this good will on us. All these people we are melting and the response in the faces of our audiences. Hull, a lonely northern town by the sea, we channelled their energies out in the night. And we too experienced the wisdom in their eyes and their well of joy.

PNAU getting back in the van and driving straight to paris was just a qhrlwincx comming at you like 1000.00 kilometers an hour. The blarring of home made speakers on top of the igloo that was our car. Stormy out side while driving down massive stretches of road. Reams of semi trailers lined up, one by one in protest. Like the paragraph of poems on the passage to paris my second home.
