Doogie White with Demon's Eye, Unna ,Germany nov 2009
what a gig...once again!
Doogie White was guest with Demon's Eye for the 3rd or 4th time now while their singer had 2 shows with this all stars classic rock band.
I arrived early, coz I expected traffic jams, grabbed a pitta at a Greek snack and checked the Lindenbrauerei for secret artist entrances, lucky for me there isn't one so we waited outside.
DE was doing soundcheck when Doogie arrived from the airport.
I tried to sneek in with the "shall I carry your bag" trick but Doogie said no no I'm fine :-)
Doogie did the vocals/monitors check and rehearsed some tunes with DE and came back to sign some cd's. He also signed some women's front and "backsides", lucky rockstars :-) also Doogie lend me his iPod for 10 minutes so I could listen to a song from his solo album and a Tank demo!
The show started with the Rainbow intro and Spotlight Kid, I believe there was more Rainbow on the setlist than usual, Doogie dedicated some songs to Ronnie J Dio, I believe they played 160 mins!!!
There was a big crowd and it was a party from the very first minute till the end!
The fact that these musicians never have time for proper rehearsal gives these shows a "jam session" feel appriciated by the crowd!
When the show was over I didn't wait for Doogie, sorry mate, I had another 5 hrs on the road, some traffic workers blocked the highway in Essen and I lost 1 hour there, unbelievable, everybody had to get off the highway and traffic lights released like 5 cars every minute....
Anyway, definitely another night to remember!!!!
