If you happen to be in downtown Kingston upon Hull (that means in Hull city centre...) and you catch the strains of a kind of upbeat jazzy pop tune caressing the airwaves around the central square then look up.

There, in the sky.

Is it a herd?

Is it a vein?

No, it's, errr,  super (man?)... TripManhattan, emblazoned on the Big Screen, while Alright Jack takes it's rightful place as track of the week.

Listen to it again (and again) here: http://tripmanhattan.com/music.aspx

Well, did you hear us?

Did you?

Simon and Caroline, a 20 minute radio slot and one laid back radio presenter.

A little bit of tension in the 'arriving there on time' department (what kind of route through town was that, Catwoman?), but quickly into relaxed and loquacious mode to chat about the Ferriby Party, the art of a great rock photo, band life, history and the tensions of covers vs. originals.

The Ferriby party - the BIG GIG.

Well that was acceptably stellar. The bands were great, the beer was perfect, the bar did a roaring trade (as did the co-op, sinice we had to keep topping up).
'In the Making' played with great energy and were tight beyond their years.
'The Fresh' were veritably rocking, with classic rock numbers executed with verve and passion. And we think their singer is cute (even in a hoody - must be a generational thing).
'The Neumes' were awesome, as expected. Tight, musical and utterly engaging.
'TripManhattan' rocked it up, filling the dance floor with their high energy second set of originals and a couple of well chosen covers. Shame we forgot about the smoke machine...
See the full review and at least some pics from the night here: http://tripmanhattan.com/party2007.aspx

Same again next year?
