Current mood:  bouncy
A new sound in Australian house music has been emerging over the last
year with hot new talent Fourth Nation (aka producer/remixer Tim
Topham) making a big noise amongst DJs and producers around Australia.
With clubbers suddenly realising that they’re dancing to new club edits
of well-known 80s tracks by the likes of Icehouse and Steve Winwood,
Fourth Nation has gained a solid remix reputation in Australia and
overseas in just 18 months on the scene. Earlier in 2007, Tim put
everything on hold, quit his full time job and dedicated 18 months to
creating house music. What has transpired has been nothing short of
remarkable! In just a few months, Tim has created some impressive
productions and is now remixing for Australia’s biggest dance music
label Central Station Records. On the back of this national success has
also come remix interest from independents One Love,
Fridge/Downunderground and Floorgasm. After only a couple of months
amongst friends and DJs, Fourth Nation’s remix of Limahl’s “Never
Ending Story” theme song was picked up by radio stations in Melbourne
and featured regularly on Joy FM. In addition, Fourth Nation’s first
white label remix of the internationally-acclaimed Australian 80s track
“Electric Blue” by Icehouse, caught the ear of Ian “Molly” Meldrum who
instantly recognised his talent and commissioned him to remix one of
his own releases. Fourth Nation has also been working hard on a number
of original tracks including two to be released by Fridge in the
lead-up to the summer 2009 festival season including dub and vocal
mixes of the progressive sensation “Relic” and “It’s only now”
featuring the stunning vocals of singer Mady B.

J.1.0, Born into music, starting with a loud cry to the amusement of
his parents. Later, but not that much, he started to listen to the
radio shows and moved to the music, inspired by the tunes out of the
radio show. Getting older it was the radio sunshine live and similar
others that moved him into electronic music. Getting aware of what
would, should be possible for him personally, he started to create. His
own music rhythm and tunes, made one his first own computer to bring it
to the people and the world to listen and share his passion for new
sounds and songs. School gave him the opportunity to perform at
WilliamsTown festival. This was the first time that people heard his
music and enjoyed it.

Dabblermusic is an electronic artist who has been producing tunes since
high school, when he used a ramshackle collection of hardware samplers
drum machines and synths to throw together a tune. Dabblermusic has
mainly produced dance and hip hop tracks but likes to throw in the odd
rock inspired tune. Dabblermusic has also produced some more laid-back
styles, including some ambient tracks. In the beginning Dabblermusic's
material was produced by creating loops or melodies on a hardware
sequencer (Boss DR-5) and recording them on to a Akai S30 sampler. The
S30 was traditionally used more by DJs to add extra sounbites to a mix.
These samples were then mixed together on to a tape. These early
attempts were of course pretty lo-fi. Later, after acquiring some
software (logic, cakewalk, Rebirth) the compositions could be a bit
more structured and distinctly different sound was born. These days
Dabblermusic's tunes are produced using VSTs and software sampling but
the same energy in the music remains... All in all, Dabblermusic has
been producing music for about 10 years and will continue to explore
new sounds. Hope you enjoy the music! Tracks currently on myspace
include: When You're Ready, Fluorescent and Hothopper.
