Current mood: contemplative
My dear friends, Maybe the time has come to write another letter to the HOF and ask them to induct Alice Cooper. I will do this in a very polite manner so I won't get on their nerves. Still I feel that the HOF should be reminded every once in a while that AC fans around the globe don't understand what the HOF is waiting for. We're waiting for the day that AC gets inducted, band and solo artist. This time, though, I'd like to qoute you guys out there. So if you have anything to say on this subject that should be in the letter, please drop me a line. Or maybe the letter could spoil AC's chances. Of course I don't want that, so you, the supporters, should decide. Letter or no letter, that is the question! I'd love to hear your opinion on this, so please drop me a line ( message preferred). I'll read those messages over the next few weeks and then we'll make a decision - you and me together. Have a great weekend all of you, S.

I was extremely shocked to hear that Brian "Renfield" has passed away. My thoughts are with everyone in mourning (Alice and his family, and every Alice Cooper fan on this planet)
No Cooper fan will ever forget him.
Rest in Peace, Brian...

Current mood:busier than... u know
If you add this project and nada happens for weeks, please be patient. I'm up to my Spock-like ears in work at the moment, or as Stephen King likes to say: I'm busier than a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest.
But if takes too long or you have something urgent on your mind, contact me on my other myspace profile (myspace.com/meantart), I usually check my messages there at least twice a week.
'kay, that's all folks!
Have a great weekend!
Sonja

We are trying to raise money for Alice Cooper's Solid Rock Foundation. Sonja's actually ready to shed blood for it, so please make it worth it! Sonja will sign a copy of "The Center of the Spiral" with her own blood. The book is available on Ebay already, so please bid or if you can't, post bulletins and blogs and e-mail the link around the planet! Even if the book's no good (very possible *heehee*), buy it and burn it if you want to, but please buy it! 100 % of the money goes to Solid Rock. We don't keep a dime!!!! the bloody auction ;)

Dear friends,
As the number of comments and messages for ALICE is increasing, we thought it might be time to come up with a set of rules.
1: If we receive a comment for ALICE, we'll delete it.
2: If we receive a message for ALICE, we won't reply.
We're not being arrogant or snotty, please understand that we can't approve any comment for Alice, as it could be taken the wrong way.
We're not official and we can't forward any messages to Alice, and we can't provide you with autographs or concert tickets/backstage passes either.
We do appreciate comments for us, and especially, for the Hall of Fame, asking why they won't induct Alice Cooper, though. So please don't stop posting them!
Thank you!
Sonja

Another bulletin was just posted by Neal Smith`s biographer. And now this is too much, really. If she feels she can`t support us, fine with us. But this "I`m going to kick their asses" attitude is way too much. After the first message she sent we changed a few things on our page, yes. But still, every Alice fan is aware about the band history, but we thought it would be better to get the facts straight on the page. Even if the fans know all about it.
We sent her a message asking if she would now support us. Our message was: Thank you for pointing out the fact about the original Alice Cooper group. We`ve changed a few things and we hope you`ll support us now.
The Ladies
We got no answer. But the message was read, so she must have seen the new profile. Next thing we know, that bulletin is posted, calling our facts (the new ones as well, apparently) "bullshit".
You know our answer to this, we posted it.
Now a new bulletin is posted. In which she now claims, that we changed the profile AFTER the bulletin. This is not true and a really foul thing to do.
This is getting absurd.
WE WONDER WHY THOSE BULLETINS ARE POSTED? AND WHY BEHIND OUR BACKS? WHY NOT CONTACTING US PERSONALLY INSTEAD OF TRYING TO CONVINCE PEOPLE THAT WE´RE "REWRITING HISTORY"?
Yeah, right!
We`re not interested in a pissing contest, either. BUT WE DIDN`T START IT! :-)
There was no need to bully us. A few mails could have solved the problem.
A thing like posting unfair (and untrue) bulletins behind someone`s back is just plain crap.
Or bullshit, if you prefer.
This will be the last bulletin about this matter. If she feels she has to go on posting bulletins full of false reproaches, feel free to do so. You don`t have to support us. We have a lot of people supporting us. And we bet 99,9f them are aware about the original Alice Cooper group. Because they`re devoted fans and know everything about Alice. How he started with the Earwigs and how he became a huge star. And he still is.
But if you`re willing to handle this matter like a rational person, mail us. Send us a message. Instead of trying everything to ruin our campaign and accusing us of "rewriting history" behind our backs. We repeat this because it shows how loathsome this behaviour is.
"Rewriting history like the band never existed" we never did that.
Btw.: In a lot of newspapers, documentarys and Fanpages Alice is called the inventor of shock rock. It`s not like we said it first.
If this hostile Kindergarten stuff will go on (and we bet it will), ok. Why not. Everybody needs a hobby.
Go on rewriting our profile history :-)
Read the stuff and you`ll know how to regard the whole matter:
Thanks to everyone for your nice messages and bulletin posts in response to and support of the question raised by Neal's Blog post (written by me with Neal's approval) as to whether or not Alice Cooper the band should be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame or if the solo artist Alice should be inducted and take full credit for the work of the band.
While I have no desire to get into a pissing contest with the women who run the AC Hall of Fame Project page, I did expect a backlash and this is my statement in response. Any adjustments to the page profile of the AC Hall of Fame Project were done in reaction to Neal's initial email to them stating the facts of the matter and that he could not support a page which gave credit for his and his band mates accomplishments to one person. They responded by adding a lukewarm statement along the lines of "We understand that Alice Cooper was originally the name of a band" etc. Which I interpreted as them being exclusively fans of Alice's solo work but willing to acknowledge that he once made some music with another band. As of last night at 11:00 PM that was the way the page looked.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ANY OTHER MODIFICATIONS TO THE AC HALL OF FAME PROJECT PROFILE, INCLUDING STATEMENTS OF ITS INTENTIONS, WERE MADE IN DIRECT RESPONSE TO NEAL'S BLOG AND SUBSEQUENT BULLETIN POSTS.
Mission accomplished.
Also, their statement that "Every Fan knows that Alice Cooper was once a band" is certainly debatable based on their initial claims that "He" invented shock rock and the majority of the comments on that page which reflect a similar mindset.
Like I said, any fan has every right to promote and support Alice as a solo artist all you want, but please stop rewriting history as if the band never existed.

The Biographer of Neal Smith is sending out bulletins telling people not to support us. And what`s worse, she claims that we ignore the fact that Alice Cooper used to be the name of the band and that they had their first hits as the Alice Cooper band.
We know the band invented shock rock. Every fan knows that. We ARE familiar with background story.
And our profile says so.
We suggest that people read what we have to say on our profile prior to sending out bulletins like that behind our backs and calling what we have to say bullshit.
WE REPEAT: IT IS THE DECISION OF THE HALL OF FAME WHETHER TO INDUCT ALICE COOPER THE BAND OR ALICE COOPER THE SOLO ARTIST!
This is the Bulletin she posted:
On Friday morning I received a friend request from a page run by two very nice ladies in support of their effort to have Alice Cooper inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame. I appreciate the good intentions behind this effort, but what struck me as completely horrifying about this page is the fact that Alice, the individual (solo artist), is boldly given complete credit for anything ever done under the name of the band "Alice Cooper." The belief that Alice Cooper -- prior to the release of Alice's first solo album, Welcome to My Nightmare -- was a one-man show with a back up band is an outrageous falsehood which has been perpetuated in the media for 30 years. Frankly, the surviving members of that band are all getting pretty tired of hearing it.
From 1968 to 1974, Alice Cooper was the name of a band of five individuals and no single member was more responsible than any other for the success of the band. To this day, royalties paid on the classic Alice Cooper band albums are paid in equal amounts to each member. If anyone gets inducted into the HOF under the banner of "Creator of Shock Rock," it should be the five members of Alice Cooper -- including Neal Smith, Dennis Dunaway, Michael Bruce and the late Glen Buxton -- and not just the vocalist who changed his name and continued on with his solo career under the momentous reputation of the band that made him famous. Bluntly put, without Alice Cooper THE BAND there never would have been an Alice Cooper the individual.
History continues to be rewritten through little infringements on the Alice Cooper band's integrity, such as Rolling Stone magazine referring to Alice Cooper as a 'he' when citing the band that recorded Love It To Death, and Shout Factory taking the liberty of airbrushing Michael Bruce out of the cover photo on the recent DVD release of Good To See You Again Alice Cooper. From 1968 to 1974, Alice Cooper was not a "he": Alice Cooper was a band.
While I have nothing against Alice being inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame on the basis of his solo material, to completely bury the groundbreaking and legendary accomplishments of Alice Cooper the band while crediting that band's singer with "Inventing" shock rock is complete bullshit. Further, to give Alice-the-solo-artist exclusive credit for creating the material on those first seven Alice Cooper studio albums -- which include ALL of the songs that Alice Cooper is best known for such as "School's Out," "I'm Eighteen," "No More Mr. Nice Guy" and "Billion Dollar Babies" to name but a few -- is unbelievably insulting to Dennis, Michael, Glen (RIP) and Neal. Prior to 1975, Alice was just another member of the band.
I ask that anyone who is a fan of the original band and their classic songs not support this page without first contacting the people who run it and asking them to get their story straight. I can support a page that wishes to induct the Alice Cooper band into the HOF, but I dont think Alice needs my help in promoting his solo accomplishments while giving him exclusive credit for the work of the Alice Cooper band.
