Fuzzheads,

I've just completed the edit on a new music video for the German garage kings THE SATELLITERS, for their new album out on Dionysus Records. THE SATELLITERS are one of the world's best garage acts -- don't miss them!

The music vid should pop up on TV sets soon -- but you can see a lo-res version at...hmmm... I wonder where? Oh yeah, something called YouTube, lol.

Fans have asked if this is a first step toward a Volume 2 of the Knights of Fuzz DVD -- featuring Euro bands -- but we gotta sell a few more legit copies of  Volume 1 DVD before discussing that!

Hey Fuzzheads,

We've changed out some of the profile songs from the Knights of Fuzz DVD -- The Miracle Workers, Plasticland and Creatures of The Golden Dawn are now up and running.

We have a new bundle deal for the DVD, too -- get the DVD and the Purple Merkins CD together for only $10 in the US POSTAGE PAID (or just $15 outside the US).

Hey Fuzzheads,

So we're gearing up for the March recording sessions for the Marshmallow Overcoat, and we've added an appearance on the upcoming "Ed Cobb tribute album." Real '60s garage fans will know who Ed Cobb is -- so if you don't, get to work, lol.

The album is the brainchild of Grag from The Fiends in beautiful Vancouver, BC. Marshmallow Overcoat frontman Timothy Gassen will contribute liner notes for the album, too, and they're both looking for more bands that might fit in to the compilation. They already have some top-notch names involved!

So drop us a line and let us know if your band has a particular Ed Cobb song you'd like to do. And it should be something other than "Dirty Water" or "Good Guys Don't Wear White," lol.

Hey Fuzzheads,

We've added a couple new songs from the Knights of Fuzz DVD: one by the Fuzztones (who continue to thrive in Europe) and one from The Resonars (who have a new album out now on Get Hip). These are from the audio compilation album that comes as a bonus on the DVD.

Hi Fuzzers,

Sorry for the long-time-no-blog. Been WAY busy producing the 2 new "Live At The Cavern Club CDs for Bomp records. It'll be 40 tracks of VERY raw live tracks from the 1985-1986 Cavern Club in LA. Track listings and more info will be posted soon, hopefully.

Audrey Moorehead (former Cavern DJ) provided some great photos and info, too, so the CD packing will be fun.

This will be billed as the latest release in the KNIGHTS OF FUZZ series. Yahoo!

The Knights DVD is back in stock, so snap 'em up. I have a few posters left, too...

Yours in fuzz,

Hi Fuzzers,

Just a note to tell you I've switched out some of the sample audio (songs) on the page, from the Knights of Fuzz DVD. Coming on are songs by all-girl greats The Pandoras, NYC's finest The Vipers, and Italy's The Others.

The video clip samples from the DVD remain on the page, too.

Give the gift of fuzz, and pick up the DVD today! :)

Hi fuzz fans,

I'm pleased to say that the new Knights of Fuzz DVD is now back in stock! Many thanks to all who have snapped them up so quickly -- now there's another chance for fans just hearing about the DVD to get in on the fun.

We'll keep the free CD and poster offer going too, while supplies last: the DVD, 11x17 color poster and a choice of a garage CD for only $17 postpaid in North America, and $22 postpaid airmail for the rest of the world!

That deal is only available directly from us at www.purple-cactus.tv

Thank you again to all who have made the DVD possible. Fuzz on, my friends!

Hi All,

The next releases in the "Knights of Fuzz" series will be 2 audio albums titled "Live At The Cavern Club." This Cavern was a mid 1980s garage club in Hollywood, and we've found 150 hours of tapes of the best garage acts of the day recorded there! I'll go through and select and clean up 2 albums worth of songs, to be released on Bomp in Spring 2007. (My dear-departed friend Greg Shaw of Bomp created the Cavern Club.)

Anyone with Cavern Club stories, photos or info is welcome to contribute. So speak up!

Tim :)

OK, the Knights of Fuzz DVD is now starting to pop up in stores across North America. What will alt-rock kids (who don't know about garage music) think when they see it? Let's hope they cast their Pink and Bad Charlotte CDs to the winds and give it a try, lol.

You can also still pick it up with the special free CD through my Purple Cactus site, and it's online at places like FilmBaby.com and Amazon.com, etc. Don't forget the free audio Podcast with lots of samples, too.

OK, lots of bands and fans have already asked me about a "Volume 2" DVD. I'd love to do it, but I gotta make back some bucks by selling this one first!

Here's a new feature article on the DVD, with extra vid clip:

More cool news soon,

Tim :)

Some of you more "ripe" garageniks might remember that I started a garage-psych radio show in 1986 titiled "Randy Love's Flower Hours." It ran for many years, but I have only done occassional radio in the past decade.

But that is all about to change, since I now have finished the first Knights of Fuzz podcast! The first Web-only audio episode will feature bands from the new DVD, of course.

It includes 31 minutes of audio samples from the new DVD, plus an unreleased "live" Pandoras song from the upcoming "Live At The Cavern Club" albums I'll be producing. (More on that in another blog post.) (The MP3 is hosted at PodShow.com, hence the 10-second blurb before the show begins.)

Links to the podcast are on the profile page, and right here: http://www.podshow.com/shows/?mode=current&show_id=1539
