After a busy season, I kicked off my flip-flops and donned the winter gear for an amazing week up in Tahoe and Mammoth, where we had sunny snowy days and crystal-clear full moon nights. It was breathtaking, exhilarating and too much fun playing in the snow for this lil' desert baby. I tried snowboarding and cross-country skiing for the first time and could not imagine a better place to learn than on Diamond Peak and Tamarack, where we were surrounded by fresh snow and the most incredible views. I'm not very good at boarding or skiing (yet!), but that will definitely be one of my resolutions this year! ...

Things that make my world go 'round...

My family and most especially my parents, for their neverending support of all the goals and dreams and interests I've ever had in life, no matter how silly or far-flung they were. My dogs, for always putting a smile on my face. Great friends and colleagues. Anyone who has come into my life and added meaning to it, and anyone who has stayed in my life since then.

Good health, good humor, good food and good times. Being able to live for the moment while still looking ahead to the future.

Having never lost that adventurous spirit that allows me to take chances in life without fear. Opportunities that turned into blessings. Risks that taught me a lifetime of lessons.

A place I can finally call my own, and the first place where I could devote an entire room to just my closet!

All the memories from my travels... skydiving over Vegas, swimming with tortoises in Hanauma Bay and getting sucked into the "Toilet Bowl", seeing horses graze in Ireland, watching a sunrise in Tahiti, enjoying a paella festival in Mexico, riding an elephant in Dalat, wearing a boa (the reptile, not the feathers!) around my neck in Singapore, sharing laughs with my cousins in Vietnam... and the many more memories I will make.

Vacations. I need more of them.
