The cycles of Saturn, the Lord of Karma and ruler of the sphere Understanding in the Tree of Life, is about 29 years. If you are younger than 29, then this exercise will not help you but you can read about it and possibly implement the information in the future or aid someone you love who is at that age now. Astrology is the art of cycles. The cycles that vary in frequency, duration, meaning and intensity. The cycle we are concerned with now is the cycle of Saturn. Each 29 years Saturn teaches us the same lesson. But it is not precisely the same. It's like reading a book when you are young and then again when you are much more mature. It is the same book with the same information but each time you learn different things. That is how the cycles of Saturn work. Every 29 years Saturn teaches us a similar subject but as we advance the teaching become deeper. Look into the main challenges you are experiencing in your life right now. Write them down with a paragraph that explains what you are feeling and how the challenges come across. Try to add as many stories, examples as well as who is involved in these challenges. In order to gain some insight as to how Saturn works with you, go back 29 years and try to identify an incident or a situation in life that might reflect the same challenges you are going through right now.

For example, a woman was contemplating divorcing her husband after a marriage of 15 years. When she did this exercise she realized that 29 years ago her own parents divorced and destroyed her sense of security. Armed with this realization she went to couple counseling and through hard work and persistence the couple managed to come out of the challenge and they are still married to this day.

Another example, I recently did a chart to a woman that when I asked her about the challenges in her life, said that she is facing a great deal of difficulties at work with her manager who is about two years older then her. In her work she is in charge of the international relations of the company. Her boss loves her because she speaks many languages and she is highly successful at what she does, however, her immediate manager resents her. She feels it is because he does not speak any other language besides English and maybe is jealous with her performance. She told me that the relationship with him is so bad that he even sabotages her work by not sharing some of the vital information about the buisness that she needs in order to do her job. In other words, he makes her work harder.

I asked her to go back 29 years and tell me what happened. Like always, the reply was "nothing really happened." we are all very lazy when we have to do this kind of work, so we needed some pushing. I told her to think harder and finally she confessed that 29 years ago she was about 4 and a half years old and that she was already reading and writing perfectly. I told her that this is very impressive but how come she was in such a hurry to read and write. She smiled for the first time and said that she remembered she did it so that she could join her older brother who was about 6 years old to school. She loved him so much that she wanted to constantly be with him and she knew that if she learns how to read and write she could sit with him in class. I told her its sweet but did her brother shared that enthusiasm? She said "no." In fact, as suspected, he hated it. He complained that it was embarrassing for him since he was not that good in reading and writing and there was that little baby sister doing way better then him. All she wanted to do is be loved by him and yet by joining him to school she was pushing him away. Now, 29 years later, Saturn comes to give her an understanding she did not have at the age of 4 and a half. Now she finds herself in the same position. She is over achieving and causing her manager who does not read and write other languages to be intimidated. She had an "aha" moment and it helped her fix her relationship by paying attention not to step over her boundaries. Saturn always comes to the rescue!

Saturn's lessons are not always hard or negative. They could also be associated with pushing you to the next level, helping you in manifesting your potential or structuring your life. Try it out with your life and see what happens. Please send me any grad discoveries, it is always nice to read.
