I realize its been quite some time since anything has been said from the Dark Empire camp.  In a nutshell here is what is going on:

DARK EMPIRE PART WAYS WITH VOCALIST JENS CARLSSON, SEEK REPLACEMENT

Dark Empire have parted ways with vocalist Jens Carlsson (Persuader, Savage Circus) and seek a replacement immediately. Band leader/lead guitarist/death vocalist Matt Moliti had this to say:

"This decision was a long time coming and it was a hard one to make, since Jens is a great dude to work with. With him living in Sweden and the rest of us in the New Jersey, it is impossible to do any kind of gigging, which is something we need to make this band continue. This was a mutual decision and there are no hard feelings at all. We wish Jens the best in his endeavors with Persuader and Savage Circus. As for a replacement, since I am already writing new material, we would like to find one as soon as possible. We're most interested in a singer with an abrasive or hard rock quality to their voice, and of course, must be living in or willing to commute or relocate to the northern New Jersey/NYC area. Jens had this to say about the split:

"After a long consideration, we in the band made the decision for me to step down as singer for Dark Empire. For Matt and the guys to push the band forward, live appearences are essential and the fact that I live in Sweden
was becoming a bigger and bigger problem. I also have Persuader and Savage Circus who need attention as well. There are no hard feelings, but something had to be done about the situation. I wish the guys in DE all the best, and you fans out there, keep on rocking!"

Dark Empire released their sophomore effort, Humanity Dethroned, in August 2008 via Killzone Records.

Progressive thrash metal band, Dark Empire, are currently seeking a new drummer.

Official statement from bandleader Matt Moliti:

Our two shows with Suspyre and Odin's Court were enjoyable. It was
great to see our fans come down to the shows and rock out with us! As these were the first shows with our new lineup, we realized
that Omar Davila was not quite right for Dark Empire. For both musical and personal reasons, we have decided to part
ways with him. Dark Empire wishes Omar the best in his future endeavors, and
applaud him for stepping up to the plate and learning our material in such a short amount of
time.

Dark Empire is seeking a new drummer. We're looking a drummer able to meet the following
criteria:

1. Be comfortable and well versed in technical drumming styles
(extreme metal and progressive genres).
2. Someone who has pro experience and will be able to dedicate
themselves long term with the band, for both future live shows and
studio sessions.
3. Be in or around the Northern New Jersey/NYC area or be willing to
commute or relocate.


Dark Empire have some tentative shows planned for the fall and winter, so we're
hoping to find our drummer relatively soon. If you'd like to

Additionally, I'm happy to say that we finally have copies of our new album
Humanity Dethroned, and all the preordered copies have been mailed out
as of last Friday (August 29th). Hopefully those of you reading will
have received yours by now, or will be receiving them shortly. They
should also be available at select online vendors soon. We will
add links to our myspace page once we're notified that they are available for
sale.

OK big update here. We found our drummer! Thanks to everyone that inquired about the position. We also found someone to fill in the long vacant bass player position. The new lineup is gonna start to rehearse this week, and I'm fucking excited for it. I'll reveal more info on the new guys very soon.

Also, an update on the physical release of the CD from Killzone, the CDs are being replicated at the pressing plant right now. So if we don't hit any more snags, they should be ready to send out in 2-3 weeks.
