Hello everyone.

It has been some time since you have heard from us in any capacity. Suffice to say, The Glass Ocean has come to an end and we will not be continuing as a band.

It doesn't look like we will play a final show, so if you saw us with Winston Audio and Death on Two Wheels back in July then you also saw our final performance. Thank you to everyone who has supported us or shown interest in the band, we truly appreciate everything.

We still have some merch online available to anyone who wants it, the shirts are $6 and EPs are $5. Maybe buy some shirts and donate them to a homeless shelter, I also hear that cd's make great drink coasters nowadays.

You never really know where life will take you. Keller is married and has his beautiful daughter Lettie, Nick and his girlfriend also just recently welcomed their daughter Elise into the world. Justin is going to school and collecting bicycles in his garage, Heath is bartending at Six Feet Under and is development of a website called SkeetTweet, a twitter-esque website for sexual escapades and what-have-you. I work at a shoe store and sell Nikes to kids in neon colors and bad haircuts.

We may post a few other updates in the future. There is a chance that Keller and I may post a few last demos and songs that we were working on before we called it quits. We're also both working on a project called Mountain Home Recording and more details may be available on that soon.

In any case, I hope everyone is enjoying the colder weather and living their lives the best that they can. It's hard to give up on something that you love and spent so much time on, but that is just how it works out sometimes. The end is built into the beginning.

Thanks to all,

Beiser and TGO

Hello!

We are pleased to announce that we have uploaded our cover of Billie Holiday's Strange Fruit to our myspace page. We hope you enjoy it! We are excited to finally get a new song out there for everyone to listen to, hopefully to keep everyone satisfied until we finish writing our record.

The song will be on myspace for anyone who wants to listen and will also be featured on the Lujo Records compilation "Choose Your Own Holiday" that is to be released soon.

Spread the word and enjoy!

Hello to everyone

We have a few interesting morsels of new information that we hope you find delicious.

First, we are pleased to let you know that we are going to be a part of an upcoming Lujo Records compilation. The theme is "Choose Your Own Holiday" where each artist contributes a song about any holiday of their desire. We decided on March 25th which is the International Day of Remembrance of Slavery Victims and the Transatlantic Slave Trade. The official description of the day is "honoring the lives of those who died as a result of slavery or experienced the horrors of the transatlantic slave trade. It is also an occasion to raise awareness about the dangers of racism and prejudice."

We chose to cover a song and rearrange it to try and make it our own. We picked the song Strange Fruit as made famous by Billie Holiday, which is an exceptionally haunting song condemning racism. The lyrics find their origin as a poem written by Abel Meeropol, and was penned in reaction to the horror of the lynching of two men, Thomas Shipp and Abram Smith in the 1930s.

We did our very best to preserve the integrity of such a powerful and universally acknowledged song, while also adapting it to our own musical stylings. We are excited to have everyone hear it and we would like to thank Erik and Lujo Records for giving us the opportunity to contribute to the project. Details about the release of the compilation are still pending.

Second, we will be playing our first show in 6 months come July 24th. We will be sharing this joy with our good friends Winston Audio and Death on Two Wheels, in Atlanta at the Drunken Unicorn. Ideally we will be playing some new tunes that we have written from our upcoming full length that we have been hard at work on.

Lastly, we have put all of our merchandise on sale over at our online store. You can head on over to the Audible Diversion Group page to see what all we have going on over there. Click here to check out our summer sale!

Thank you to everyone for their interest and support. We are very grateful for the joy you bring us.

Today, we are officially down one member. Nick Nelson has decided to step down from his position as our guitarist. We love Nick, there are absolutely no hard feelings at all and we are sad to see him go.

However:

We couldn't waste any time in trying to find a replacement. We decided to walk around Atlanta and recruit some of it's finest citizens, seeing if they wanted to be a part of The Glass Ocean! Here are a few of the people we considered:

Giant boy in the window of the local electronics store.

Ethiopian girl dancing at the wheat grass stand.

Asian man chain smoking on the sidewalk.

Our friend Adam with no eyebrows.

And finally, Pirate Man with purple pantaloons and his faithful bird Cody.

We searched high and low through all of 3 square blocks of Atlanta. All of our candidates were highly qualified, but ultimately we decided to remain a four piece.

We are currently in the process of booking our first show since December, a "comeback" show, as it were. We will have more details for you as things become finalized and we are excited about debuting new material, and the future of the band.

Hello!

It has been some time since you have heard anything from us! I thought it would do well to kind of give an update as to what has been going on lately.

In approximately a week or less, Keller and his wife will be expecting their first child! It has been exciting for all of us as the time draws closer for the birth of their baby girl. As a band, we have stepped back from playing shows to accommodate this life-changing event.

In the mean time, we have been writing for what will become our first full length record. I am really pleased with the direction of the new material and can't wait until we are able to share it with the rest of you. You can rest assured that when the time is right and we start playing shows again, we will have plenty of new songs to perform and let everyone on the secrets we have been crafting as of late.

I wish I had a more definite outline of what is to come, but life doesn't really work that way. Hopefully everyone hasn't forgotten about us! We love all of you, more updates to come soon.

Thank you for reading,

Beiser
