Speaking of the Boom and Bust tour, there is a competition over at Gigjunkie.net to win tickets to all of the shows. If you're feeling lucky, head over HERE and follow the instructions there.

Don't forget that this Monday, 28th September, our new single 'Back 2 Skool' is released. The single will be availlable at all major download retailers and iTunes as well as directly from us from our DIGITAL STORE at Rebel Alliance Recordings. The £1.99 bundle single comes complete with 2 B-sides; brand new track 'The Dangers of Rock n Roll' and a much-requested acoustic rendition of 'Floating Away'. There's a review of the single over at AllGigs.co.uk so check that out HERE. Remember kids, it's 'Back 2 Skool' this Monday!

September 21, 2009 - Monday
Guten Tag!

We're here in Vienna at the Arena, one of the most mintola venues on God's green earth and it's all good. We've got Random Hand here with us which is a whole lot of fun. Speaking of Random Hand, their new single 'Anger Management' is available today so go and check out the Rebel Alliance Recordings site HERE. While we're on the subject of Rebel Alliance, it's well worth joining the mailing list and Myspace there. All the going's on are too much to mention in every Boom mailout so if you want to keep up-to-date with everything happening with the independent label of the week (not my words Lynn! The words of BBC RADIO 1's INTRODUCING's Huw Stephens) then that's the best way to go about it.

And while we're on the subject of singles, we're going to be releasing 'Back 2 Skool' on download format on the 28th September... that's next Monday. All the relevant links will be live on Monday 28th and I'll drop everyone another mail then to remind you!

Ben continues to extend his resume in the world of Viral Video production with his new opus to accompany Back 2 Skool. Drawing creative influence from the classic film genre of 'School Conflict Saga' he's outdone his previous output by a considerable degree and is currently warding off offers of scholarships from such prestigious academi as the New York Film Institute and the Saratoga Conservatoire of Modern Moving Arts. Barry Norman himself wouldn't be able to find the words to describe the magnitude of what you lucky readers are about to feast your beadies on HERE.

Right then, I'll remind you next week to squander £1.99 of your hard-earneds on our new single. Someone on our forum (which you can come and get involved with HERE) said the new B-Side was one of his favourite Boom songs and even asked if we were going to play it live so it's got to be worth £1.99 to find out if he's telling the truth or not really hasn't it?

Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.

Greetings!
I trust everyone is well and refreshed after last Bank Holiday weekend and that all you festival-goers have had a chance to revive and recuperate from whatever madness went down. We enjoyed our little stint on the Reading and Leeds main stage immensely and want to thank everyone that dragged themselves out of bed early enough to check it out. There's a wonderful interview with us over at Punktastic from the day of the Reading set. You can check that out by clicking HERE.

OK, today's news is that we've finally dotted the T's and crossed the I's enough to ensure that we're bringing our debut album home to Rebel Alliance Recordings! It's been out of print for a while and we're stoked to announce that we're releasing The Ruff-Guide to Genre-Terrorism DELUXE EDITION on October 5th. To celebrate, we've lovingly created a new edition of the album. Housed in a new embossed digipak, the CD features previously unreleased bonus tracks, new artwork and enhanced content including the never seen before, Ruff-Guide tour documentary 'A Boom Under Northern Skies'.

As if that weren't enough to whet the appeitite, we've got an exclusive SB6 Official Store CD & T-Shirt bundle. So, as well as the DELUXE EDITION digipak CD, this includes a unique, brand-new t-shirt design created for this promotion by Combination 13. The Sonic Boom Six official store is the only place to get the t-shirt!

The CD will be released October 5th and all Pre-Orders will be sent first class on Friday October 2nd. This CD will not be in the shops until November, so order from us now to be the first to get your hands on The Ruff-Guide To Genre-Terrorism DELUXE EDITION.

Click HERE for the CD & T-Shirt bundle.
Click HERE for the stand-alone CD.

The packages are both available for Pre-Order now at our Official Store which you can find HERE.

Thank you!

Word up.

It's that time of the year again! This coming weekend is the Reading and Leeds festival (thank God we don't have to call it by the name of that dreadful cooking lager anymore...) and, much as we'd like to be coolly nonchalant about the biggest gig we've ever done I have to admit that we're pretty much like kids at Christmas. 'Well looking forward to it' is the phrase that comes to mind. Please note that we'll be onstage at midday and the gates are open to the arena at eleven. Bearing in mind all the times I've been there and there has been a massive queue to get in the arena I must implore that you get your hungover bodies out of your sweaty bags and get to the arena early.

ARENA OPENS AT 11!
BOOM ON AT 12!

It's that simple people.

For one final blow-off of the cobwebs, we're doing a show in Alton on Thursday evening. The Facebook group of this fantastic little concert lives HERE. Gnarly! Please come and make big fun time.

Which brings us nicely to the big announcement! Our October UK tour! We're going to be covering the length and breadth of our beautiful isle with Rebel Alliance labelmates the Skints in tow so it's going to be a stonker. Check the dates below and tell the world. The Boom is coming! The Boom is coming!!

There will also be local supports on the vast majority of shows so ask about, but we're trying to make sure that some top quality bands will be on the bills. Boom or bust!

Cheers! Speak to you guys after the weekend then, happy packing!!!

Ooooh, I don't know, Boom mailouts are like buses. And by that I don't mean that they're filthy metal monsters carrying the cast of the Jeremy Kyle Show and driven by grey-haired malcontents with their own eccentric take on the time-space continuum. Nor do I mean they're a former nationalised industry sold off piece-by-piece for short-term profit and currently being ill-governed by white-shirted dimwits walking a beaurocratic tightrope between ailing profits and public dischord. What I mean is, you wait for ages and two come along at once! Ho ho ho.

Anyhoo. We do have some fresh and minty gigs coming up in the next few weeks, warming up for those summer festivals. We've just added gigs in Keighley and Poole as well as quite a few others up and down this fair isle. Check em out...

14 Aug 2009 THE WHITE LION CHEPSTOW

OK then, I hope that everyone enjoyed the BBC Radio 1 Punk Show session that broadcast last Monday. If you didn't hear it you still can until this coming Monday! Francis from Stand Out Riot was apparently so impressed with how accurate our renditions of our tunes were that he told the internet and Mike Davies himself described our bantering on 'Strange Transformations' as the "VIP version" so if that isn't reason enough to listen, I don't know what is. Click your Clickers HERE and get your head around that iPlayer. We're added a short film about our day out onto our YouTube account so you can go and have a look at that too if you have a spare five minutes. I don't know who the 80s-looking band I'm grumbling about at the start is so don't ask. But throw any magazine in the air and point at the page it opens on and it's probably them. Check it out HERE. You can also check our YouTube page HERE which has more interviews, live stuff and videos for your enjoyment, bemusement and so on.

This coming Sunday the good people of NoSweat.org are bringing you good people a wonderful gig. Suicide Bid are going to be playing a rare gig at the Garage in London (along with the mighty Filaments, The Grit and Mouthwash) so please come and take a look! Suicide Bid is a musical collective featuring members and ex-members of awesome bands : King Prawn, The Filaments, Ex-Cathedra, Sonic Boom Six, The King Blues, Inner Terrestrials, The Foamers, Deathskulls, Black Radio, The Ambition and P.A.I.N and you can see the myspace HERE. The Bid haven’t played together since 16th August 2008 - so this show is going to be very special indeed. Speaking of which, we’ve recently been working on new Suicide Bid material and the stuff we’ve heard has been awesome so be very excited!

Get your ticket HERE.

Suicide Bid!

Okey dokey, I'm gonna be hitting everyone up with those full October tour dates and more news of the Back 2 Skool single next week, so don't leave our mailing list, block us on myspace or deny our existence between now and then.

Enjoy yourselves!

August 10, 2009 - Monday
Good morning!

First of all, apologies for the fact that it’s been a while but we’ve had a very busy few weeks indeed. Thanks so much to everyone who’s seen us either in France or on a stage in the UK last week and an extra special oi oi oi! to all our friends at Rebellion Festival. This year at Rebellion was the best for us yet and we were stoked and humbled by the amazing reaction we were lucky enough to receive, we really do appreciate it. Boomtown Fair and Hevy Festival were awesome too, there’s a few photos of the show at Hevy HERE. We still have a bunch of gigs leading up to the Reading and Leeds Festival coming up in the next few weeks so head over to the myspace and check them out.

A few weeks ago we headed over to the Maida Vale Studios to do a session for the Radio One Punk Show. The session is going to be aired tonight at 2am and the show will be able to be streamed from the BBC site for the forthcoming week HERE. It’s the first time we have ever had a string section ever and it’s certainly the first time we’ve ever covered a 70s disco hit so please tune in and let us know what you think. Cheers to Mike Davies and Dave King for making it happen and thanks to the capable stringsmanship of Studt and son!

To follow our veritable rock radio triumph of ‘The Concrete We’re Trapped Within (It’s Yours)’ we’re going to release a new single on September 28th. The second single from City of Thieves will be ‘Back 2 Skool’ and will feature two brand new B-Sides. To support the single we are going to embark on a full UK tour across October with hot new signing’s to Rebel Alliance Recordings The Skints in tow. More details about all this coming very soon!

Finally, we’ve got a few new items of merch in over at the Sonic Boom Six store. First is the much requested revival of the classic Street Fighter II style shirt in a new colour. The geekier amongst you will nod at each other and then go ‘ooh, he’s done that to look like the colours of the Champion Edition of SFII rather than the original’. And you'd be right, but a geek. Also, we’ve got a nice new girls top which is kind of half way between a vest and a t-shirt and sports the old-school grenade logo in pink and yellow which look really rather nice. Come and take a look! Our store is HERE.

Ta!

Barney x

p.s There is a new, quite in-depth interview over at Peppermint Inguana and the site is worth having a look at too. Come and have a ganders HERE.

p.s.s Apologies to leaping onto Asher Baker with my stage antics at Rebellion which equated to a diving headbutt which in turn lead to a sore head for me and battered jaw for him. Rock n Roll though innit.

Ey yo.

Today's the day! 'The Concrete We're Trapped Within (It's Yours)' is out and about in your friendly neighbourhood record shop. The single will be available on CD maxi-single and download formats. The CD single contains three brand new B-sides, the bouncy dub of 'Nine Stitches', the scorching ska-core of 'This is Real' and the electrifying electro of Ben C's remix of the title track. Also on there is the album version of the song and the recently polished viral video by Ben C.

You can check out the download versions on our Rebel Alliance Recordings digital store. For the one-track single click HERE and for the 3-track bundle single click HERE. For the good, old-fashioned CD option go HERE.

Rightio, in other news, we went down to Maida Vale studios on Saturday for a session for the BBC Radio 1 Punk Show. We played three tunes off 'City Of Thieves' and a brand new, session-exclusive cover version that encompassed a real-life string section. Very fancy. There's never a dull moment. You can have a look at a couple of photos HERE but we'll have a little video of the day up very soon. Please follow our Blog if you're the Blogging kind. And let's face it, who isn't these days?

And, that, as they say, is very nearly that. Tomorrow there is going to be some big old Rebel Alliance Recordings news about a new band joining the ranks that we're stoked about. You can get all the Rebel Alliance news just by joining the mailing list.

In celebration of the release of our new single 'The Concrete We're Trapped Within (It's Yours)' next Monday, we've buffed Ben C's original viral promo video video to a high sheen. Thanks to Ben at Sitcom Soldiers and to everyone who provided footage, logos and inspiration for the vid. Have a ganders below... if you're browser doesn't support video embedding, simply click HERE to visit our YouTube channel and check it out.

Allow me to remind everyone of the the In-Store Boom-Tour that begins on Monday 6th July, the same day that our new single 'The Concrete We're Trapped Within (It's Yours)' drops. The CD format includes 2 new tracks and a new remix and has free postage and packing if you order before the release date from HERE. We'll be signing, chatting and playing away at the instores, if anyone has any special-requests song-wise from us, drop us a line via the usual channels. As you can see, we've gone a little cowboy but no country requests please.

And that, as they say is, that for now. Please, please, please do us a favour... don't forget to request 'The Concrete We're Trapped Within (It's Yours)' on the Radio One Punk show HERE and if you can spread this little banner around, we will continue to make our wonderful music forevermore.
