After 6 years as 3dBs DOWN we have decided to change our name to On The Turn. We have been unhappy with our name for quite some time now and, in advance of our third album, we feel that now is the time to make the change. We have a new myspace address at www.myspace.com/ontheturnuk Please come and visit us as we're a bit lonely there at the moment! It's a work in progress but we will be polishing it up in the next few weeks. If anyone would like to help us out by spreading the word please email us at ontheturnuk@hotmail.co.uk we would be so grateful. Thanks for your time and see you down the front!

Current mood: excited
So it may look like we've stopped for a bit with the lack of gigs but we're very much alive and kicking. We've been busy sorting our lives out (Mr J got engaged! we all have jobs now - Matt even has two), sorting our debts out and most importantly putting a new load of songs together. They're coming on well, and in my completely unbiased opinion they are sounding the absolute nuts. We're just starting to book up the occasional show so we can test them out, before we record them in the summer. More on that to come. There's plenty of other stuff coming too, but again now is not the time. Careless talk costs lives and all that. It'll be worth the wait trust me. I just wanted to say (like in the crap Matrix follow up with the pointless dance scene that goes on forever and everyone dances out of time looking like a hippy commune full of 'beautiful' people which when they show it on TV should come with subtitles saying "take piss now", which can be obeyed either way) - WE ARE STILL HERE.
On a sad note, i just want to say how gutted we all are that the collective genius that is Life Sentence have decided to call it a day. if you dont know them, then go to www.myspace.com/lifesentence and cry at what you missed. Then order the album to try and make up for it . They're playing their last show on March 30th at the Red Lion in Northfleet so come down and join the party.
Hopfully see you real soon

Well we're back from the 3 Way Dance and we just want to say a big thank you to everyone who came to all the shows, especially everyone who came to the Barfly. Big love also goes to the other bands especially Grown At Home for showing us the way of the after show club, for the loan of an ID, and for being top notch all round. Thanks to Buzzkill for the lending of the gear, and for kicking off the in-band horn section argument again. and to Ammunition Affair for being a class act (and for making me not the only one to fall off stage). Biggest thanks go to Jim for playing his nuts off each and every night and for having a huge grin all the way round (except when he was asleep). We only broke down once which was a record for us, (the gearstick came off, but it got fixed). We had an absolute blast, despite the on set of arctic cold half way round. Bring on the next one!
We played with the Mighty More Than Normal and the just as Mighty Spunge last week and it was wicked, so thanks to all who came to that (one of our favourite shows in a longtime) and we're with Spunge again with One Day Elliot and Los Salvadores on Saturday, and it's gonna be great. Please come down to Sheppey it's gonna be wicked! then we're on our final run into December. We feel we've been slacking off a bit this year and yet still we're heading for our 50th show of the year soon. They go by so quick. Then we're slowing down on the gigs to get the next set of songs done. We'll keep you posted on how we're getting on. It's very exciting.
Take it easy

Just a little update to say what we're doing at the moment which is getting the next album ready for gigging/recording. It's coming on slowly for a few reasons but it's coming along nicely now. We've got about half an album worth ready and we're working on it all the time. We've learnt various lessons from the last two records especially COW, most of them about going in unready and time working against us, therefore we're gonna be 120% ready for the next one hopefully to record first half of next year. Until then we've got a few dates including the 3 WAY DANCE tour which is gonna be immense (with our stand in drummer Jim of Sum of Nothing fame;) and a few in the run to Christmas, but we are easing off to get the record done. It's gonna be great;)

Well our summer stint around the UK is all but over with only three shows left before the evenings start to draw in again. But fuck me dead what a summer it's been. We've had an ace time and played with some amazing bands. More than Normal, Sonic Boom Six, Random Hand, Grown at Home and Lightyear to name but a few who have entertained us immensely!
Apart from playing some throughly enjoyable shows we've enjoyed an early morning swim in a Highlands Loch, our van breaking down 1 mile in to a 1500 mile round trip.....and then breaking down again 1499 miles later, playing late night golf in an underground car park in Newcastle and spoken to dozens of uncomprehensible drunken Scots.
Speaking of which my personal favourite experience was watching a crazy naked Shane McGowan type character from Aberdeen. Not content with sitting on the roof of the venue with his pants on his head with his meat and two veg flapping over the 20 foot drop and having the audacity to drunkenly fall asleep in the venue during our set, he also surfed our van as we drove off! Crazy bastard!
So we can now look forward to the Wasted Festival, the AntFest and what looks to be a cracker in our neighbouring town(?) of Istead Rise before cracking on with the next album. Si once again has been cracking off tunes faster than Ive been cracking off and we're looking forward to playing a few more of them hopefully on the 3 way Dance tour in the Autumn.
Thanks to all the cool people we've met (especially Aaron from Dunoon) and anyone who came to a show and enjoyed it;)
