GOOD NEWS !!

It's official everybody. My time away from you has finally ended. I will be back out there playing for ya'll by the start of the new year. And I must say I CAN'T WAIT! In my year of recuperation I've had alot of time to count my blessings and right there at the top of the list is the great joy my fans bring to me. I've missed seeing ya'll. You know there is a wonderful give and take between the entertainer and his or her audience. Sure we appreciate it when you purchase our CD's and DVD's, that acknowledges the fact that you enjoy our work. But it is the face to face meetings at the live performances that really keep us all going.

So check my calendar to see the tour dates and be sure to say hello when you see me in your town. I have not only restored my health in the past year but I have secured a place for my fans in my heart forever. Your letters and emails and prayers have played a major role in my recovery. I look forward to showing you my sincere appreciation when I see you. And that will be soon. Thanks for everything.

MY NEWLY RELEASED CHRISTMAS CD (I'll Be Home For Christmas with Special Guest Syreeta Neal) IS NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE AT WWW.KENNYNEAL.NET!!!
 
Without these songs around my house, Christmas was not complete. 
 
Every year we would blow the dust off the 45 records and get ready 
for another celebration listening to Charles Brown and Amos Milburn. 
I thought this was real cool because I knew Robert Milburn who is 
Amos' brother. As time went on I got a chance to know Charles Brown 
and also Lowell Folsom whom I played numerous shows with. 
 
So this was my way of capturing my Christmas growing up as a kid. 
I'd like to thank my son and daughter, Kenny Jr. and Syreeta and my 
band, Frederick, Darnell and Bryan for helping me to complete this 
Christmas CD that's been long over due. 
 
But it was well worth the while, by having my children and family 
join me on this project that will be here for everyone to enjoy for 
years to come.

Dear Friends, Family and Fans,

Through the years I have entertained you, spent time with you,
gotten to know many of you, and can call many of you my friend. I
enjoy making music for you more than you will ever know. And you
have shown your appreciation for my efforts in so many ways. I am
and will always be grateful for your support, your enjoyment and
your friendship.

Now I must take this opportunity to share something personal with
you. A few months ago, during a routine physical, I was told by my
doctor that I have an illness that required extensive treatment and
plenty of rest. The doctor said that the treatment would take 48
weeks. However, they said I could finish out the summer schedule of
festivals and club dates before I began the treatment. That was
very important to me, as I wanted to see all of you before I
started. Due to the extensiveness of the treatment, I must take a
year off from performing. This in no way diminishes my love of the
blues, nor does it mean that I won't be involved with all of you.
You see, I am sending out my band, including the addition of my son,
Kenny Jr., daughter, Syreeta and nephew, Tyree to carry on the Kenny
Neal tradition. They will be my emissaries. They will keep you
posted as to my progress. I know your love and support for me will
carry over to them. I am still recording music at home, finishing
up my Christmas CD as you read this.

The Kenny Neal Band that will be representing me, looks forward to
bringing you great "blues" joy in the future. There will be many
surprise guests sitting in with them so be sure to continue checking
the website calendar. We will all keep you informed and I welcome
your letters and your prayers. Thank you for always being there for
