Hey Everybody,

I was a huge fan of the original Knight Rider series...I was only 3 when it came out, so give me a break.  When I heard they were going to bring it back I was skeptical but somewhat optimistc too.  Either way I had to witness it, train wreck or not.

Well it ended up being quite the train wreck indeed.  Even K.I.T.T.'s "nano-tech skin" couldn't save the show from that crash!  From horrable acting, a very poorly written script and even the special effects, which relied way too much on CGI, left a lot to be desired.  The car was boring too.  It had a very sparse, stock looking dash with just a computer screen in the center console.  I think the original dash is more exciting even by today's standards.  Val Kilmer's voice is not right at all for K.I.T.T.  The Mustang is also to retro looking for a "futuristic super car."

The most exciting part of the show was Hasselhoff's cameo at the end.  You know these people can't act when Hasselhoff comes on and looks like Deniro compared to these hacks.   I mean c'mon, if you can't keep up with Hasselhoff, then you better go put in an application at McDonald's.

I hope this show dies before it destroys the legacy of the original which may have been cheese. but it least it was good cheese!

A question I get constantly is why did I name my CD Dissecting the Frog?  There are a few reseaons and none are because of a hatred of frogs or any animals.  In fact I love all animals even frogs!

There is a saying that one of my college professors used during a class about analyzing music.  He said that, "analyzing a song is like dissecting a frog, you find out how it works, but you kill it in the process."  That really stuck with me and while was finallizing the recordings on this CD I wanted everything to sound as good as it possibly could so I kept going back and remixing or re-recording or eq-ing or whatever I thought could use more tweaking after a while I began to fear that I was dissecting the frog.  Well instead of killing the frog, or my music, I let well enough alone but that saying ran through my head so many times during all of that, that it seemed only natural to use it as a title.

First let me say thanks for visiting my Myspace page, and checking out my music!

Dissecting the Frog is my first official recorded release.  It's basically a snapshot of my musical life up to the point of it's release in September 2005.  At that point I had been playing guitar for about 7 years.  I started writing some of the music that ended up on Dissecting the Frog, 2 years into that.  Awakening was one of those really early tunes, it changed a bit but the main idea is from around 2000.  In the fall of 2001 I enrolled at Berklee College of Music and continued writing when I could.  I wrote S.B.S., Bar Room Brawl and 74 while I was in school.  After I graduated from college in the summer of 2003, I moved back to south Florida and continued writing.  Now I was playing these songs live which was a great way to work out the bugs and see what people thought of them.  Well it took me about another year, year and a half to complete the writing.  I was making recordings all along the time when I was writing, so the recording process was more of a clean up and sometimes re-record process that took about a month in 2005.  Then came mastering which Kam Falk helped immensely with.  I had to do some re-mixing and a few more re-records during the mastering process before I ended up with the final result you can hear today.

All in all it turned out to be better than I hoped and I'm very proud of my first effort.  There's is nothing I enjoy more than making music for you to enjoy and maybe even to inspire you some way.  With that said, please enjoy my music!

Musically yours,

David
