The good folks over at self-titled Magazine invited Cousin Cole and I to DJ at their next Oscillations party which happens to be next Thursday over at Studio B. I put together a short mix to promote the tour that Cole and I are about to embark on. There’s a lot of percussion on this mix from disco funk excursions to indie tribal banging to baked clay techno. My remix of "Just Like Honey" for the Headless Heroes album, "The Silence of Love," is out now. The project was put together by Eddie Bezalel and features Alela Diane on vocals with Joey Waronker, Woody Jackson, Gus Seyffert, Leo Abrahams, and Josh Klinhoffer. The album is a collection of songs (classic and obscure) from the catalogues of Daniel Johnston, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Vashti Bunyan, and more. Cousin and I did an exclusive mix for the great dudes over at the Allez Allez blog based outta the UK. We went in a more leftfield / weirded-out direction for this one to give you a little something different to bump. My section has got some remixes I've done that will be out this Halloween on a limited-run vinyl EP entitled CANYON DANCING.
