Hi everyone...

Thanks to everyone who came along to the Sage gig on Saturday night, I had a great evening and hope everyone enjoyed it as much as me...! Only just recovering, though... the after-show party went on until 4 o'clock and I had quite a number of grown-up drinks... the walk into town on Sunday was a little laboured...!

The album is all but finished... we've just got to get it mastered and then plan in the official release date (to keep updated you can now sign up to my newsletter from the front page... I promise not to send any adverts for penis extenders or Viagra... unless you really need such products...!) Keep checking back for new songs as I'll change them intermitently for ya'll to get a full flavour of the album...

Bye for now kids...

Well... the waiting is over... this week sees me playing the Sage Gateshead on Saturday night... starting to get nervous now as we've sold out... it's going to be a capacity crowd... we spent last week rehearsing and it's starting to come together... the songs are sounding like the album itself, which is a good thing as it's the first time they're going to be heard in their new guise...!

So, if you're heading on down on Saturday, I'll see you there... if not, then maybe I won't...

Good day anyone and everyone who reads my witterings... well, the album recording is going swimmingly and we're all but finished recording... just a couple of vocals left to do and maybe a few tweaks here and there then it's mixing time...! We've all been in the studio for quite some time now and cabin fever is definitely setting in... we're even starting to finish each others sentences (weird...) All of the tracks on the album are sounding great (but I would say that, wouldn't I...?) and all of the musicians have definitely contributed their own touches to the songs... it's been an all round team effort... (what is this? A school report...?!?)

Watch this space over the next few weeks as we start to put some samplers onto the site for ya'll to hear...

Oh, and it looks like the gig at the SAge is going to be a sellout so anyone wanting tickets should skidaddle along and get them now... the ground floor is already sold out...

Anyway... back to the cabin...!

Just for no other reason than I need to download them myself, Smile Again and Life's A Flood will be available for free download for the next few days... so help yourself if you want them as mp3s... feel free to play them to all of your friends, relatives and even those people you barely know...

Those of you who've been here before will notice that I've put a couple of new songs up for ya'll to have a little listen to... hope you like...!

Life's A Flood has a different feel to my usual stuff but I'm really pleased with the way it's turned out... the other track, Smile Again, is also a different sound for me and features Mark Dickinson on piano... been playing it to a few people and it's getting very favourable reactions...

And it's only Wednesday, kids... I must be getting old... still feel like I'm recovering from the weekend...!

Coma back soon...

Ah... 'tis studio friday again, ever the excuse to hit the bars of the Ouseburn Valley in the name of art, music and all that is creative... the Stonefish team have had a hard week and will be rewarding ourselves with a few well earned bottles of raspberry beer... it's like pop..!

We've been working on some acoustic tracks for the Before Night Falls night at the Sage and they seem to be coming along nicely... Wednesday saw Johnny Dickinson and I recording a track together which, though I do say so myself, sounds amazing... he's an unbelievable slide guitarist... and the song, 'Life's A Flood' has a really cool delta blues vibe to it... in fact, give us a couple of days to mix it and it'll probably be up on myspace for ya'll to hear...

So, all ramblings aside, things are starting to fall into place... we've secured a producer, got the band together and it's now all systems go... the 'Another Chapter Sessions' start for real on 24th July... I'll keep everyone posted as to how it's coming along... as well as posting demos as we go along...

Right then... enough banter from me... I'm off for some more raspberry beer...!

Well, here it is... the first posting in my very first blog. Have thusfar managed to avoid tarnishing the web with my inane witterings for fear that it could all get out of hand and the Interweb as we know it should grind to a halt. Nevertheless, here it begins... and, as suspected,  I have started as I mean to go on with a large smattering of  pointless babble.

Anyway, kids, back to the point (if there ever is one) I've just started recording the new album... well, I say just started, it's been in the offing for over a year and we've spent three or four weeks recording already with little to show for our endeavours... went off down the wrong track methinks and ended up sounding like Def Leppard...! So a change of approach is called for and we've decided to strip it all down and go back to basics. So expect a folky, smoky affair with the occassional hint of alt.country (sounds like a recipe for gumbo..!)

There are a few acoustic demos on the main page which will change intermittently as and when new versions are done... I intend on updating the tunes quite regularly with acoustic demo versions of the songs so that everyone (well, those that find their way to my place in this cyber shanty town) can hear how it's coming along... if you like something let me know... if you hate something, let me know... if you feel non-commital then, come on, try and have an opinion...
