Hey, this is former Death Militia bassist Stephen Mills! I now play guitar in a band called Hammersmith. We will be releasing our independant CD on May 29 at Sneaky Dee's in Toronto. Please check out our page and have a listen to three songs from the CD, entitled Temperature's Rising.

Whew!!!  It's finally done...the Death Militia "Noise Agony Mayhem" 7" single is finally ready to hit the streets!!!  Many thanks to Lee and Brendon over at No List for printing the unbelievable covers for these, Andy VanDette at Buzz Audio for the mastering and Tim Xavier at Manmade Mastering for cutting the vinyl.  Totally loud, raw and rude metal from the glorious Toronto metal scene of the mid-1980's.

As previously announced there are only 300 copies TOTAL, with 100 each on BLACK, WHITE and GREEN vinyl.  2 tracks from back in the day and featuring the 1st real incarnation of Death Militia: Evan Wilson on vocals, Dave Read on guitar, Mark Faria on bass and Robb McVean on the double kicks.  Those of you who have the Death Militia CD will want this for the B-Side, the previously unissued track "Feeling The Pain".

These bad boys are already starting to fly out of here so let me know if you want to pick one up.  They are $7.00 each (US or Canadian) or $17.00 for a set of all 3.  Each copy has an insert with notes by Laurent Ramadier of Snakebit Zine, and each color version has a different replica Death Militia flyer insert as well.

These WON'T be repressed so act fast!!!!

PayPal to david@vinylrecordguru, or contact me at that email or through MySpace for the mailing address if sending a cheque.

Yes indeed folks...I just got the test pressings in for the upcoming Death Militia 7" and they are INSANE!!!  Totally loud, raw and rude vintage speed metal just the way you like it.  My heart is still pounding after repeated listening...honestly, I could not be happier with the sound on this little fucker.  Mucho kudos to Tim Xavier at Manmade Mastering for the unreal cutting job on this.

For those who don't know, this single is for the tracks "Death Militia" and "Feeling The Pain", both were recorded back in 1985 with the original Death Militia line-up of Evan Wilson, Mark Faria, Robb McVean and myself Dave Read.  The first track is from the 'You Can't Kill What's Already Dead' CD that came out on Evil Legend last year, and the B-Side is previously unreleased except for when it was on the 'Onslaught of Death' cassette demo from way back.  The 7" is being released by us in conjunction with the maniacs at No List Records, we're working on the artwork now, and the record should be out at some point in the next couple months, stay tuned.

Oh yeah, it's going to be an insanely limited edition (probably 300 copies total unless Lee @ No List tells me otherwise), with 100 copies on black vinyl, 100 on clear vinyl and 100 on green vinyl.  Yep, we do it right!

Dave

OK so I put out a call to one of the former Death Militia members to write something for the blog and this is what I got back.  Honourable mention to anyone who guesses which fucker/clown sent this in:

"I remember seeing Deathmilitia back in the day In fact I was at everyone one of the second version of the bands shows,So I was really looking forward to hearing there lastest offering.Well turns out that this was one of there only recordings and the bloody thing is over 20 yrs old!,So I listened to the music and was surprised at how strong it was.The lyrics on the other hand I think my grandmother writes better..bloody wanker!..So i wanted to find out what these blokes have been doing lately. I heard that little Dave (he knows who he is) was playing in some 80s rock funk band about screaming indians or something and is back in Canada after dodging a bullet in NewYork Im guessin..The bass player steve or steveo as he calls himself is now starring in a bunch of films were as he and his buds kick the shit out of each other or is that the other steveo? never seen the two of them together makes you wonder.?.The drummer Cory I forget his last name had trouble deciding on being a drummer or a motocross driver so he decided to combine the two and was having a very successful carreer till he got excited and did a drumsolo while doing a backflip on his bike and ended up with a drum stick lodged in his colon ouch. The tall geezer known as big Dave(he knows who he is) was struck down in the prime of his life while when skinnydippin in the Detroit river with some chickies he was bitten by a stingray!.I know what your thinking they usually sting people I guess this guys was rotted off and he decided to bite,The buggers are everywhere these days..And Jason lives in Brampton...Well just thought Id drop you blokes a line keep up the great work lets here something from this decade next time maybe?? keep being dead Deathmiltia and remember  Tap Rules                                     sincerely The Nigel Tufnel"

WOW!!  Just the other day I got a message here on MySpace from original Death Militia bassist MARK FARIA.  I'd been trying to locate him when we were putting the CD Anthology together but to no avail, and then suddenly there he was.  Mark joined our original line-up back in 1985 after having played in Massacre with Mark Watts, and we recorded the 'Onslaught of Death' demo with him on board, as well as playing some great shows, most memorably at the DMZ in December of 1985 opening for Sudden Impact.  He left shortly after that show to pursue other musical interests, and Steve Mills joined us in early 1986, starting Phase 2 of Death Militia.

Mark is doing great, and still playing bass.  Check out his MySpace page and say hello at: http://www.myspace.com/mapf

I'm still looking for original members Evan Wilson and Robb McVean!!!!!
