i'd like to thank the dudes in THOU, stefan at vendetta, james plotkin for
mastering the project, and our friend blaine for engineering our side.  THANKS!!!

also, if you haven't checked out HULL or BATILLUS yet...  DO IT!  seriously, they
both fucking rule.  DARK CASTLE as well, we played with them in nashville and
in addition to being a great band they are also wonderful human beings.  i'll put
up a little blog about the tour and some pictures soon.  if you happen to have
pictures of us playing on the tour, please send me some copies!

we'll be in NYC this weekend at the relapse/brooklyn vegan showcase at cmj.
see you there, thanks!

we've destroyed beards in three cities now.  philly was the first night of the tour,
kung fu necktie is a really cool place and if you've never been there you should
definitely check it out.  this was our first time seeing BATILLUS since the addition
of fade kainer on vocals and synths.  dude, BATILLUS was awesome before and
they're even better now.  fade really brings a lot to the band and they sound
fucking great.  we had also never played with HULL before, only heard their shit
on myspace.  HULL rules, they sound so thick and tonalicious.  you need to see
them live, the crappy myspace player does them no justice.

on to the talking head in baltimore the next night.  we played with AMBUVEGA
which includes our buddy brian (DARSOMBRA, MEATJACK).  they were really
cool too, brian has a baritone les paul and an 8-string rickenbacker bass, and
he knows how to use them.  we got to see some of our friends in baltimore
so that was fun too.

house party at the marblehaus in college park next.  we played in the classic
punk rock basement...  you know, holes in the wall in the shape of people,
light show by means of flicking the switches, toilet seat on the floor beside the
toilet...  you've all been to places like this i'm sure.  if not, you're missing out.
this was probably the best sounding room so far, which is funny cause it was
just a dank basement with a crappy pa, but the show was totally killer.  locals
OLD CROW opened it up and kicked ass.  everybody was really drunk and having
a good time.  the only bummer was that someone puked on the drum cases at
some point, but luckily we were close enough to stay at home last night and clean
that shit up.  oh well, what are you gonna do?

hitting the road for virginia beach tonight, check the calendar for the rest of the
schedule.  we're looking forward to seeing you out there.  thanks!

we're wrapping up our split with THOU.  i know it's taken forever...  but it's totally worth it.
james plotkin is putting the final magical touches on it, then it will be sent off to the press.
expect a release within the next two months on vendetta records.  we're pretty excited
about this as THOU is totally fucking awesome and one of our favorite bands.  i'll be putting
one of our songs up on our myspace player as soon as i'm done writing this.

and...  our buddies at metalsucks are hosting a free download of the song right now!
so go download it, share it with your friends, and come out and see us play this month!

we're really looking forward to hitting the road and destroying your beard next month.
so tell all of your friends and enemies to come out and witness the spectacle.  also,
we're not too proud to drink your booze, smoke your weed, eat your food, or sleep on
your floor...  so if you can help us out in any way, come talk to us at the show.  shit,
even if you can't help us, come and talk to us at the show!  we'll see you soon, thanks!

Along with an upcoming U.S. tour in Sept, Virginia based down-tempo punishing doom
metal act SALOME will release their next full-length through Profound Lore records.

Already making quite a reputation with their self-titled debut and their crushing live
performances, the three-piece (namely vocalist Kat, guitarist Rob Moore, and drummer
Aaron Deal) are currently writing material for their sophomore album and plan on entering
the studio late this year to deliver their most punishing material to date.  Expect the next
Salome full-length to drop sometime first half of 2010.  In the meantime, along with an
upcoming split LP with Louisiana sludge gods THOU, Salome will be hitting the road this
September with BATTILUS and HULL.

PLANET CARAVAN FESTIVAL                    www.myspace.com/planetcaravanfestival

Planet Caravan is a unique two-day music festival that celebrates the original sound of heavy music. The festival will take place at The Orange Peel Social Aid and Pleasure Club in Asheville, North Carolina. It features a line-up of some of the best established and emerging hard rock and heavy metal acts that will perform in an extremely rare and intimate setting. The debut festival showcases all things heavy and includes bands from a wide array of sub-genres, from doom, stoner and psychedelic to progressive and experimental. Planet Caravan spotlights the torchbearers of heavy music- the bands that hark back to its original sound and those who take it to creative new places.

Planet Caravan adds weight to an already heavy line-up!  AC Entertainment announces a second wave of artists for the inaugural Planet Caravan festival.  Featuring an exciting array of underground and up-and-coming heavy bands, new artists added to the line-up include Brooklyn experimental metal trio Tombs, southern psych-metal band Zoroaster, thundering riff gods Bison b.c., and old-school doomsters The Gates of Slumber.  Also added to the bill are North Carolina’s crushing Sourvein, Brooklyn post-metal outfit Hull, and the massively doomy Salome and Batillus.

The complete festival line-up is: Clutch, Pentagram, Orange Goblin, Kylesa, Burst, YOB, Wino, Astra, Revolution Mother, Taddy Porter, Tombs, Bison b.c., Zoroaster, The Gates of Slumber, Orchid, Sourvein, Hull, Salome, Batillus, Pick Up The Snake, Lionize

Planet Caravan has added single day tickets and the schedule is up on their website...

hello,

we're working on a tour for sept. with our friends HULL and BATILLUS.
we originally had a plan to get to little rock and back for a festival that
we had been invited to play.  well, we started working on it and then
had someone "helping" us book the tour.  since then, the festival has
been canceled and the person that was "helping" us turned out to be
"doing nothing" instead.

so here we are, with a few shows confirmed in random places several
days apart.  we've got to get this thing together and we need your help!
so if you live in or near any of the cities that are listed as "TBA please help"
on our page...  please help!  we love playing at sweet house shows or
DIY spaces as well as clubs.  if you know someone that might be able to
help us, please contact us.  thanks in advance, hopefully we'll see you
in september!

thanks,

SALOME
