*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Hey folks!!

I hope you're all having a wonderful Christmas, and a very cool Yule... :O)

And thank you so much for all your support throughout the year... next year is already shaping up to be amazing, but I'll tell you all about it in January!!!

In the meantime I recorded a little acoustic ditty on Christmas Eve, just before midnight...
I was sat there drinking wine, and looking out of the window at the snow on the ground... and decided to record a tune...

Check it out on myspace, now!

I really hope you like it, and am wishing you all a very happy and peaceful New Year....

Dave x

From the Desk of Dave K

Hi Folks!!

Murray and Dave – Performing 25 November

Just writing this while sat in the studio with Murray mixing our album... :O) I am just so ridiculously proud of this recording so far, and ecstatic with the way it's come out!! REALLY can't wait for everyone to hear it!!!!

We'll probably finish mixing in the next two weeks, but unfortunately it's now unlikely to be out before Xmas...

But a brand new release for 2010 sounds so much better anyway!!! :O)

We may even put some tasters up on our website in the next few weeks...
If you haven't seen our website already, then please visit...

www.hockridge-kilminster.com

It's work in progress at the moment, but we hope you like it... :O)

Murray and I been in the studio WAY too much recently and consequently haven't played live in long while... So we're pretty excited about our show (possibly our last this year!!) on 25th November at La Raza in Cambridge... So come bearing gifts... :O)

Find out more here!  We begin at approximately ten pm.

Surprise  NYC  Roger Waters Charity Appearance

A few weeks ago Roger Waters asked if I would fly out to New York to play a tune with him at the Rita Hayworth Gala for Alzheimer's Association... I of course said yes!!!

I love helping out at charity events. It's great to be able to do the thing that I love, and help raise money for worthy causes at the same time... especially at the world famous Waldorf Hotel!!! (Sorry, we're all out of Waldorfs.... ;O)

This was a pretty big event too, with all sorts of celebrities in attendence....
John M
cEnroe (my favourite tennis player ever!!!), (author) Jay McInerney, David Hyde Pierce (The brother in Frasier!!), Dan Aykroyd (who you gonna call?!!), (TV presenter) Regis Philbin, (TV chef) Eric Ripert and Art Garfunkel!!

Unfortunately Art wasn't singing... Art was there for Art's sake.... sorry!!!

Brooke Shields was also there, wandering around backstage and looking rather stunning.... and they auctioned one of Rogers guitars to help raise money too... :O)

Dave performs with Guthrie Govan  December 6th and 10th—Rare UK Dates

Erotic Cakes update!!! Guthrie Govan and I will playing not one, but TWO gigs... in the UK!!!!! Yes, I can't quite believe it either....

 .

The first is on the 6th December in Braintree, Essex.... I still don't have the full details yet, but I'll post them as soon as I get 'em!!!

It is something to do with these guys though, so feel free to hassle them!!!

www.peachguitars.com

The second is on 10th December in conjunction with Guitar Techniques and PMT Music, somewhere in darkest Birmingham

'Erotic Cakes' also features Pete Riley on drums (who also played on 'Scarlet'), and Guthrie's brother Seth Govan on bass guitar... So if you're a fan of crazy instrumental music and ridiculous guitar playing, then come along and fill your boots!!!

Guitar Break – Special! Live Instruction  November 28 and 29

Finally, I'll be doing a teaching weekend for those lovely chaps at 'Guitar Break' on 28th/29th November in Guildford... They're always great fun, and I'm really looking forward to it!!!
I think there maybe one or two spaces left, so if you're stuck for a Xmas gift idea then this might just be the perfect present.... :O)

iCon  “Urban Psalm” Live Performance DVDs

By the way, if you were at the iCon  show last February (featuring John Wetton and Geoff Downes), then you'll be pleased... nay ecstatic to hear that the DVD's are now back from the press and should be heading your way very soon.... Postal strikes permitting!!!!

And if you weren't at the show I believe a limited number will be made available to buy... We'll keep you posted!!

 .

Take care out there people... and if you're struggling to find the perfect present, then 'Scarlet' and 'Playing With Fire' CD's are still available from my website www.davekilminster.com. You can find Scarlet internationally, including at iTunes and Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk, but Playing with Fire is only available from www.davekilminster.com

Hi  Folks!!Just writing this  quickly as we prepare for yet another  intrepid jaunt across the ocean... this  time Guthrie Govan and I are  heading to Denmark to play at the Vintage Guitar  Show in Svendborg  this coming Saturday (26th September).

We're  obviously taking  the rest of the 'Erotic Cakes' with us (Seth Govan - Bass,  and  Martin Johnson - drums, standing in for Pete Riley)... and will   undoubtedly play far too many notes, and consume far too much  alcohol along  the way... :O)

If you're in the area then feel  free to drop  by!!!
http://www.vintage-show.dk ..

I've also just put up the photos from  our recent trip to the  beautiful town of Fiorano, Italy...Sorry they're pretty  much all  scenic shots, but the crew just couldn't take pictures of the band   AND hold their drinks at the same time... :O/

You can see the photos on myspace under pics or on my website at www.davekilminster.com

On the recording front Murray Hockridge and I have been  putting  the finishing touches to our first album together... It's  all sounding rather  wonderful, and I really can't wait for everyone  to hear it!! Rest assured we  will get it out there as soon as  possible!!!

By the way, I went  down to check out  Anne-Marie Helder's band 'Panic Room' the other week at 'The  Peel'  in Kingston upon Thames... what a great evening!! I had so much fun that   I ended up getting on stage with them, and jamming through their  final number  'Sandstorms'... :O)

Fortunately Howard  Rankin was there with his  trusty camera to capture the moment  too... you can see his photos on my page in myspace under pics.

And  finally, 'Icon' fans will be  pleased to hear that the long awaited (and  limited edition) live DVD  from our London show at St-Mary-Le-Bow Church last  February is due  out imminently!!!Just in case you don't know, 'Icon' is the  pet  project of the hit songwriting duo John Wetton (vocals - bass) and Geoff   Downes (keyboards - vocals) from Asia (the band, not the  continent!!).Also  featured on the live DVD are Pete Riley (drums),  former 'ELO' cellist Hugh  McDowell (on cello!!), Anne-Marie Helder  (Panic Room - Mostly Autumn) on  vocals and flute, and umm.... Oh, me  on guitar and vocals!!!

I haven't  seen the final version yet,  but it's a beautiful old church so I'm very  intrigued to see the  results!!

Take care out there... very best  wishes,Dave

Hey Everyone!!
Mad times here at the moment, but all good stuff!! Murray and I have been hard at work in the studio recording our first CD together!! The results so far are pretty amazing, and I really can't wait for everyone to hear it!!! :O) More news on that very soon... along with some studio pictures, taken during the recording process... :O)
Meanwhile our World tour of Peterborough kicks off this bank holiday weekend with not one, but TWO gigs in that ancient city!!!
Saturday, August 29
The Cellar Bar
Sunday, August 30
The Cherry Tree

Hope to see some of you there...
By the way, thanks to everyone that showed up for our Cambridge Rock Festival appearance the other week... It was actually a very difficult gig for us both, as the on stage sound was truly appalling!!! Anyway, the less said about that the better.... but hopefully it wasn't too distracting for anyone in attendance...
And we have some wonderful pictures of the event, courtesy of Anne Marie Helder, so look out for those in the near future...
Finally Guthrie and I are once again flying over to Italy for a gig together on September 5th... this time at a Guitar Festival in Fiorano... Check out tour dates  for details. Fans of insane guitar would be mad to miss it!!! And probably fans of Ferrari's too!!! Anyway, I'm really looking forward to playing all that crazy stuff again... :O)
I'm also apparently doing a small clinic on the 6th, which should also be fun!! And as always I'll be armed with my trusty camera, so I'll make sure I have a record of the event...
More soon...
Take care out there people!!!

P.S. I've just uploaded my 'scenic shots' from the Pistoia Blues Festival the Guthrie and I played at recently... Just click on myspace pictures. :O)

A special note from Dave Kilminster:

Cambridge Rock Festival, Murray Recording and Guthrie!

Hey everyone!!

Just taking a quick break from recording to remind you all that Murray Hockridge and I will be playing at the Cambridge Rock Festival this coming Saturday 8th August...

http://cambridgerockfestival.co.uk/#/crf-09-stages/4533241330

We'll be on stage at 1:45pm, and we're also filming and recording the event, so please feel free to come along and make a lot of noise!!! You may even get your mug on camera!!! :O)

And speaking of recording, the studio sessions with Murray are going amazingly well!!! :O) We've already recorded thirteen tracks in the last four days, and are having so much fun that we're all set to throw down some more tunes tomorrow... :O)

We'll obviously keep you updated with all the details, and I'll try and get a little studio photo blog together very soon...

Take care out there,

Dave x

PS… Ps. I have an intense dislike of YouTube and all it represents, but someone sent me a clip recently from a show I played at in Italy with Guthrie Govan last month...

And it did capture a really nice moment... Guthrie and I playing 73 notes together in perfect harmony... :O)

Check it out at www.davekilminster.com by clicking here http://www.davekilminster.com/discography_performance.html#

Hope you enjoy it.... try not to blink though, as you may miss it!!!
