Hi everybody,
Thank you so much for coming to my myspace page. I have to admit that I'm still sort of new to computers and I don't even own one.
I'm on my daughter's computer right now, reading all of the nice things you all are saying and I really appreciate all the things you are saying about me and my music. I hope you are enjoying my brand new "His Hands" CD. I'm having so much fun singing these new songs about the many faces of love.
I just recently returned from a ten city tour of Europe where I performed in London, Paris, Glasgow, Oslo, Amsterdam.. baby, I was all over the place.
Every show was sold out. I had never been to Oslo and a couple of the cities we went to before, so i was surprised that so many people came out.
I sang songs from the new CD. I sang "You Don't Have Far to Go" and the title song in most of the shows. When we went to Paris, I didn't sing "His Hands" because the song is very slow and you have to pay close attention to the words. With the language barrier, I thought the song would slow the show down too much, so I took it off the song list.
There's another new song on the CD called "I'll Sing A Love Song to You. " When I was sin London, I did a live radio broadcast with just a guitarist and we sang it sort of unplugged.
I liked that vibe, so in the shows, I started off singing it accapella and then just had a simple guitar pick it up after the first verse. It turned pretty good.
The rest of the concerts included the songs people know me by such as "Young Hearts Run Free," "I'd Rather Be An Old Man's Sweetheart (Than A Young One's Fool)," "In the Ghetto" and "You Got the Love" which has become sort of an underground hit here in the states thanks to "Sex and the City" using it in their final episode.
I feel very blessed.
It was so much fun and the people who came out to see me really made me feel loved. I haven't performed pop music here in the states in like over 20 years so I look forward to beginning to perform these songs here in the States like I have been doing in Europe for the last ten years.
This is sort of a busy season for me (doing radio and other things to promote the new CD), so I may not be able to check in everyday; but I'm going to check in often and I look forward to hearing from you.
I'm going to sign off now, but I want to leave you with this thought for today. I wrote this with you in mind.
Life is yours: accept nobodys definition of your life Life is yours: dont waste a moment Life is your's: define yourself Life is your's: never allow yourself to be bullied into submission or silence Life is your's: do not allow yourself to be made a victim.
The only day we have is today and weve got to make the best out of every day of our lives.
Personally, Ive had some rough times, disappointing times in my life But its made me who I am today: strong. I want you to be strong too.
Love, Candi
