Today's Election
Hello Everyone,
This is the first time I have ever posted anything in my blog. It it not something I have typically been drawn to do however, I am trying to use whatever means I have at hand to encourage everyone to do their part in order to effect change in today's election. VOTE OBAMA!!! I'm sure it is obvious to all how incredibly historic and pivotal this election is. In my opinion Senator Barack Obama has put forth ideas and philosophies that provide the best possible answers to many of the questions we are faced with both nationally and globally.
To responsibly disengage ourselves from our occupation of Iraq and in doing so, liberate our military to assist in other areas that need our help. We must be able to provide that assistance in a way that serves those regions needs as well as our national interests. Our military is so overburdened that we cannot reliably provide that assistance in areas that need us. The current situation in Afghanistan is a perfect example.
To re-configure our national economic system so as to defend against disasters in the future similar to what we're facing now. We need comprehensive legislative reforms in place to avert possible meltdowns of our financial system.
Radically reforming the health care system and in doing so possibly providing every person in this country with medical coverage.
Creating a new energy ideology so that we can rigorously address the pressing environmental issues that are so important to our future. Global warming is real! Fossil fuels are disappearing forever as we speak! We need to act now.
These are but a few of the reasons one should vote for Senator Obama today. We need to profoundly and radically address the issues at hand. The time for half measures has passed!! Even if you live in a state that is overwhelmingly for Obama, your vote will still make an important difference. No matter how much Obama possibly wins by in states that are no contest, his potential Presidency will be greatly helped by a popular landslide as a large victory provides a President with more of a mandate to enact legislation in Congress. In addition to these issues he has spoken on so eloquently during his campaign, he also seems to have, (in my opinion), great taste in music! He is a Miles Davis fan and waxes at length on Stevie Wonder's recorded oeuvre. To quote him, "If I had one musical hero, it would have to be Stevie Wonder. When I was at that point where you start getting involved in music, Stevie had that run with Music of My Mind, Talking Book, Fulfillingness' First Finale and Innervisions, and then Songs in the Key of Life. Those are as brilliant a set of five albums as we've ever seen." I concur!
We desperately need a President with progressive ideas in order to have even a chance of repairing the damage done during the last eight years both domestically and internationally. Vote OBAMA today!! GO BARACK!!!!
