As regular readers of our blog and listeners to the station will know,
back in October 2008 we were broadcasting to over 250,000 people each
month. The cost of providing this many live streams became to crippling
for our small, not-for-profit station and we could no longer finance so
much from our own pockets.

At the beginning of 2009, we brought
Beach House Radio back on a very limited budget. This has enabled us to
provide a handfull of live streams to keep the station alive. However,
now that our listeners are flocking back and finding us again, we are
constantly maxing out our live streams. The only way we can provide
enough for everyone to listen at any time is to raise enough cash to
boost the amount of live streams we can produce.

Therefore, we
have created some new advertising opportunities which you may be
interested in if you own, run or look after a small company or retail
store.

WEB BANNER ADVERT (6 MONTHS) - $35.00

BASIC TEXT/SITE LINK (6 MONTHS)- $15.00

ON AIR ADVERT (1 MONTH & AD CREATION) - $60.00

ON AIR TV ADVERT ON OUR YOU TUBE TV CHANNEL (1 MONTH) - $30.00

BLOG ADVERT (300 WORDS & 3 DEEP URL LINKS) - $15.00

For further information, please email us - station@beachhouseradio.com

If you do not wish to advertise but would like to help out, click on "Join Us"

Have a great week.

Michael E is no newcomer to Beach House Radio,
we have been playing various tracks and remixes from Michael for some
time now and he is good friends with BHR favourite Charlie North.

In
a recent chat with Michael, he explained how he "fell in love with
music" at an early age and took piano lessons as a child. As he grew,
so did his passion and involvement with music. While making his way
around the US bases in Europe, he began to compose his own music. "As
technology advanced, I got the idea that I could do everything;
composing, producing, performing, mixing..." says Michael. "The
technology became affordable and allowed my vision to come to pass."

We have added a host of new tracks from Michael to our playlist - Listen Live Now

Long time listeners to Beach House will already be familiar with Catya
Mare. We first featured Catya back in 2006, debuting some of her
original tracks.

Since then Catya has been pretty busy. After a
move to the US in 2007, she signed a record deal with a US label. More
recently, she was nominated for the Hollywood Award last November and
won the Billboard World Song Contest this February.

Despite all this, she has still found time to put together some great new tracks:

Catya Mare - Adventurous You
Catya Mare - Destiny
Catya Mare - Echoes
Catya Mare - Epic Love
Catya Mare - Finally Together
Catya Mare - Reminiscence (updated version)
Catya Mare - When I Met You remix

All playing in rotation - Listen Live

For more information about Catya, visit our main site (Beach House Radio) and click on the Friends and Music page or you can catch her directly on MySpace or via her own site Catya Mare.

More from Michael E next week.

Okay, first artist of the month since our return. Lemonchill.

Great track now added to the playlist - En Larmes - check it out.

Meanwhile, here's what Lemonchill had to say to BHR:

"I grew up while listening to music all my life (all kinds of music:
60,
70, 80, jazz, electronic, industrial, gothic, synthpop, ambient, chill
out, lounge, trance and more). In 2005 I finished my studies at BPM
music college where I learned everything I know today. Since then for
two years I have been making and creating music.

Now I am trying
to combine all of these great music styles to one group in my album
"SENTANT". It is a mixture of all those music styles. My album
"SENTANT” (feeling in French) took me over one year to finish. It is
very intense and personal, after a very painful relationship I went
through. I guess this whole album is like a therapy for me to "let out"
everything I had in my heart through music. The girl that was the "muse
and inspiration" for this album will remain a mystery for now. I think
everyone that heard my music can hear the emotions and feelings
floating in my music as I wrote in the headlines: this music is for
your heart and soul.
enjoy...."

Now playing - Beach House Radio

PS. Full playlist track details coming soon.

Hey guys, we're back!

After a few long months of crying into our beer about our sad demise, we've got our act together and BHR is back on air.

Okay,
so pro's and cons - for now, streams are extremely limited. As you may
know, after our original broadcast was listed in the iTunes directory,
we could not cope with the amount of listeners. So for now, we hope you
can log onto the stream but if you can't, be patient. Oddly, I would
ask for you not to pass our details on for the time being as I am sure
we will be pretty full up with previous listeners.

Another con
(for the time being) is that the playlist will be pretty basic until we
get time to play around with it some more and fix the bugs and tweaks,
so please bear with us.

Finally the pros (well pro actually,
there's only one!) - we are now broadcasting in superb 128kbps quality.
For non techies, this means you can listen to our station in superb
quality.

Anyway, we're gonna be pretty busy over the coming weeks but as usual, get in touch with any comments or questions.

Nice to be back.

After just over 2 years of broadcasting, Beach House Radio will cease broadcasting at the end of October.

The sad reason behind throwing 2 years of hard work in the bin is that we have done too well.

The recent inclusion in iTunes radio directory has led for unprecidented demand for our streams. Unfortunately, it costs a sackfull of money to add extra bandwidth.

We hoped, through the help of sponsors and advertisers, we could bring you our station for years to come. However, it seems the companies out there do not share our view and we have been unable to raise funds.

I and the other 2 partners have run out of money and we just can't afford to pump any more into it.

This decision has only just been taken, so things are a little "up in the air" at the moment. We'll report back in the blog when the decision sink in.

In all, a sad day for us - our dream is over.

Before we get onto our craking new artist of the week, we would just like to thank iTunes for including Beach House Radio in the iTunes radio list. Check it out, open iTunes and select Radio on the left hand side. Next, choose Ambient and then Beach House Radio.

This weeks new artist is STERLING ANGEL, a New York based downtempo ambient / trance music act  composed of producer/songwriter John Sterling and featured vocalist
Angelique Sirois.

John Sterling (STERLING) has been producing music since 1995, but this represents a new direction in his music....a sexier, darker, more aggressive sound maintaining his trademark atmospheric feel. Along with Angelique's provocative lyrics and vocals, STERLING ANGEL is now upon the world with its first release - OBSESSION (2008).

If you want to know more about STERLING ANGEL and STERLING, please go to www.sterlingangel.com and MySpace site www.myspace.com/sterlingangelmusic

Further details on our website at www.beachhouseradio.com with tracks Oasis, Taken Over Me, Tears of Heaven & White now in rotation on our playlist reaching over 150,000 listeners each month.

Have a good week.

If you represent a company or product and would like to reach our 150,000 listeners, please contact us directly or download our sponsorship PDF from the website.

Hey world. Life in Beach House world seems to be a little more hectic than it should be. You would think this would lead to a long and exciting blog entry but all the work we are doing is the boring and mundane necessities.

So, to cheer ourselves up we have been listening to tracks from Carlos Russo, our featured artist this week.

Carlos is the first artist to be featured on our sister station, Beach House Radio : Terraza. Although Terraza doesn't officially launch until September, we have been test broadcasting for the last few months on limited stream availability. So far you guys love it, keep an eye out for the official launch towards the end of September.

Here is a little bit about Carlos and his new track "Massive Joy" which is now playing on the Terraza test stream:

Carlos Russo was born on the 25th April 1986 in Olten (Switzerland). Since he was 11 years old, his passion has been making house music. He's doing everything to share this passion with all clubbers all around the world!

Carlos Russo has also played with famous DJs like: Ian Carey, CJ Mackintosh, Dieter Sin Plomo (Ibiza), Cirillo (Ibiza), Dan Ghenacia (FR), Joe T. Vanelli (IT), Claudio Coccoluto (IT), Ralf (IT), Gianni Parrini (IT), Roberto Molinaro (IT), Thomson (DE), Sign (DE), Mr. Mike and many more.

Well what a week we have had. From being bombarded with great new music from the likes of this weeks Artist of the Week, Area 27; to spending 3 days in the english countryside listening to some great music.

If you want to find out what we got up to at the Big Chill Festival (UK), visit www.beachhouseradio.com/bigchill.html Here you will find loads of pics and a quick insight into our weekend. Video clips are also available on our TV channel at www.youtube.com/beachhouseradio

We are proud to announce this week's artist Area 27. Formed in 2004 by Shalien & The Lord of The Starfields, Area 27 is a collaborative music project that has remained somewhat enigmatic.

The debut CD "Magik & Mayhem" was concieved and recorded in an unorthodox fashion at a series of inspirational locations and makeshift studios. These locations included a converted office floor in a very cosmopolitan section of Melbourne, Australia, a decommissioned navy base on the Central Coast of California and a magikal, serene property in the California high desert..

The music draws from a wide range of influences, from obvious contemporaries; Portishead, Massive Attack etc to the not so obvious but strong influence of artits as varied as David Bowie, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, INXS, Prince, Coldplay, Radiohead & Tom Waits.

You can find out more here www.last.fm/music/Area+27

Catch the tracks Black Sun and Dancing on The Moon now playing on the station.

Have a great week.

PS. Big thanks to the guys at Idea Generation (www.ideageneration.co.uk) for all their help at the Big Chill Festival.
