YAP RECORDS about to release the limited edition 7" series of your dreams! ..

Starting in October YAP is releasing a monthly series of 10 limited edition 7' and digital downloads featuring debuting artists from DATAROCK'a hometown, Bergen, Norway. All the A-sides are gonna be produced by DATAROCK ourselves, but the B-sides will be dedicated to live takes and remixes. Next year the A-sides are compiled for an international release (CD/12'/ digital download), but keep your eyes and ears open for those seven inches of pure pleasure. You'll wanna smell 'em while they're fresh out of the oven.
First single out is Syntax TerrOrkester's 'O HERLIGA LONDON' (DATAROCK's 7' edit) accordingly celebrated paired with the international release of their acclaimed album at The Luminaire in London (311 High Road Kilburn, London, NW6 7JR) Thursday the 9th of October featuring a DATAROCK dj-set, a party at Lovelite in Berlin (last day of Popkomm!), Friday the 10th of October, and a domestic release party at Studenter Samfundet in Trondheim the 11th of October.
Be sure to catch 'em if you can!
The seven piece punk/prog/post/jazz/noise/experimental/improv/rock band Syntax TerrOrkester has been around for close to a decade under various names. Finally these fine young aspiring professionals came around to record an album for our label under the current killer line up.
The album was recorded live in a small church (close to Bergen on the west coast of Norway) using a so called 'direct to real' technique. In layman terms that basically means no digital post production welcome! What you hear is what you'll get live on stage, and as you'll tell yourselves, this band is definitely worth checking if they're ever at a venue in close proximity to your sitting-around-doing-nothing-really.
'This is a band of colossal intergalactic potential' Fredrik Saroea, DATAROCK
'a truly remarkable collision of Fugazi hardcore and Talking Heads quirks, fused to an experimental, improvised noise-jazz aesthetic' Andy Inglis
'...a tight calory-bomb which is both punk, prog, post, jazz, noise and improv... rock!' NRK, URØRT
'This music is contradiction personified. It injects simplicity with ferocity allowing humble concepts to explode onto the grand stage.' Malcolm Robert Macdonald, NoMusic
'Syntax TerrOrkester is the sound of something delightfully energetic and undefinable. This is challenging music for body and mind' Harald Sæverud, NRK
'Syntax TerrOrkester is doing schizofrenic and experimental greatness!' Stavanger Aftenblad
'...if you're looking for a true concert experience, Syntax TerrOrkester is a safe recommendation.' Einar «Engelen» Engelstad, Bergens Tidende
'But have they managed to capture the magic on the album? Yes!' Helen Alexandra Aasen, Bergens Tidende
