FINALLY!
'FAMOUS' is released on iTunes! I'm so happy!
I re-recorded the vocals (different from the album).
My producer Markus Moser pulled together some really talented people to do the remixes. They are all good in my opinion. Mixes are by Formula, Lametta, and the Klubjumpers. ALL TALENTED MUSICIANS! ALSO there are bonus tracks of 'FASHIONISTA' by Grammy Award winners the KLUBJUMPERS! They did a great job!

I wrote 'FAMOUS' from a very personal experience in my life, but it is also a commentary about the current state of our culture. So many people lust for fame without even realizing what fame is all about. And today the lines between fame and infamy are blurred. It didn't use to be that way but things have changed. Charles Manson is "infamous." Marilyn Monroe is "famous."

The lyrics in 'FAMOUS' are very shallow but run deep in irony and meaning. The same is true for 'FASHIONISTA' Some people who listen to 'FASHIONISTA' take it at face value but there is an irony embedded in the lyric. I often like to write in a way that has a double meaning. Sometimes there is a third meaning or more as well.

But I still want the songs to be fun on the surface.

'FAMOUS' is dedicated to my good friend Phillip McClain who shot me as 'Jimmy Warhol' back in December 2007. I did not know at the time that we would use the image for 'FAMOUS' but it certainly is appropriate. Andy Warhol once said in 1968, "In the future everyone will be famous for 15 minutes."

This was such a great prediction that it is still quoted today because back then who could have known the explosion of Television, reality shows, youtube, mass-emails, myspace, facebook, etc...

I hope you like 'FAMOUS' as much as I do!

I'm performing in Provincetown, MA all Summer long at The POST OFFICE CABARET. I'm singing "FASHIONISTA" "FAMOUS" "KISSING A FRAUD" & "SUMMER SUN." I'm also doing my Voice Impressions of famous Divas. So far it's going very well and I'm so happy that the crowds are receiving my own music very well.

The POST OFFICE CABARET
303 COMMERCIAL ST.
PROVINCETOWN, MA. 02657

Shows are: Thurs, Fri, Sat (9pm) Sun 8:30pm

I am truly humbled by the outpouring and support for Fashionista, particularly after so many of you wrote or called to let me know you heard it on America's Got Talent with the Beyond Belief Dance Company which aired July 1st. Beyond Belief is a group of 22 highly talented dancers from my home state of Texas and it thrills me to know that my solo music from Jamestown resonates so well with so many young people. If any of you missed that particular episode, it is available for viewing on youtube at this link:

Making Jamestown has truly been a dream come true. While some of you have been familiar with my early work with vocal impersonations, I have always wanted to create original songs. Jamestown was the result of a long journey through the highway of my mind with little detours and kiosks along the way. Think of the songs as a mental vacation with a dance beat! Like any life journey, some experiences are happy and some are bittersweet but all experiences lead us down our own path of personal growth. It is so heartwarming whenever I hear from a fan who stated how much a song on the CD meant to them. It's nice to know that there are fellow travelers along this highway of life experience and I couldn't think of any other people whom I would want to take that road trip with.

It is because of your support for my career and my music that we are now on the 3rd maxi single from Jamestown with "Famous" slated as the 4th maxi single due for release on July 8th.

Essentially, if you ever attended a show, bought a CD or single, discussed my performance or career or in any way touched someone else through the work I have done, I truly thank you for your love, support and friendship. I do hope you continue on this journey with me because the next phase of the music has only just begun and all of YOU have helped to make it happen!

With warmest love and hugs,
Jimmy James
P.S. I'm performing in Provincetown, MA for the Summer so come by.

April 2008 will go down in my books as the sickest month of my entire life. This has been the nastiest flu EVER. What the fuck is this horrible virus??? I was supposed to shoot the music video for "FAMOUS" so I did not book anything this month except for St. Louis. I had to post-pone it for the following week because I was sooooooooo frigging sick again for the 2nd time with the flu. It's come to me in 3 fazes this month. I have just been so out of it. I'm glad I did not book anything in April because if I did I would have had to have been canceling everything. It's bad enough I've held up shooting FAMOUS.

My show in in St. Louis in the club called 'Just John' was packed full and my voice was really good but I got on stage clammy and face sweating like a whore in church. I announced to the crowd, "I'm clammy but I'm here!!" I opened the show with "FAMOUS" and then went on to doing the Voices. I purposely skipped singing "FASHIONISTA" because I did not think I could do it. I was just so weak. The crowd in St. Louis was very kind. I think I was a bitch. Before the show I guzzled down lots of coffee to snap myself out of my fluish achey sweats feeling...This made me on edge. The club owner Diane Scott was so lovely I did not have the heart to cancel on her a 2nd time but I was tempted.

I had to come back to NYC Sunday and on Monday night perform FAMOUS at Bungalow 8 for my friend Michael Shulman's Bday. I was clamy again. I barely got through it too. I left soon after my performance. John Legend was there. Everybody seemed to like my performance. My voice was strong.

My label tells me that they are very excited about all the new remixes for FAMOUS. They don't get excited too easily. So I hope this is going to be something. I resang the vocals, they got back up singers, The Klubjumpers have delivered their remix and we have other exciting remixes and the artwork is going to be me as WARHOL. This August Andy Warhol turns 80 years old.

I never intended FAMOUS to be about the WARHOL era, but it matches. FAMOUS is actually written from a devastating heartbreak of mine. Oh well. Something came out of it.

I fly to San Antonio, TX April 30 and from there I go on to San Diego and Denver and Las Vegas etc... I'm hoping to catch some hot Sun rays to burn this flu away. So many other people have told me stories about their flu this year lasting 6 weeks.

So far 4 weeks down 2 more to go.

Oh by the way I've lost 20pounds, the first 15 pounds came off from the gym the next 5 pounds came off cause the flu diet takes away your appetite. Right now I hate food. You'll rarely ever hear me say that. Except when I'm in love or heartbroken....or have the flu.

Bye,
JIMMY JAMES

I have just got over that nasty flu. I'm back at STEEL GYM with my trainer KEN HUNT. Although I'm still weak, he's easing me back into my workouts. But I'm getting stronger. I look forward to the day soon when I'm back to my regular self.

When I do the bicycle I'll watch the OPRAH podcast of "A NEW EARTH" on my ipod. I really like that video feature. I've also watched JOHN STEWART'S "DAILY SHOW." I also watched movies ..."RAISING ARIZONA" and "UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN" which was making me cry while I was peddling. Luckily I go to the gym in the afternoon when there are not too many people there. Diane Lane was brilliant in that movie. I guess it's a chick movie - so I'm a chick.

I'VE LOST 15 POUNDS SO FAR! THANK YOU KEN HUNT FOR TRAINING ME!

My label MADE RECORDS about to release "FAMOUS" as another single for me. I have re-sung the vocals and the GRAMMY AWARD WINNING KLUBJUMPERS are finishing the mix right now. I listened to MARKUS MOSER'S HOT HOT ELECTRO HOUSE MIXES and they sound sooooo good. The remixes are awesome.

We may be making the a cappellas available on the internet for DJ's to make their own mixes to.

The music business is changing so much that it is like the wild wild west. Now is the moment when thinking "outside the box" is important.

This past week was very trying for me. A management meeting I had did not go as positively as I was expecting. Things took a very negative turn - and in front of my label no less. Afterwards my label was very pissed about the way it went. Thank God my label has seen so many of my shows to know the power of my talent.

Over the weekend I went to my friend's lake house in Pennsylvania. It was restful and nice to get away from all the bullshit. We sat around and read "ROLLING STONE MAGAZINES" and I was inspired by the music business all over again. I'm always wanting to read about other artists and how they have managed to overcome and make it.

It is true, that you have to believe in yourself so much to overcome the stupid doubting Toms of the world.

I'm not really very religious but I will probably go to the little chapel close to my apartment to feel the presence of God. He has never let me down.

I played Puerta Vallarta Mexico over the Easter weekend. They put me and my friend John up in nice condo high up on a hill with views of the ocean. We just uploaded my PV performance in the Sky Club. It was awkward because the stage was so low. Actually you can see there’s not much of a stage at all. Also at one point you can hear me say "lights!" They promised me at rehearsal there would be lots of dance club lights spinning and flashing but???? I saw none. I like to make my dance club appearances fun and flashy. But if they don’t use the disco lights what can I do? I can only sing. We only uploaded my performance of "FASHIONISTA" towards the end but I opened with "FAMOUS."
I also sang "SUMMER SUN" and I did a short a capella of Madonna’s "Holiday" since it was Easter weekend I thought that would be good. I also sang my Cher impersonation "WALKING IN MEMPHIS" from my "Forever Cher" double CD.
PV was so much fun. FASHIONISTA is a big hit in Mexico, evident when I was about to go to sleep in the condo, I actually heard my song being played in the distance in a straight dance club. It was surreal. I grabbed my camera and shot footage at night from my balcony to record that moment happening. WOW! What a thrill. I thanked God for making it happen for me. I never say I’m so lucky...but I’m so lucky that this has happened for me.

I also ran into an old friend, Don Scotti, from L.A. We were all friends with Paul Jabarra who wrote the great classic hits; "It’s Raining Men" "Last Dance" "Enough Is Enough" and many more...
Don took me and my friend John out to dinner and it was very special with a mariache singing softly spanish songs close to our table.

I also made an impromtu visit to BLUE CHAIRS at the outdoor cabaret. There’s a queen there known as Diva who does FASHIONISTA all the time. She did it for me and I made sure to give her a big tip. Then I got up and did some fun material for the crowd. I tore it up with comedy. I just ad libbed and I got on a roll. Someone put my Cher medley performance on YOUTUBE. I look like a HUGE FAT PIG. And what do fat pigs look good in? White of course. LOL! Yes that’s what I’m wearing WHITE! HUMPTY DUMPTY WHITE! It’s a terrible angle of the camera. Under ALL the chins. Well thank God I have a trainer now and I’m on a program to lose weight. I’m not down on myself but there’s nothing like the camera to remind you what a pig you’ve been all Winter long.

On Monday March 24 I left PV to fly back to NYC. It took all day flying. Arrived around 11:30pm.
Tuesday I had to sing at Duvet for the launch of a men’s lounge wear clothing line called Pookie’s.
We had so many sound problems. To solve it I was put over to the side away from the stage to sing. I didn’t care. I just wanted the feedback to stop. If only I could lip sync like Janet Jackson, I would never have to worry about "Feedback." TEE HEE! Cheap shot.

2 Days later March 28 I flew to Orlando with my assistant Phil. I played at REVOLUTION. They have a cabaret in the back so I did about 15 minutes of Voices in that room. The crowd was packed and they went wild. I wish I had that to put on YOUTUBE. Everybody was so nice and I met Jamesson there from MYSPACE.

Later in the night I went to do my Dance Club show in the dance club side of the club. Everybody really got into it. I did "FAMOUS" "WALKING IN MEMPHIS" & "FASHIONISTA." It was a ton of fun. We shot it and hopefully in a few days that will be on YOUTUBE too.

I was supposed to play Tampa the next day but for some unknown reason, they canceled. Shady!
I was dumbfounded. That has never happened to me before. Thankfully the guys Peter and Frank from "WHAT’S HAPPENING" magazine were there to take care of us. We wound up sleeping in some giant unfurnished high rise in Tampa. ALL HOTELS WERE SOLD OUT!!! I can’t even go into this cause it was a weird mess. We slept on the floor of a multi-million dollar high rise condo with wrap around balconies. People got stuck in the elevators. I was wondering why it was taking them so long to bring my bottled water. I was choking with cough.

Phil and I slept on the floor for about 3 hours.
We caught the first flight out of Tampa (6am) to NYC.

I was feeling like shit the night before with a nagging cough. By the time I arrived to NY, the cab from the airport smelled of GASOLINE. UGH!!! I was getting sicker by the minute. I bitched out the driver and did not give him a tip. I got into my apt and it was clear I was coming down with something serious....like the FLU!!!! YES THE FLU!!!

I’ve been a blithering sicko for the first part of this week. Plus I infected the guys from "WHAT’S HAPPENING MAG" too. I bet they were glad to get rid of me.

I’m getting better slowly thanks to drugs like Bactrim, MucinexDM, Afrin, Advair, Tylenal Extra Strength, Halls Mentho-Lyptus, Ricola Lemon Mint (sugar free), Healthy Choice canned Chicken soup. And after I broke my fever I limped over to Dunkin Donuts for 3 Boston Cream donuts. I know! The pig came out after being so delerious for 2 days. I couldn’t help it.

I’m feeling weak now, can you believe my life?

Please forgive me for not proof reading what I just wrote up above but I gotta go lay down. So if there are mess ups - sorry.

Love from Sicko,
JIMMY JAMES

P.S. The new vocals and remixes of "FAMOUS" are on their way. I’m excited... But I gotta go lay down.

"FAMOUS"
(Lyrics: Jimmy James Music: Markus Moser)
WHEN I BECOME FAMOUS
YOU’LL KNOW WHAT MY NAME IS
I’LL BE GLAMOROUS
POSING FOR CAMERAS

MY PICTURE’S IN THE MAGAZINES
I’M RIDING IN THE LIMOUSINES
LOOK AT ME I’M A DRAMA QUEEN
REMEMBER MY NAME FAME!

So much has happened in just a weeks time.

I went to Made Records Recording Studio to re-record the vocals for ’FAMOUS.’ They have decided to release it as my next single. It has been pulled off my myspace because they want to do a real launch of the song with all the new remixes. Sorry to some of you who have been using it on your page. Even I was using it on my personal page.

My original vocals for ’FAMOUS’ were intended to sound very bratty, but I was never very happy with the results. ’FAMOUS’ is one of my favorite songs on my album "JAMESTOWN" so I’m so thrilled they gave me a 2nd chance to re-sing the vocals. This time I’m using my own more powerful full on vocal range.

Grammy Award winners The KLUBJUMPERS are doing the first remix for ’FAMOUS.’ They have done recent remixes for Mariah, Nelly Furtado, Britney, 50cent, PussyCat Dolls and more...
I’m in good company, and I’m so excited! They are also doing a remix of ’FASHIONISTA.’ I love these guys, they are so talented.

My new Manager has set me up with a Gym membership at STEEL GYM in NYC and got the owner of the gym KEN HUNT to train me. I’m working out hard everyday and being very careful to eat right. Luckily I do like to eat vegetables, salads, lean meats like fish etc... But at the same time, I like Fried Chicken, bisquits and mashed potatoes. ;) Oh well none of that for now.

I’m on my way to Puerta Villarta for Easter Weekend. I’m performing at Club Manana. "FASHIONISTA" is a HUGE hit in Mexico. It got Licensed there and it plays everywhere. I wish I had royalties from all the Drag Queens who have performed my song lol! I’d be very rich!

Thanks to all of you who have written me about digging my music. It means a lot to me!

Big Love,
JIMMY JAMES

At around 1pm today William Strope stopped by my apt. to have a meeting with me and my record company/producer Markus Moser. We are discussing again making the FASHIONISTA music video. My fingers are crossed that it really happens. There are so many things that have to be done and the budget is teeny tiny.

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT called that they need ask for liscencing FASHIONIOSTA for the Summer. It's going to be performed by a dance group called Beyond Belief. I found them on YOUTUBE doing my song.

After our meeting, I took Markus to my new Manager's office around the corner from me. He also manages Amanda Lepore. We talked about I would like to write a song for Amanda. Also it was good for Markus to meet Mr. Floyd.

I went to Beige (at BBar on Bowary & W. 4th St.) tonight with my assistant Phil. It was crowded.
My friend Adam stayed home and was texting me about Hilary winning Texas! My hometown San Antonio pulled through for her. YAY!!!

I'm going to make a prediction: If Hilary becomes President, I think she will go down in History as one of the Greatest Presidents of all time. Just a prediction.

People have really beat her up. She has never been given a free pass. She held on and rose above all the slings and arrows and shit. On that alone, I think she deserves to be President. But I think she has a lot to offer. The Presidency for her would be so hard-won.

God Bless America!

February 20th I played in Austin, TX @ Oil Can Harry's (OCH). It was for their Wed. night Club Popular. I sang "FAMOUS," "SUMMER SUN" & "FASHIONISTA." I also did some voice impressions. I did my Cher impression from my "FOREVER CHER" double CD on import. I sang "WALKING IN MEMPHIS." Imagine Cher on HiNRG speed and you got the idea. I'm listed as the artist "Dark Lady."

It was great to visit Austin again. I had not been there in 15 years.

A few days later, I came back to NYC to have meetings with my label and the Director William Strope about making the "FASHIONISTA" music video. This video above anything else has to be good. The song is now playing all over the world and there are over 40 uploads on youtube of people doing the song. I gotta somehow step up to the plate and be good since I'm the one who wrote it and sing it.

Feb. 29
I performed glamorously at The Palace Hotel here in NYC. It was for a very lovely lady who had hired me around the Holidays for her corporation office party. This time it was her and her husband's 25th Anniversary and his Birthday. It was a small but luxurious party for 30 of her close friends. I performed in this 5 star Triplex Suite. Basically I did a 30 minute show doing my Voices of: Eartha Kitt, Judy Garland, Diana Ross & Lionel Richie, Barbra Streisand & Neil Diamond, Sonny & Cher. I was in excellent voice and it was a fun time. Thanks Daun!

Afterwards I went to visit my friend Adam @ FoodBar in Chelsea. He's a longtime friend. Also we had 2 friends from London came to visit us and we went next door to The Flight Bar. I just had Diet Coke.

I came home and washed off all my clown makeup. Got in bed and Sjon from Houston called to say hi at 4am. I was awake. He knew I would be. He called me when he was at the drive-thru window of WHATABURGER. LOL! He told me what he ordered. Then I called Kathy in San Antonio, TX and fell asleep with the phone on my pillow.

Oh we've just added a new youtube of me doing a performance and interview on a local TV show called "Eye On Tampa Bay" from 1993.

The account is "ONEANDMANYJIMMYJAMES" check it out!

Bye,

I have had it so good.

I did a gig in Costa Rica December 22, 2007. Hex Hector was the DJ. I did a special guest appearance and the people were by far the sweetest people I have ever met. While I was performing they were all holding up their camera phones. They really got into my music. Afterwards I signed anything that they wanted me to sign, even underwear and tits and asses. The people were so warm and genuine. This is perhaps why so many people from the states have homes there. Oh and the coffee was awesome. I brought some home for family.

After Costa Rica I came to Mom's house in San Antonio, TX to REST. I got to see some long time friends. I saw family. We have a big family - lots of relatives.

I loved just hanging out. Watching movies, DVDs, TV etc... Mid January I did 2 gigs in Houston. Feb. 20th I'm doing Austin, TX. But alas, I gotta go back to NYC and face the rat-race. I have enjoyed the sunshine in San Antonio and I'm longing for the West Coast. We'll see.

I feel so rested and ready to "face the cameras" now haha!

In New York, I get so self involved, but in Texas I become an observer. I watched the news with Britney, Amy Winehouse, Heath Ledger etc... I loved watching Britney being dragged out on the stretcher. I don't wish her bad, but it was exciting. I read about Amy Wino on Perez Hilton's blog. She looked gross especially when she did that rotten blond hair. She looked like a hoarse - or a goat. Then on the Grammy's she was AMAZING - MESMERIZING! I LOVE AMY!

News travels fast. My friend in NY texted me about Heath dying. Then it was on CNN and everywhere else. This made me so sad. Heath was so brilliant. How could this happen? So much talent and beauty gone. All I can say is DON'T HANG OUT WITH MARY-KATE OLSEN! She really seems weird to me. I don't know why the NY cops won't even ask her some basic questions. It's too weird to me.

I've been watching "CHELSEA LATELY" she cracks me up! I guess I like all the celebrity gossip.

I fantasize of the day when I get pulled out of my house on a stretcher. Maybe I'll be seen with a bad hair dye job looking like a hoarse or goat. Then I'll be on the Grammy's singing gorgeous and redeeming myself looking like a star. BUT I'm not hanging out with that monkey Mary-Kate Olson. No Way!

I just got back from St. Croix.

I'm tanned.

I did a show there to benefit the Pointe Dance Acadamy. I opened the show with "FASHIONISTA" which was choreographed by one of the girls. Soon this performance will be on YOUTUBE.
I closed the show with "SUMMER SUN' and they danced in that one too.

The girls were teenagers and just about the sweetest girls in the world.

St. Croix was so relaxing and even more relaxing was the RUM!

I only performed on Saturday then I had Sunday, Monday, and part of Tuesday off before coming back to NYC.

My tour manager and I hung out with a Richard Gere look-a-like and his Cuban boyfriend who we kept calling Ricky Ricardo. So we hung out with Richard Gere and Ricky Ricardo. Maybe this is the Rum talking.

December 22nd I gotta go do a show in Costa Rica. Just in time to re-tan.
