well, i just want to thank everyone who's been involved with my album LANDING LIGHTS, from the musos, dj's, friends and fans who love listening to the songs. We have scored an ARIA nomination and so i head to the awards next week. The album is sitting alongside Keith Urban, Troy Cassar-Daley, Shane Nicholson and Jasmine Rae - so it's an honour.
plus last week was the announcement of the Golden Guitar finalists and found out i am in Female Vocal with ROLLER COASTER and in Song Of The Year for GIRL IN THE MALL. GITM is really exciting for me as it's about my story, and was written with friend Mark Seymour.
i've got two gigs this weekend with Troy Cassar-Daley, but if you can't make those, then tune in on Sat nights from 10pm as i'm hosting Sat Night Country on ABC Radio. it's been fabulous, having interviewed already some top names like Neil Murray, kasey & clan, glen campbell's daughter debbie, Troy C-D, the Topp Twins (and they are TOPS!), Mitch Shadlow, karen lynne and loads more.
ok, i'll see some of you at Doyalson and Campbelltown on fri & sat - bye!

press release 1 july 09 -
Felicity Urquhart is set to perform Saturday 11th July at the Halekulani Bowling club, coinciding with the release of her clip to her latest single, TWO WHEELS. Co-written with the highly respected Melbourne artist Nick Barker, the single is the latest from Felicity’s critically acclaimed album ‘LANDING LIGHTS’ (released January 2009) with the clip set to reveal the multi-award winning artists sexier side.

“I couldn’t wait to play the sheik biker chick, but I only see it as a role that matches the song material. To don on the leather - every girl loves to dress up”, says Felicity.

The effervescent Felicity is dedicated to delivering the right performance to do justice to the musical story. No stranger in front of the camera, she draws upon her presenting work and experience on Channel Seven’s Sydney Weekender when the director calls action. The only difference with this shoot, the blonde bombshell will bring extra spice to her performance.

Like the lyrics in the song, her latest album has seen Felicity “break away from the chains holding me” with the final product said to be her most daring material yet with the film clip and single sure to continue her reshaping of the mould.

The clip and album are a taste of what Felicity will be performing at her show on Saturday 11th July at the Halekulani Bowling Club in Budgewoi.  Felicity hasn’t performed on the Central Coast for a few months, and so it keen to perform for the locals. Joined by two up-and-coming young starlets from the Hunter region, Felicity is happy to support the new breed of artists.

Makaylie Foodey is only 16 years old, yet has been performing for 5 years on stage. Originally from Coonamble, this young artist has co-written with the likes of Kirsty-Lee Akers, Tamara Stewart and Drew McAlister, and is a high calibre writer herself. She plays not only the acoustic guitar, but mandolin and dulcimer. Makaylie is currently performing in the Talent Development Project, a graduate of the junior country music college Camerata and this year won the Aristocrat Junior Entertainer of the Year.

Kaylah-Anne will not only be apart of Felicity’s show, she has also joined Felicity visually with her debut film clip hitting the Top 50 CMC chart, alongside her co-artist. In a little over three years, Kaylah-Anne has won the 2006 Newcastle Buskers Challenge, 2007 Bisley Buskers Young Performers Award in Tamworth, and named runner-up at the 2007 APRA Songwriters Teen Songwriter Of The Year. Last year she graduated from the Australian College of Country Music, and this year’s highlight included being named a Grandfinalist in Toyota Starmaker. Kaylah-Anne’s debut EP Why Me, was produced by Rod McCormack and the title track has become her signature song. www.kaylahanne.com.au

So for an amazing night of talent, don’t miss the Felicity Urquhart show, supported by Kaylah-Anne and Makaylie Foodey, Saturday 11th July, Halekulani Bowling Club, Budgewoi. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased from the club or phone the club direct 02 4390 9900.

Bimbadgen on the weekend with Sheryl Crow and John Mellencamp was fantastic!

Sound check on Sat we spent running for cover with a few storms in the hunter but it didn't affect the gig.The highlight of the weekend was meeting Sheryl. She was so sweet and beautiful. Her set was tight and her band were cooking. She sounded amazing!. We got to hang with Peter Stroud (guitar player) and the guys talked amps and stuff, he's a lovely guy.

John Mellencamp played a solid 1hr 45 and had all 7 thousand people at each show in the palm of his hand.'Jack and Diane' sounded so good live.We loved him and his band.

Thanks to everyone at Bimbadgen for the hospitality. We were so well looked after, it was a dream gig to play new songs of the forth coming album.!!

New Single 'I FALL' we played at Bimbadgen is avaiable for download on 6th Dec www.iTunes.com/felicityurquhart
