Hey all..

Every month the Perpetual Motion crew present you with a mixtape compiled by a special guest from the Jump Off. These exclusive mixes are offered up free every week at the Jump Off, as well as at select venues around town.

This one's our first, and it's gold.

Our guest is none other than Tobias Kirmayer from the prolific Tramp Records label in Germany. Tobias is gonna be rockin' the spot on the 17th of February, and i strongly recommend coming down to check out his style.

The Jump Off brings the funk every Saturday night with some of Australia and the world's finest musicians and djs, so swing on down to the Alley at the bottom of AC/DC Lane and get that low end moving!..

Thanks for checkin' in.  Next month's mixtape comes courtesy of Western Australia's Funk Club collective. These cat's can wail, so don't miss out.

Peace all.

PM crew.

Monday, September 25, 2006

Well, thanks to all that attended the September Jump Off.

The Ill Cadre DJ set recieved another standing ovation, Chris Gill of Northside Records fame played one of the most astonishingly party funk sets i've ever witnessed and DJ Ransom... Well, what can you say about a guy who's been a stalwart of the Australian Hip Hop scene practically as long as it's existed.

We've had a ball putting on these parties for the last few months and the Fun(k) is not over.

In the month of October we're taking a break to deal with a few personal commitments (i.e. getting back in the studio full time) (or as full as we get...), but don't fret coz we're coming back in November with our biggest night yet.
More DJ's, more party and maybe a surprise or two.

As always, we'll keep you posted.

Much love, and peace.

Steve

Hola peeps,

Finally posting a blog from the 4 kids who make up the up-and-coming young-player-stalwarts from Melb-town:  the Perpetual Motion Crew.

Our story is simple.

Sick of headin' to the club and not hearing the dancefloor cracking funk jams we know and love, we thought "Damn, let's just do it ourselves".

We all keep odd hours working in the lab honing our respective skills of deejaying, emceeing, production/engineering and geetaw fiddlin', so whilst we polish our product, our public face is THE JUMP OFF!

We'll keep all you true heads up to date with the latest PM news, including special offers, giveaways, mixtapes and special guest acts & DJs....

Bring the funk.

Peace all.

PM
