Hi poppers – As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I take a look at my life and realise there's nothing left – except this quick update from over at Alcopop HQ to let you know that finally the winter shackles have been shook, and our first release(s) of 2009 are set to hit the streets, shops, airwaves and what ever other media they jolly well fancy. A new Monday, a new announcement, and it is with pleasure most unreserved that we can finally announce that pen has been put to paper (at least figuratively anyway) – and My First Tooth will be releasing their debut EP ‘My First Tooth and the Rubies’ on Alcopop Records – out on the 30th March. Ideal for (lets pigeonhole in terms of Alcopop for a moment) fans of Sam Isaac, Nathaniel Green and Hush the Many – My First Tooth’s distinctive brand of ethereal indie pop will leave one tingling with its subtle heartbroken soul and unwittingly touching melody… You should probably heed advice from Rock Sound who called them “enjoyable alt-country” and XFM who raved “Killer pretty stuff” and pop over to My First Tooth’s MySpace now, where you can hear the first track of the EP ‘Sleet and Snow’ in all its glory. In other fine news, MFT tour intensively, and whether full band, duo or a Ross solo show – they are bound to be heading close to your town soon. A very special sexy extra limited edition of the EP will be available at the Alcopop shop and on tour (we’re talking 100 of them tops) – so expect details about that soon. Meanwhile, poppers meet My First Tooth… You’ll definitely get along famously!

Happy new year! Hungover much? So here we are again. For the third time in a year Mr Clothier has buggered off for some sort of glorious holiday leaving muggins here holding the blogging fort in freezing cold Oxford. Still, it's not all bad, at least Stuart Little is on. Oh, wait... This is crap During Jack's trip I've decided I'm going to run a few little special promotions. The way I see it, the more mailorders you lot place, the more he'll have to do (being the mailorder man around these parts) when he gets home, sunburnt and feeling sorry for himself. Cruel? Perhaps. But at least there's something in it for you, in fact, there are two things... Until Wednesday 8th January (one week today!) you can buy Stars And Sons brilliant 7" single 'In The Ocean' and Sam Isaac's 'Sticker Star and Tape' CDEP together for just £6. That's a 25% saving! Click here to take advantageIf you have a moment, please head over to my full-time place of residence, Big Scary Monsters, and have a read of the blog. I'm looking for ideas of how I can fill 52 days off this year.

Hey hey hey!Hope everyone is magnificent. Gonna keep this email to a minimum amount of text, as I've noticed that there's a whole heap of Facebook mails going out recently that seem to be, in essence, a book. So here goes.... .. -1.) STARS and SONS 'In the Ocean' out today: Limited edition to 500, gorgeous 7" – Stars and Sons are the brainchild of Brighton-based Mike Lord. Branded "big brash intelligent indie pop" by Huw Stephens, an uplifting indie pop anthem by Jim Gellatly and "Nice sounds" by disgraced Beeb champ Jonathan Ross – listen to them at http:/www.myspace.com/starsandsonsuk, and buy from our shop for 3 quid. .. 2.) Alcocroc T-Shirts available now! You may be the hippest cat on your block, but there's always room to be even more magnificent. We've got a few of our Green/Yellow Alcocroc (yes he is a skateboarding crocodile) 'You tell your friends that you're my friend' T-Shirts left. But there are only 20 ever to be made in this colour scheme. Large have sold out, but S, M and YL remain... For just 8 pounds! Nice. .3. 3.) Keep the 15th December free! London – Social – Christmas Party – shhhh – more details to follow in the next week or so.

You may have bought a record or two, been to the gigs and consumed excessive amounts of Alcopop's throughout your lives – but today is a dramatically exciting day in Alcopop history… For the first time, I can proudly announce that you can now brand your chest with an Alcopop T-shirt – and not just that, but a rather cool looking crocodile (named Alcocroc) on a skateboard with a cap, and a quote from Alcopop's favourite rocking American – Mr Andrew WK! "You go and tell your friends that you're my friend!" Pretty damn positive I think, and ideal to usher in the new world order that Obama is rocking… I'd be surprised if he doesn't buy one himself! Hope you like it… Logo is below, they're very high quality fabric and we currently have them in YL, S, M and L.
If he does want one, he better be quick though – because in true Alcopop style, we're limiting this run of shirts to a profoundly small number (I'm talking 20 here), so that all the coolest kids can forever prove that they were on it before anyone else. I'm not saying we'll not reuse the design ('cos we love it) but this is the only time the shirts will be available in yellow on green. So if you fancy getting a little PoP, and shamelessly promoting our logo all about your town – head over to the shop… and purchase for £8. Oh, and remember that although we do charge postage (sorry), it's only 50p – and that 50p will cover whatever you want, whatever you like, whatever you say, you pay your money, you take your choice etc. Much love...

Alcopop Mailout ----------------------- Hello all – and welcome to another Alcopop update! While winter may be setting in, here's hoping sun is shimmering in your hearts… If it's not – the following news may just help! I've kept it brief, as you're probably all busy partying and perfecting pop dances designed to get disco floors-a-sizzling, but if you want more – keep an eye on the blog at www.ilovealcopop.co.uk ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1.) 2 New EPs released today on Alcopop 2.) Pavilion and This City on fire (not literally) 3.) Alcopop unveil new signing 4.) Bits and bobs… ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. Sam Isaac and CTBW release awesome EPs today! The 29th of September has always been a special day for me – and now I know why! The climactic explosion to our massively busy summer run of releases see's the 5 track 'Sticker Star and Tape EP' from Sam Isaac and 6 track 'Revert, Restart, Reset EP' from Cut the Blue Wire hit the shelves (and our online shop) today. While the former will fill your heart with 'pounding love pop' joy and charm – the latter will romp you through 15 minutes of breathtaking catchy aggressive pop that's undeniably 'seven shades of awesome'. Both just £5 each! 2. Pavilion hit the indie chart –This City dominate every magazine you've ever read I've already seen people selling Spoils of War for upwards of £7 eBay (even though we still have a few left??? Madness!), and it seems the single is picking up more momentum as the indie charts waved hello to Pavilion for the first time last week – in at no. 13 despite already being out for 4 weeks! Meanwhile, This City's new single 'We Move' is flying out of shops after they became the first band in living memory (Jack Pop's memory anyway) to feature in NME's 'Radar' and Kerrang's 'Introducing' section in the same week! 3. Alcopop sign Stars and Sons Not keen to sit on our hands (they are after all, pretty hands) – Alcopop are proud to announce the signing of one of the most exciting indie talents this side of awesome - Brighton's Stars and Sons (headed up by ex 4or5 Magicians drummer Mike) – who have been turning a whole heap of important necks, but happily opted to release their first single with us. Check them out at www.myspace.com/starsandsonsuk but be warned - you are liable to fall instantly in love… Look out for the single In the Ocean – out in November, accompanied by the best video I've ever seen! 4. Alcopop nuggets for thee to chew And there are a few other bits I'd simply love to tell you about what's going on at Alcopop – so in the spirit of a true challenge, I'll attempt to fit it into 50 words or less. Firstly Sam Isaac's touring + his new video is up on YouTube and amazing, Nima from Hush the Many has started a new chapter with an incredible band called Arrows of Love. Catch them at The Scala on November 14th (need cheap guest list – just email me). Oh, and James from DSP's hair is wonderful! There – that's it… Buy some records!
