Last weekend we tried to get into the Guinness world of records for playing surf beyond the clouds in Las Vegas.
This weekend we..re going 300 km inside the Arctic circle to play a show at Blårock festival (Tromsö) in North Norway.

Hey, been a while since we wrote anything here on the bulletin. Well were back. And there will be more soon! Hey
what a day!
I did hope we had more pictures because it was so much happening that day.
Well you can see some of it here on myspace.
The morningparty was just awesome. I guess the searider breakfast sandwich was such a hit that it will be served every saturday at Louie Louie up until christmas.
The signing at Sivletto was even better. At last we had a chance to improve our handwriting. We sold out on records. Just unbelievable!!!
But the best party of the day was the Party at Judy..s. such a blast! Thanks to everyone who did help out with this to make it happen, Fred & Johannes at Louie Louie, Per, A-K & Fred at Sivletto, all the dj..s Henrik, Jungle Jim, Putte, Thomas, Markus, Åsa, Elin, Per, Tobbe, Mia, all of you who did turn up to make this night unforgettable for me, Kalle & J.R.
But the biggest thank you goes to Qune, we could never have done this without you.

So, here are 2 NEW songs from Searider.
Blood on the waves
You sun of a beach
Some of you might have heard You sun of a beach on the Continental Mag CD sampler 15. But, that one was only a rough mix. This one is the final cut.
More of this music can be found of the album Searider, get it from Wild Records.
In two hours the celebration of the Searider release will take off. 10 a.m-1 a.m
i.e a 15 hour surforgy. We have photographer with us the whole day and he will cover most of the action. Check this blog in a souple of days for a full story of the festivities.

I noticed that this blog hasn..t been active since August. Well I have been working on the new layout (please send me feedback if its not working?)
Best viewed in IE, but I will make sure it will work excellent in other browsers (Mozilla Firefox, Netscape etc) soon aswell.
Now we have put the official releasedate for December 6:th.

A year ago, that is to say november 23:d 2007 Me, Kalle Fornia & J.R went into the studio for the first time in seven years. We then made the first sessions for the new album called Searider that I now 12 month later, finally got in my hand.

In the Summer of 1997 the Barbwires released their first 7" on their own label KOOK RECORDS. Before that, the band had recorded a demo (Produced by Lars Kjellén, The Daytonas [the first Swedish surfband ever] ) and made a couple of local shows. After the release of their debut EP and a lot of interest in Swedish media they Lollipop (a very big festival in Stockholm, Sweden). The EP was distributed by the bandmembers only in Sweden and in the US. After an excellent review in Surf Music Usa (Robert Dalley) the knowledge of the band resulted in many overseas orders. The first 7" sold 500 copies. In May 1998 the band did a tour in Sweden and Denmark. After the tour barbwires decided to enter the studio once again. One of these songs was later released on the compilation Swedish Sins 2 (White Jazz)
On the third of October the band did great gig with Jon & The Nightriders. This resulted in another tour. In May 1999 the band went down to Europe to do a small Belgium Tour with six shows. It started in Antwerp and ended in Gierle. Barbwires played mostly nythemself but also with the 50-Foot Combo.
Back in Sweden tit was time for the Hultsfred Festival early June 1999 (Swedens largest festival with about 25 000 visitors). Backed up with a second guitar, Theremin, Farfisa-organ, congas & saxophone the barbwires presented their new songs. With a new line up and a brand new 7", the new deal was a success. See That Seagal (Zorch Rec.) Officially the first release on Zorch records.
During the year of 2000 the Barbwires recorded and released a new 7" CHICKEN RACE and did gigs in Sweden with bands like The Hives, Euroboys, The Pipelines And the members in The Barbwires has been touring, Europe and Scandinavia and doin.. records with other bands such as Monster, Robert Johnson & Punchdrunks, Grand Tone Music, Orbitunes, Money Brother, Jimbob, Holly Rollers
