Here in fair Chapel Hill, waiting for Ironing's car to make it out of the shop (bad water pump causing major overheatage) Onward to Columbia asap. Shows thus far:

Boone NC--small turnout, my mics were hard to wrangle but I managed to rock the subbass onslaught for enough minutes to captivate. Sold some records to Green Eggs and Jam, made enough money for a super yummy pineapple seitan pita and a little gas. The Black Cat was a cool place to play, I would certainly go back when there are actual kids in town. Summer is tough in college towns.

Chapel Hill NC--medium turnout for the Night Light, sold no records but made some trades, my set was grrreat and the rest of the lineup was killer. Really got into Realicide, sweet headbanging DHRish action, tik//tik and Kevin Shields were both amazing. Saw a "real" Boyzone set (versus what I had seen in Boone the previous night) which ended up leaving someone bloody from smashing a mic into a broken bottle repeatedly. Thankfully I had some Hello Kitty bandaids in the car and could play nurse. Didn't get out of the club until 4AM, I guess that's just how they do down here in dirty Carolina.

Onward to Columbia tonight, and then home. Being on the road is exactly what I've been needing and what I should be doing every day. This is the life.
